    - "Pages" in breadcrumb and url - problem with web hierarchy - moss2007 Hello, Is it possible to get rid of "Pages"? By default all created pages for web are stored in "Pages" document library, if I change name for it, it changes breadcrupb but not URL. I attempted to: 1. Creating new document library and allowing management for content types. 2. I added 'Article Page' content type for this library. 3. I try to add new Article Page to this library (by choosing New > New Article Page from this library menu) 4. Article is added not to my library but to "pages" library! I also want to be able to create folders but it seems "Pages" library doesnt allow that while other libraries do. When I change settings for 'Pages' to allow creating folders and then try to create folder I get 'Object reference not set to an instance of an object Error Page'. I work on MOSS 2007 TR. But unfortunately we always get a login dialog poping up when we try to access the site from a new browser.     - Latest news webpart Hi, I am trying to find a solution for implementing a "latest news" feature. I have a portal with multiple sites for several departaments in a company. Every departament needs to display its own News list on its site, but on the portal homepage, I need to display the latest news from all departments, more exactly, the last 10 news published in the whole company. In this moment I created a news list for each department site, but I guess having a global news list at the portal level and just filtering it in the sites should be a better solution. The problem is I can;t find a webpart to do this in the department sites. Can anyone guide me with some sample webparts or any idea how this should be better implemented? Thanks.     - Sharepoint Search configuration issue I just installed the B2TR using the slipstream method on a Windows 2003 box. It installed successfully and the configuration wizard went off without a hitch. When I logged into the Central admin, I started to complete the tasks listed in the configuration steps. When I got to setting up the 'Services on the Server', I was able to start all of them except Office Sharepoint Server Search. After I configure it and hit 'Start', I receive the following error: An unhandled exception occurred in the user interface.Exception Information: Value cannot be null. Parameter name: path Everything else seems to have started fine, except this. Any ideas on what I can do to fix or get around this. We cannot begin to use 2007 until I get this figured out.     - BDC Application Definition Import Failed I have a metadata file that will validate against the BDCMetadata.xsd schema. Whenever I try to import, I get an error: the identifier name ....does not match any of the defined Identifiers for the Entity. I have a project entity and a project Team member entity. The project entity has an association method 'GetTeamMembersForProject' which returns a list of team members. The first two columns are the identity columns for the projectTeammember entity and they have been tagged like so: <TypeDescriptor TypeName="System.Int32" IdentifierEntityName="ProjectTeamMember" IdentifierName="ProjectID" Name="ProjectID"/> <TypeDescriptor TypeName="System.Int32" IdentifierEntityName="ProjectTeamMember" IdentifierName="TeamMemberUserID" Name="TeamMemberUserID"/> I can verify that these identifiers are setup correctly for the ProjectTeammember entity, but I don't understand why I keep getting this error.     - B2TR - Bug with ListView Toolbar? When I create a new site from a custom template, the "Toolbar type" for List View web parts always goes to "Full Toolbar". However, in the site template it was originally defined as "Summary Toolbar".     - can't access shared folders on intranet from servers! Hi, I have a weird problem. We have a sharepoint intranet. We have set up in DNS that intranet is an alias of bbcmicro which is the machine it sits on. >From my pc, all users pc's, we can go to \\intranet and see all the folders of the various portals and the documents in it. However if I'm on a any of the servers and type in \\intranet I get the error message "a duplicate name exists on the network".     - Error during Restoring the SharePoint Databases from One Server Farm to Another Hi, I am trying to restore the sharepoint databases from Production environment to the Development environment. Steps I followed: 1) Backup of the three sharepoint databases SPS_SITE, SPS_SERV and SPS_PROF from SPSProd_DB_Server 2) Restore all the three databases on SPSDev_DB_Server 3) Go to Sharepoint Central Administration --> List and Manage Portals --> Restore Portal 4) I entered the database names of SPS_SITE, SPS_PROF and SPS_SERV (The configuration database is created previously and a couple of portal are already running on this Server) 5) On Click Create, The Portal Creation Initilaizes and after restoring 1% it fails giving the following error. Error: "Portal creation failed.     - Site collection audit settings question I see that in the Portal there are links to "Site collection audit settings" and "Audit log reports". I have one server that runs the portal 2003 and one server that runs a standalone WSS server. The 2 servers share the same SQL server but 2 different configuration databases. In modeling this I did the same with the Beta TR. The Portal shows these links. The standalone WSS server does not. Microsoft lists Audit as a feature in WSS. Do I have to be using the Portal though to get the Microsoft provided interface? Is there a way to have the separate Portal server read the logs from the standalone WSS machine and provide reports (if the WSS standalone server is logging)?     - Indexing Documents with Custom Metadata Hi all, On our test server, I set up a document library with 12 custo metadata, added pdf to 'Include File Types' and uploaded a bunch of pd documents (scanned images) and jpg images. Then I did a full update on the Non_Portal_Content. The custom metadat showed up in the 'Manage Properties of Crawled Content' page. For eac custom metadata, I selected 'Include this property in the conten index' and 'Allow property to be displayed' options and then I di another full update. At the end, I could search for the documents and pictures based on th custom metadata. Everything went well, so I repeated these steps on our productio server. To my dismay, the custom metadata showed up in the Manage Properties o Crawled Content page, but no documents were associated with them ('N documents with this property were found.' message shows up at th 'Content Using this Property'). Also, the 'Documents in Index' for th Non_Portal_Content indicates the correct number of files; therefore the files were indexed. But, then, why their metadata content is no indexed? Any ideas? As far as I know, the only difference between our test and productio servers is that the production server uses SQL Server 2005 , while th test server only has the SQL Server Desktop Engine.     - Crash when Removing MOSS or WSS B2TR Deadlock when my B2TR install failed for both WSS and MOSS. Could not proceed with installation nor could I "Remove" either software! Tried everything until I focussed on removing the SQL Server 2005 Embedded edition (which seemed to be in a mess) and also very difficult to remove. And it is a different product to SQL Server 2005 Express. I used the command Issue 33: Uninstalling WSUS 3.0 does not uninstall SQL Server Embedded Edition (Windows) If WSUS 3.0 is uninstalled, SQL Server 2005 Embedded Edition (Windows) will not be uninstalled. If it is necessary to uninstall SQL Server 2005 Embedded Edition (Windows), the following commands will uninstall the application: (on 32-bit platforms) msiexec /x {CEB5780F-1A70-44A9-850F-DE6C4F6AA8FB} callerid=ocsetup.exe The uninstall of WSS B2TR then worked fine.     - CSS Image missing on 'Site Settings' pages I have applied a style sheet to a portal site (for a client). In that style sheet, I have done different colors on some text, made some background areas transparent, and added a background image. Everything is fine on the main portal page and other pages under that page. However, when I go to the 'site settings' page, the style sheet is applied except for the background image. In the style sheet, here's the section for the background image: .ms-main { background-image: url(/_layouts/images/sfb.jpg); } The image does exist in the location and as I said it works on the main portal page. I have tried the full url (still didn't work). I also assumed that perhaps it was starting at _layouts/1033 so I created the directory structure _layouts/images from there and also from _layouts - but that didn't work either. Can anybody help me so I can have the image on both the main portal page and the site settings pages (and perhaps others?). Thanks in advance for any help.     - "Internet Presence" not an option? Can anyone think of a reason why my Sharepoint 2007 Server Tech Refresh Beta 2 would not have Internet Presence as one of the template options? Do I need to reinstall? As a related topic, I've noticed that the templates have a higher level of control over where page elements appear than even the master page does. I'm trying to design an internet facing site with the breadcrumbs outside of the main content area. I've noticed that wiki and some of the other templates are set up this way. Can I change the setting easily, or is it best to just find a template that has the breadcrumbs outside of the main content area, and run with it? All,
we have a SPS 2003 (SP2) small server farm that uses SQL 2005. I
installed SQL 2005 client tools to be able to use SPS backup and
restore tool. After installing this, at random times, the site errors
out that 'WSS is configured to use .NET 2.0 and is not supported'. The
event log has the following event:
Faulting application w3wp.exe, version 6.0.3790.1830, stamp 42435be1,
faulting module mscorwks.dll, version 2.0.50727.42, stamp 4333e7ec,
debug? 0, fault address 0x000e9f96.

I am not planning to backup and restore using SQL backup and restore
any way, so, Is it safe to uninstall SQL 2005 client tools and
then .NET 2.0 framework from the server?
Did any one had this same issue and resolved? Please help!
