Hi All,

I was successfully able to install and configure the MOSS 2007. Howver when
I try to create a new Web Application, after
2 mins it gives me erro saying that,
"error Go back to site. Thread was being aborted.
Troubleshoot..................."

Please guide me how can I get round this error? I have full permission to
database and IIS server. I have also seen in the
eventviewer where I cant find anything significant.

Thanks,

Shell

Hi, I got the same error. I set up a clean virtual Machine with WinServer
2003 R2 and SQL Server 2000 SP4 (couldn't get this far with SQL 2005). My
Error appears when I try to create the top level Portal site using the
existing Default Web Site.

I believe increasing the timeouts in IIS will help solve the problem
especially when running virtual machines.

I am using MOSS 2007 beta 2 and see that error quite often on slow
machines or with limited RAM. Basically when the web application creation
time crosses some limit, sharepoint aborts the creation.

Hi.

I've run into the same problem several times. Uninstall and install is the
"only" way I've been able to fix it.

I was having the same problem and used the idea of changing the IIS Timeout
and that worked for me. I changed my setting from 120 seconds to 600 seconds
and I was able to create a site.

I tried to change the IIS timeout to be 600 seconds, but still can't solve
the problem, may I know how much memory you allocated for the VPC?

1 GB is preferable for the VPC , 768MB can work though.

Hi,

I've been having the same problem and after several previous failed
attempts, can confirm that Web App was created successfully (and
subsequent creation of Corporate Intranet Site also then worked) after
increasing VPC memory to 1GB and IIS Timeout to 900 seconds

Cheers,
