SharePoint Portal will have an images folder in the root of the hierarchy,
e.g. http://portal/images. You should put your logo into that folder and
then use "/images/logo.gif" as the URL.

If you've got, say, Windows XP, try adding a web folder on your PC to
http://portal/, where "portal" is whatever you've called your site.

You CANNOT browse the files directly on the server - pretty much everything
is stored within SQL and not held as native files on the server. You have to
go through WebDAV.
