    - Site Users Does anyone know what DB and table tells what sites users belong to? I was thining it was xxx_Sites.UserInfo however, if you run a query against a particular site, then remove users from that site, the users still show up in the UserInfo table. Basically I need to design a stored procedure that can query what users belong to what sites, so I can run a script that removes the users every night.     - ListView web part XSLT issue I'm running into a problem when I convert a list view web part to an xslt view. After converting it, I open the page in IE and get the "Unable to display this web part. To troubleshoot " open in Frontpage error. The list view is a part of a .dwt file attached to an .aspx file.     - SharePoint Installation problem Hello I am trying to install Sharepoint Portal Server on a fresh installed Windows 2003 Server. The problem is that when the installation is done, a webbrowser window opens, and wants to connect to a webpage farmdatabase.aspx. This fails. When i look to the IIS window is see there is nog Application in the Application Pools for SharePoint. So the installation fails to create the Application in the Applicaton pool , but no errors are shown during setup. When i run the SharePoint admin website in the default application , the the webpage loads, but ask for a login en password. I enter the admin account information, but it won't access. I have a number of content sources some of whose "Health" shows as green and others that show red. When I try to view the logs for a source showing red, I get a page, with all the column headings but no actual information. For sources showing green nothing is returned except for(eventually) a "This page cannot be displayed" message. This has caused the portal search to stop functioning because it can't find the original url. How can I change the url that the search points to without creating a new portal?     - Document library template problem Whenever I try to insert a url into the "template url" field under general settings of a doc library, it says the following: "Invalid template URL The template must exist in the Forms directory of this document library. Create the template in the Forms directory, and then re-type the Web address. Note that you cannot move or copy a template into the Forms directory." and when it does accept the URL (such as shared folders\forms\), it tells me that the document doesn't exist, which it blatantly does.     - Sudden massive gatherer log file Hi, I've been running SharePoint Portal Server 2001 as a search only system for a few months now with no particular problems. However, yesterday I noticed that a gatherer log file had been generated of over 7 Gb! On further investigation one of the content sources that SharePoint is indexing (using notifications) shows as having over 50,000,000 items as Access Denied. I've no idea what has happened to cause this. Incidentally, the Gatherer log folder displays CRWL files since I installed SharePoint, but GTHR files only started being produced in the last week, and then suddenly the massive gatherer log file was produced, causing significant problems.     - Finding path to specific pages/sites Due to the amount of seperate sites/areas hosted on the SharePoint server, coupled with the fact that I was not the one who installed it, and the person who dealt with it is away on holiday, I'm finding it very difficult to find which file corresponds to which page on the network.     - Search returns blank page without error or message. I'm having a problem with the search when testing as a member of a custom domain group in Sharepoint portal 2003. If I search for certain words I get a blank page where the results should be displayed without the usual error saying 'No results were found'. A search for the same word with additional words after or before it will return results. A search of the same word as an admin returns a long list of results. For some reason all of the Microsoft product names do this. So a search for the word 'excel' or the word 'FrontPage' etc. consistently returns a blank empty page (left hand menu is grayed out) there is no message saying 'no results' and no error. I know there are valid items they have permissions to because a MORE complicated limiting search will give returns. Anyone know anything about this? Even more curios: If I do an advanced search for 'excel' on all sources and types. If I limit to 8 months nothing. I get the same blank results with no message or error or anything. If I limit the search to the last 6 months I get results as I should. But then if I go to 7 months and get results I can then go to 8 with results and even 9 months with results but if at 10 it decides to return blanks again Then I get blanks at 9 and 8 as I try counting down.     - Quickly locate a listing (seemingly ridiculous UI limitation) I have nearly 4000 listings at the root of my portal thanks to the simplistic (lame given all things considered) import tools used to import an SPS v1 portal and now it is very difficult to locate the listing. Search doesn't find it and the UI has me going page by page through dozens of pages simply to locate a listing that I want to either delete or edit.     - Application integration I have a couple intranet applications on a separate server that I would like to incorporate into our new SharePoint portal. I'm not concerned with SSO right now, just getting the application to display within the visual confines of the portal. I remember doing this in SPPS 2001 pretty easily a couple years ago.     - problems with theme in sharepoint menu I created my own page inside sharepoint, and I'm using the sharepoint menu to show some context menus. It has a variable named L_Menu_SiteTheme, that I suppose it has the purpose of applying some style to the control to the menu, but it doesn't work, and I didn´t find a way to do that. Also, I found that not theme is applyied to menus, the only difference is between the default (that is blue) and any other theme (that is brown), but I could't achieve this effect. Any idea??     - It is possible to relocate a list on a site? I have a list that was built on our site at: Root Location\sub location1. Another administrator on our site has created a new line of pages on our site for the same purpose being served by sub location 1 above... so now I have content for the project that the site serves both at root location\sub location 1 and root location\sub location 2. I am trying to merge these two sets of data into one area. Is this possible? I have already tried saving the data lists from Sub Location 1 as templates with their content and moving them up to the root location, but I cannot see the stuff created in the sub locations up on the root locations.     - Need update on the "Change Location" feature/bug I've been reading the posts on the Change Location issues and would like to know if anyone has an update or solution. Everything works fine except for when I try to access Web Part Properties from within FrontPage 2003 for a web part. When I try to do this (on either Portal or WSS), I get a standard "The page cannot be displayed" error (the one that goes on to say something like, "The page you are looking for is currently unavailable...").     - Page width We are trying to get our portal pages to fix a minimum resolution of 1024x768. Our best efforts seem to get it down to 1043 pixels - if you reduce the browser window size below that, the header banner area doesn't reduce further and the horizontal scroll bar kicks in. WSS sites appear to go down to 1006 pixels (roughly). Having looked at the HTML, there are some "nowrap" attributes in the portal text bits (i.e. the area name and the portal name) - taking them out helps, but the PageHeader web part (the bit that pulls in the image and the My Site/Site Settings/Help links) also emits some nowrap attributes and that prevents the window from shrinking any further.     - Cookie-cut template problems 'Cannot complete' error for site settings admin Hi folks, I've cookie-cut a nice template for our clients SPS site and registered it using stsadm.exe -o addtemplate. All works fine until I try and get to the site settings admin, when I get the well known 'Cannot complete this operation' error. No problems on our DEV server, only on the LIVE server.     - Editing of documents (check in/out) Hi there, I was wondering.. is there any way that it might be possible to check out documents and edit them remotely (IE from a users machine). If I log onto the box that hosts the Sharepoint Portal Server I can edit these fine with no troubles. But if I access the Portal from any other machine on the network not running Windows 2003, I receive a small error. Something about "this requires a windows sharepoint services compatible application". I suspect I know exactly why this is the case.. but my question is: is there any way around it?
