I've been using SPSBackup.exe to backup my portal server, and SPBackup.exe to
create the SPBakOut.bat file to backup my personal and team sites.

About a week ago, SPBackup stopped working. Now, no matter what command
line parameters I use, it generates an empty .BAT file. Prior to this,
everything had been working fine. I have SPS2003 and WSS on the same server,
together with my SQL 2000 instance.

If I use the last successfully-generated SPBakOut.bat file I have, the
backup works fine.

Any ideas?

Thanks. If this post is in the wrong newsgroup, feel free to ignore it

Are you getting error messages anywhere? What has changed?

Hi Shane,
No errors, and I'm not aware of anything changing (although of course that
doesn't mean nothing has). There are no messages in the event log unless I
run the last good batch file, in which case I get normally-recorded backup
events. I just wind up with an empty batch file when I run SPBackup now. I
can't pin the exact date that this started happening.

I've started playing with the "enumsites" option of stsadm and am in the
process of writing an automated backup procedure, so losing SPBackup isn't
critical. But I'd like to understand what has gone wrong, if anything, just
in case.

Thanks

Hi
Do you still have the problem?
Did you any password changes?
Are still the same privilegies given to the backup folder?
