    - IIS not serving up Administration Console for MOSS 2007 outside Hello, I am able to logon locally to the MOSS 2007 server (single server install, sql server seperate) and able to logon to the admin console locally. But when I try to logon to the admin console remotely http:\\servername:adminconsleport# - I get a 404 error saying that I do not have the rights to see the website. If I logon with a local admin account while remotely accessing it, I am able to get into the admin site. If I logon to the admin consle with a domain account, I get the http 404 error. (not authorized to view this website) the following things are setup - 1. NTLM Authentication 2. Domain Accounts for MOSS 2007 Administration/Authentication (not local) 3. 1 account for all administration of the MOSS 2007 environment (sql admin as well) 4. MOSS 2007 admin account is local admin Other than that, standard setup. I even tried testing setting IIS to allow all users access (checked the allow anomynous access box) rebooted and tried, same issue. 2 things that are strange, is that 1 - I can access the administrator page with a local admin account even though a local admin is not a sharepoint admin. 2 - locally everything is fine/ except if I try to go to http://LOCALHOST/(mysite) I am not able to go to the sharepoint site through local host as the dns name.     - Help with Restore We have\had MOSS 2007 portal server installed in a DEV environment and in error un installed MOSS 2007. I ran a repair which reinstalled MOSS but when I click on Share Point central admin 3.0 I get an error stating: Cannot browse the sharepoint central administration web application because a sharepoint central administration web appliaction has not been created yet. We have ran several manual backups of the farm via central admin and would like to get to a point where I can use those backups for the restore. Can anyone help? we also attempted to use CA arcserve Moss agent but it keeps failing. I am wondering to we need to run through the config and point to the old config database and then run a restore?     - Asked for Username/Password accessing Sharepoint through VPN Hello, we have a Sharepoint Portal Server 2007 running and many employees access the Sharepoint at home using VPN-Connections (ISA Server 2006). The employees log in via Smartcard with their Domain Account. When they Access the Sharepoint Site, they are asked for their credentials. And every document they open, they are asked for their credentials, too. When they press ESC for 3 times, the document appear. Also if they type-in their domain credentials. Is this behaviour by design? Can I change this so that the employees don't need to reauthenticate in sharepoint via VPN? Note: their home PCs are not within the company-domain. Thanks a lot!     - Filter Web Part error while linking to KPI Hi. I have a KPI web part that retrieves values from a KPI list, which get the indicators from an Analysis Services cube. In the same page, for testing purposes, I have an Excel Web Part that renders a PVT showing the same indicators as the KPI WP. Finally I have 4 filters in the page that send values to both the KPI WP and the Excel WP. The thing is: sometimes, when more than one filter is used, the KPI does not show the correct values - it should always present the same values as the PVT, and it doesn't. Although the KPI WP explicitly says (in Edit Mode) that it has active filters from the correct sources. Does anyone had this kind of behavior, or have any clue to what I might be doing wrong?     - User profiles import While importing user profiles the email addresses (Work e-mail field) is not populated. However, if we change the user id field from the mail LDAP attribute, they are imported. Is this a bug or a planned feature? If it's a planned feature, do we need to code something preferrably on import/update of the user profile that will copy the email address from the user id field to the work email field provided it is a valid email address (has an @ symbol and ends in .<something>)?     - Discussion board with e-mail enabled. Hi there, I'm trying to setup discussion board/groups with e-mail enabled. i setup an organizational unit called sharepoint under my domain. I setup the directory as sharepoint.domain.com I cant figure out how to delegate control to sharepoint.domain.com so that it can create e-mail accounts, et cetera. It says in the documentation that the user whom is running the application pool for central administration should have add/remove/modify users delegated to it. So, the application pool's user is Network Service. I tried changing the user to DOMAIN\Administrator, but then the central administration site won't work anyway, it says 'Service Unavailable' does anyone know a way to either a) change the user that Central administration application pool uses without breaking the entire service?     - Search permissions Hi all, We are having issues with our sharepoint search that seem different from common issues. Almost all of our users can search the site perfectly fine. However there are two groups of recently added users who have pretty limited read access to a small section of our MOSS 2007 site. When they run a search nothing comes up, not even stuff that is in areas that they have read access to.     - Argh - importing spreadsheet problem We have encountered another compatibility problem between MOSS and Office2003. We spent several weeks tracking down the problem that prevented 'edit in datasheet' working (dll issue) and now are trying to import spreadsheets. Our Workstation SOE is Office2003SP2 + Project2007 We *Cannot* upgrade to Office2007 in the near future due to massive change management issues for 3000+ users. We are rolling out our intranet in MOSS. Looks good except when we try to 'import a spreadsheet' to create a new sharepoint list in MOSS. We get the error: "The list cannot be imported because a Windows Sharepoint Service- compatible spreadsheet application is not installed". Of course it is.     - My Inbox I need to display a read-only inbox on a shared kiosk. Because of what the display looks like, I can't really use a web page web part linking to a public folder. So, I have a user called general to receive the mail. I gave 'default' reviewer rights to that mailbox. I set up a user called kiosk to log in to the kiosk computer. When I access the site logged in as a domain admin, the 'my inbox' displays a line with the navigation arroes, a line with the headers, and the e-mails in 'message' format, without the preview pane. That is what I want. When I vew the site logged in as 'kiosk', the web part 'my inbox' exactly like OWA, including the preview pane. How do I get it to display like the domain admins?     - MCMS 2002 Content Export problem We're having a problem with our daily content export/import job that moves our content changes from our pre-production to our production server. Changes to any pages, other than the homepage, causes a reasonably sized .sdo file that is created fairly quickly and imported quickly. However, if we make a change to the site homepage (root channel - default page) for some reason it causes a huge 600+ meg .sdo file to be created even if that was the only page changed!     - IE session cookie error while rendering a form Hello to all, This is somehow a rather weird behaviour that I can't explain. Maybe someone can help. As soon as I published an InfoPath 2007 form at the SharePoint 2007 Server SP1, Version 12.0.0.6219, and try to access it via the Internet Explorer 7 an error message appears. It's stating that I didn't turn on the session cookies in my Internet Explorer so the form can't be loaded. Nevertheless this turns out to be true because I activated to accept sessions cookies in Internet Explorer 7 at the general internet options. Same behaviour is also shown in the Internet Explorer 6. Surprisingly as soon as I open the rendered form within the Firefox browser everything works seamless. If so how does the average not technical user in a SharePoint document library locate this pointer so they and others can use it?     - Why was the vml namespace removed from the master paged in MOSS/WSS3.0 The vml namespace (e.g. xmlns:v="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:vml" ) was removed from the master pages in MOSS/WSS 3.0.. Without this namespace and the corresponding behavior, IE has no idea how to render VML contained within an XML web part. When I add the namespace to the <html tag and the syle to the header, the VML document fragment that I shove into an XML web part runs just fine..     - Access linked tables/lists and Sharepoint - Where does join/filtering Hello, I am currently investigating to create an Access-based application that can be used by multiple users. Therefore I want to use Sharepoint Lists to store the data and Access clients that run an Access Application with tables linked to the lists in Sharepoint. No other solution like an SQL Server is available. Unfortunately retrieval of the data from Sharepoint is really slow. Some lists have up to 27,000 items or more. I found the Cache List Data option in Access 2007 which seems to help a bit but overall the performance is still very bad. My question would be where operations like join or filtering of queries are applied. If I filter such a linked table in Access does Sharepoint only send me the filtered results or are all rows downloaded and afterwards filtered in Access? If this would already be done on Sharepoint it should greatly improve the speed. However, this does not seem to be the case?     - MOSS2007: List filter web part; multiple selection The Advanced Filter Options for the List Filter web part includes a checkbox to allow multiple selections. Setting this option changes the filter dialogue from radio buttons to check boxes as expected. However if I choose more than one selection, the items displayed in the connected web parts (Data View Web Parts) are only for the first list value selected.     - SSRT Integration rsItemNotFound Hi Everyone- I have a new installation of MOSS 2007 on a Server 2008 box. The database is on a separate, dedicated SQL 2005 box. There is a default instance of standalone SSRT and a SP-integrated instance. SSRT and ASP.NET are running with a domain account, which is also a local administrator on each box. MOSS 2007 is installed (website not hosted here installation) on the SQL server and joined to the farm. The SSRT add-in for MOSS has been installed. From Application Management in Central Admin, I can manage integration settings, grant database access and set server defaults without problem. From VS I can publish reports to MOSS and edit data connections, permissions, properties, etc. HOWEVER, when I click on a report to actually run it, I get "The item <path to report> cannot be found. (rsItemNotFound)." I've searched high and low and can't seem to come up with any explanation for this error. Even tried deleting and re-creating the SSRT database.     - Windows Desktop Search + Intranet Hello, I have installed WDS with group policies successfully, and have configured an intranet search site using the group policy template file from Microsoft. No other settings in the template file have been configured. WDS works ok, but the intranet search does not show on the computer. I looked into the local machines registry, and the setting is there.     - Free/busy info in MOSS Hi My organisation has just rolled out Sharepoint2007 and I have noticed that free/busy information for colleagues is not showing through. Their names are displayed in MySite (as colleagues) and in our Office 2003 apps when I load a doc from SharePoint with a message saying that free/busy information is being retrieved. I want to create a custom theme. I know how to do one based on any of the
built-in themes by duplicating a folder in the "THEMES" directory.

However, the Default Theme does not have a folder. I've tried duplicating
core.css and modifying paths to match up with the THEMES directory.

But I get random black boxes, wrong text colours, etc.

Does anyone have a copy of the default theme as a standalone theme so I can
just modify it?

Or any other suggestions?
