It is my understanding that "public folders" will be disappearing in the
next version of MS Exchange. So, we are trying to port our "public folders"
onto a portalserver.

My question is... Is there a calendar template / contact template that can
work on the portal server? What I have read, appears to be how you can link
exchange public folders into your portalserver site, which is NOT what I
want.

Thanks
Carl

Yes you can create Calenders in Sharepoint and choose who can Edit or Read
it , this is called the events Web Part , You also have a contacts Web Part
that is a contacts list much like a public folder enabled for contacts.
