    - SPS 2003 Search Hi all I have a SPS 2003 Portal Site and I created three wss sites from the Portal Site itself. Sitedirectory index job ran and I am able to search those documents in the wss site document libraries only from the Portal site search. Why can't I search from the individual WSS site -> Search Box?     - When "Item Limit" specified - Previous link not displayed Hi, Just wanting to see if anyone else has encountered a problem after specifying an "Item Limit" in a List Webpart. I have used the feature to display documents in blocks of 6. The "Next" hyperlink is displayed, but when I click on it and move to list Items 7-12, there is no "Previous" link to go back to Items 1-6. The only way is to clcik on the Home link in the header and start again. Has anyone else encountered this issue and if so, how did you resolve it?     - Outlook blocks sharepoint emails Hi, In my company, Outlook 2003 blocks by default the notifications sent by SPS 2003. I need a way to avoid this, without going to every one of the client computers and adding that address as safe. Any sugestion?     - SPS2003 SP1 Problem Topology Machine 1: Windows Server 2003 SE w/Sharepoint Portal Server & WSS Machine 2: Windows Server 2003 EE w/SQL Server 2003 EE SP3a Both machines in same domain. Domain Account used for AppPool identity for broken site on Machine 1 is identical to Domain Account for db_owner of Config and Site databases on Machine 2. Domain Account is NOT locked out, and password never expires. Before any installs were made, the single SPS virtual server on Machine 1 was functional. IIS was NOT stopped before installing the updates. I ran Windows Update on Machine 1, and it suggested I install SPS2003 SP1. I downloaded SPS2003 SP1, and started the install, but that install told me I needed to install WSS SP1 before SPS2003 SP1. So I downloaded WSS SP1, ran that, then I installed SPS2003 SP1. Then, reboot. Now, the single virtual server on Machine 1 is inaccessible, with a 500 Server Error. I can hit the SPS Central Admin site. The virtual server listing is this: Name URL Version SomeName http://SomeUrl 6.0.2.5530 Upgrade When I click on the name of the virtual server, a pop-up window from SPS2003 help says I must upgrade the server by running SetupSTS.exe or running stsadm.exe from the command line with the upgrade option. Windows search could not find SetupSTS.exe anywhere on Machine 1. I ran stsadm.exe like this: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\web server extensions\60\BIN>stsadm -o upgrade -url http://SomeUrl the result was: Cannot open database requested in login 'SomeName_Config_db'. Login fails. (Error code: 4060). I did find this http://digitalmelon.com/posts/160.aspx (which internally linked to http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=841216) which suggested I add "-forceupdate" to the arguments for stsadm.exe, so I ran: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\web server extensions\60\BIN>stsadm -o upgrade -url http://SomeUrl -forceupgrade and the result was "Cannot open database requested in login 'SomeName_Config_db'. Login fails. (Error code: 4060)." again. At this point I've rebooted 2X, recycled the application pools @3X, and restarted IIS @5X, and the portal site still gives the 500 error.     - site collection usage summary When I view the current storage used for a site collection in the site collection usage summary page, amount of storage used for the site collection has somehow become reset. In other words, I know that there is at least 900 MB of storage used for this site collection, but it is only showing about 8 MB used. I also know that it used to reflect the correct amount.     - Authentication window in SPS despite the user is registered Hi everybody: I have created a Sharepoint 2003 portal site and register users, however whenever I access it by typing its domain name asigned (intranet.belcorp.biz) or IP address(172.16.228.226) instead of the computer name, the server shows me an authentication window, asking for name, pwd and domain. After entering the information requested I am allowed to access. But my point is, if the user is registered in SPS 2003 and belong to AD, why SPS requires user credentials for the first time?     - MySite AND Links List How come you can not create a links list in MySite? I want a links list that is targeted to one audience,but to do it, I had to create a table in SQL with the link data then create a Data View Webpart. That is a ridiculas work-around. Before any one say use the Targeted links for you, that is not acceptable, first it does not funtion as it should. Anyone can go in and change the group by and see everything.     - Problems creating Sharepoint subscriptions Hi, A user contacted me today regarding Sharepoint 2001's subscription facility. When he tries to create a subscription against a folder he has coordinator access over, it states 'You do not have permission to perform this operation.'.     - InfoPath 2003 sp1 and SPS 2003 I have created a form in InfoPath with a 'Submit' button using the standard 'Submit' functionality in InfoPath -- to submit the form to an SPS Forms Library. I have verified the the path to the form library is correct. I can open and fill out the form, and clicking on the submit button results in a message indicating that the form was submitted to the forms library correctly. The completed form, however, does not show in any of the views for the form library. I am not using any managed code on the submit button, but rather using the Submit wizard functionality available with sp1 when creating the button. I did a search on the portal and the site where the form library is stored, and the forms are not retrieved in the search. Has anyone encountered this behavior previously? Thanks!     - Editable web part? Using Sharepoint Portal Server 2003. Sorry if this is obvious, but... I want to put a web part on a page that will contain an editable text block, basically a free-form "status update" portion of the page that I want to be able to easily edit right on the page. I've tried several things: - Used a "Content Editor Web Part" and clicked the "Rich Text Editor" link in the properties pane. This is pretty good, but it requires too many steps to edit it every time. - Used an "Announcements" style list, which is easily editable, but too constrained (I want to use outline style bullets). - Used a "Page Viewer Web Part", chose File, and specified a Word document, but there were too many toolbars, scrollbars, etc for a small space -- and when I hid them, they came back again next time. - Used a "Page Viewer Web Part", chose Web Page and pasted in the URL for a "Basic Page" I had created in my Document Library. This seems like it would be perfect, except the entire Sharepoint header is included. It's got a nice, easily accessible "Edit content" link right there. Any more ideas???     - Programmaticaly Set BrowserDesignMode I have a webpart that has a UI shown only in BrowserDesignMode. Some of the functions that the UI allows requires that I refresh the page in order to recall the CreateChildControls on the webpart. When this happens the page comes out of BrowserDesignMode. Is there a way in my code to set the page (during, or after the page refresh) into the Design This Page functionality to re-enable the Design Time UI? Right now any change I make I have to re-select the Design This Page every time and that can be slightly annoying.     - child domain users - no access to SharePoint site We are currently using SharePoint to manage users on our Intranet web site. The majority of our users are part of the parent domain on our network and have been given User IDs and passwords for that domain. These individuals are also set up in a SharePoint security group which permits them access to our web site. So far, so good. Problem: We also have a child domain on our network. There are individuals who belong to this child domain that are not part of the parent domain. When we added these users into the same SharePoint security group, they were not able to gain access to the web site. SharePoint was installed when Active Directory was in mixed-mode. Active directory is now running in Native mode. We anticipated this would clear up the issue for the child domain users. It has not. They still cannot get into the web site. A temporary solution that we have implemented is to assign the users in the child domain a separate User ID and password in the parent domain. And, place the parent domain User ID into the SharePoint security group instead. This works but is not the best solution for obvious reasons. Is there a setting or a way to configure SharePoint that will help us get around our issue? In other words, can we set SharePoint up so that it recognizes a user in the child domain without them also having to have an ID in the parent domain? Thank you in advance for a resolution. Hi,

I have two lists, List A and List B.

List A contains a lookup field linked to List B.

In List A i convert a view into XSLT and then it happens!
I select the converted View and after that the title changes into List B
although List A is displayed.
I have no idea how to get the title chainging into List A.

Can anyone help me please!
