Server Application Unavailable - Sharepoint 2003 error

Hi All,

Whenever I try to open either my portal home page or central
administration page I am getting the below error

Server Application Unavailable
The web application you are attempting to access on this web server is
currently unavailable. Please hit the "Refresh" button in your web
browser to retry your request.

Administrator Note: An error message detailing the cause of this
specific request failure can be found in the application event log of
the web server. Please review this log entry to discover what caused
this error to occur.

I am working in Sharepoint 2003,windows server 2003 - Service Pack 2,
IIS 6.0 environment.
I checked the IIS and all the application pools mappings are fine with
the virtual directories.

Can anyone please sugest the work around for this problem.

You say you checked them already, but ... I've seen this error when
the application pool's identity was broken (in my case, due to a
password change).

Hi All,

This problem is still existing for me.
I could see in the application event log Event ID: 502
Error : An exception occurred in the search synchronizer.

Has anyone come across this problem and knows the solution for this
issue
