Using Frontpage 2003 I created 3 new web part pages (.aspx) and now no one
can view the pages. I created these pages right off the top level SPS site.
How do I control security to these pages? I would think since they are under
the top level SPS Portal that it would inherit from that but it does no
appear to work that way. Any help is greatly appreciated.

The new aspx pages are web part pages. Even if someone is an administrator
on the SPS area they can't access the sites. The web part pages are
dashboards that pull lists from several WSS sites and are set to filtered
views. The message that I get is:

Access denied. You do not have permission to perform this action or access
this resource.

Access requests are not enabled.

I get this when I try and browse to the page. Any ideas again I appreciate
your help a great deal.

dashboards? or web parts? dashboards are the term of sps 2001, not used in
sps 2003 version.

"pulle from several wss sites"?does it mean wss sites has different
permission setting, even hosted on different virtual servers?

I have a web part page (SPS 2003) that I am displaying lists items via a
data view web part. The pages have multiple webparts (approx. 20) per page.
The web parts display items from different WSS sites task lists. The WSS
sites are all hosted on the same virtual server. All of the WSS sites that I
am using has all users read access. Right when I try to browse to the page
with any other user other then myself I get the error that I mentioned
before (prior post). I get the box that authenticates you to the web server.
At the top it list the name of the web server and when I attempt to log in
with any other account then mine (author) that is when I get the access is
denied message. I am completely stumped. I spent all day yesterday trying to
figure this out. Does it make a difference if the page is on a WSS site vs.
SPS a web part page on a SPS area?

I am also lost.:). According to what us said, it shoudl work.

To isolate the problems, could u pls just add the web part one by one to see
which web part got problem? And also pay attention to the filter view of a
web part. sometimes such addtional actions as filter may also cause problems.

I am not sure I am right but i strongly remommend u to put things simple,
one by one, start from the simple data view web part for trouble shooting.
