hi,

i am having a big problem. one of my collegue jane smith whose user name jsm
and email address is jsm@domain.net and she got married and take after her
husband family name, 'noble' so we will have to change her last name from
smith to noble. which her user name will be from jsm to jno while her email
address is jno@domain.net.

i have made all the necessary changes in the active directory of exchange
server 2003 and the email is working fine but the only place that does not
change is the display name and email address in the user list in sharepoint
portal 2003 even after i have make a synchronisation between the active
directory and sharepoint portal 2003. i have even tried to delete all her
account in all the sharepoint site and add her as jno but it's still display
as jsm while her email address is jsm@domain.net.

how can i made the update works? please help! looking very forward for a
solution! big thanks in advance!

have you gone into the profile database and looked at her account email
address?

yes! and when i click on her account, there is a choice which i can look into
the outlook properties and there it shows her old user name and old email
address and how can i edit and update the information there.

at the view user profiles page, it did show the new user name and email
address but at the site settings>manage users page, it still show the old
user name and old email address.

how can i correct that?

ok...try iisreset on the server and then load the page and refresh it

I have just tested on my test system....you may have to change the users
details on the sites she is on

thanks for the path, i manage to change the email address but the user name
is still jsm and not jno. how can i change that. i tried with deleting her
account and import with jno, it accepted with email address jno@domain.net
but not with the user name.

in Site Settings > Manage Profile Database > View User Profiles at the
Account name, it's shows domain\jno but at the site settings > manage users
it show under user name domain\jsm
