Ok I know this should be super simple...but is there
anyway to move a file once it is a document library?

For instance i have 2 folders in a library, folder A and
folder B. I want to move my file from folder A into
folder B. Basic file management task.

Thanks,

eRic

You should see an option called 'explorer view' once
youre inside the doc library. Then it works just like
windows explorer where you can drag and drop to the
folder you want. Although if you are using SPS 2003, you
may want to make sure you are using office 2003 in order
for everything to work properly ... at least in my
experience ....

Unless I am overlooking something real basic, dragging and dropping a file
from the root of a document library into a folder is easy. To move a file
from within a document library to another or to the root requires you to open
another browser window and open another instance of the library in explorer
view so you can drop it on the location you want. Not very efficient.
Helper links also show up when a file is selected that includes a link named
"Move File" which pops up a folder browser that you can select and move a
file with. Neither solution, in my opinion, is very efficient especially if
you do not have savvy users.

Rick,

I totally agree. For some reason there is no way to browse to parent
when you are in a sub dir from within Explorer view. If you are in View All
you can do this but then you cannot drag and drop or copy and paste. Im
really confused as to why something this simple was left out of Explorer View.
