    - Cannot install Sharepoint portal server 2003 Hello, I am trying to Install Sharepoint Portal Server 2003 trial version (downloaded from Microsoft site) on Windows 2003 server, standard edition. The installation goes fine for a while and then i get an error saying could not install SPSAdmin server and to check if i have sufficient rights. I am not sure where to check for these rights as the installation did not ask me for credentials while installing. Is this a known issue? Any help in this regard is appreciated.     - Can not check out document Hi, We are using SPS V1.0 and I have users with windows 2000 operating system which can not checkout documents. The save target as option is disable. User can not also create web folder to the workspace as well. From 200 users, I came cross only 3 or 4 users with such a problem.     - Importing contacts When I click on the import contacts link, I get the message "To import contacts, you must have an Address Book compatible with Windows Sharepoint Services and you must have Internet Explorer 5.0 or greater." I have Explorer 6 and am running Outlook 2003, which I though was automatically compatible with Sharepoint 2.0. Is there some switch or setting that I'm missing? When I make an "Alter Me" I get the confirmation e-mail, but then when someone changes the same file (which I have set the alter to send me an e-mail then a change is made, so in 5 mins it should send me a E-mail) it does not.     - Sharepoint Web Folder Permission problems When trying to change the security on a root web folder, I am continuously getting this error: The file or folder properties cannot be saved, because of the error(0x8007000e): Not enough storage is available to complete this operation.     - Broken Links when updating the name or location of a document If the location or name of a document is updated, none of the links that were created as a reference to the document are updated with the latest information.     - Help with Lists I have share point portal server v2. I have on the main portal http://www.domain.com set a new "Lists" called Employee tasks (well it is a custom list). Now I want to be able to link the Employee tasks web part to "My Site" but when I go to "My Site" (under "Modify my page" à "add web parts" à "browse"), I don't have the option to add Employee tasks from the web part list, if I go to main portal page and add a web part , I can see Employee tasks "Lists" and add the web part without a problem but only from the main portal page. So I guess my question is can I link the Employee tasks web parts list from the main page portal to the "my site" location. I would also like to link other "lists" and "document libraries" from the main portal as well. I would want to have the same setting as the main portal page. Thanks.     - SPS 2003: Cannot delete site - is this a bug? Hi When I try to create a site, it says: A site with the specified name already exists. So, I go to manage sites, and indeed, the site is there (BUT several times!) So, I delete each one (by selecting 'Delete Item' from the Drop Down List) And indeed, they drop off the list. BUT, I still get the same error when trying to re-create the site. I am left feeling this is all a bit flaky. Why were there more than one entry in the Maintain Sites page? Why could I delete them all, but still the site exists? How on God's earth can I get a list of the physical sites and actually delete the offending site?     - V2 Dm server / SSL / Basic authentication / WebDav / problem Hi, Maybe someone may have an idea on the following problem we are having. We have set up the SPS V2 DM server on an extranet and it is installed on a domain controller. We have our own custom app installed on it that runs on the Exchange Store part of SPS. [All this works on SPS V1]. The box is configured to use basic authentication and the App pool used is the SharepointDMAppPool whose identity is set to Local System. The app ran fine until we put SSL on the box - with SSL installed and configured there is a couple of area of the application that break. The main one is where we check if a folder exists by doing a WebDAV PROPFIND request. If the folder exists then the PROPFIND executes correctly - if it does not exist then it appears that the xml http request call barfs on the send method. The error displayed is "unknown name" and the responseXML appears to be not populated. This is now happening over both http and https. It looks like installing the ssl cert trashed something. Anybody any ideas where to look next? Anybody know the identity of the process that handles dav requests? Anybody know how to trace or debug backend dav requests?     - Add web part zone to STS template Hi, I'm trying to add a new webpart zone to the STS template (C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\web server extensions\60\TEMPLATE\1033\STS\default.aspx). However, the zone must be placed inside the <form runat="server"></form> tags. The existing <form runat="server"></form tags are around a small portion of the the HTML. If I move the tags to start just after the <body> tag, finshing just before the </body> tag I get an error. I cannot add a second set of form tags around my new zone as you can only have one set witht he runat="server" attribute per page. I have managed to achieve it on one page using the STS template by dragging stuff around in FrontPage2003, but I don't want to use this as it disconnects the page from the original template. The search works fine (when it runs :-), The problem is that it isn't
running as specified in the schedule..

It seems like if I start the job by hand, it starts doing it's regular
updates again. But only for a while, then it stops again?
