Is there any documented issues with placing Visio Docs. in SP? We have
several problems trying to open Visio docs. once we place them in SP. Once
placed in SP - they can not be opened. The odd part is that it only occurs
in some of the docs. I have tried to see if it's a version issue but I
placed 2 separate docs in SP created form Visio 2000 and one opened back up
and the other did not. Please advise......... -Thanks

Hoop-

I've got the same problem. What's more, I tried to download the file
rather than open it in the Library. When I go to try to open it, I get
a "Memory read error...". So not only can't I open it, I can't
download it and open it. SPS corrupts the file!

Nothing documented as far as I know. I've picked up the following issue and
determined a couple of work arounds. Don't know if they are related. SOME
Visio 2000 documents don't upload via "upload.aspx" form (e.g. from "All
documents" document library view) in SPS 2003 however they will upload via
Explorer view and in WSS 2003. The difference is that the default
"upload.aspx" in SPS has additional fields/columns.

Work arounds :
1. Open file in Visio 2003 - save in Visio 2002 format - this will upload
and Visio 2000 users should be able to open it too
2. Remove all additional fields/columns except "Title" (which cannot be
removed) the problem file will then upload easily and it also seems to
download back to Visio 2000 too.
