Hi All,

I am unable to give area level access rights. What I have done is:
Main Page-> Divisions(left side) ->... in this area there are some Sub-areas
like Sales,Production,Marketing,IT.
I made two users user group: G1 and G2.
G1 can access to Sales(Divisions->Sales->Manage Security...in that I have
deleted all users and groups except G1), and
G2 can access to IT(same as above except G2).

What I have read in books and documents is that when G1 group logins in
intranet, they will not be able to see IT sub-area and G2 will not be able
to see Sales sub-area.
But every user can see every area and sub area and can access them.

Plz help........ :-(

Did you ever resolve this? We're having the exact same issue.

Hi Mike,
I do not have any particular reason why it happened but I got the solution.
As in the documentation of SPS 2003, they have given that we can delete the
existing Area or rename it...etc. I have deleted those area and again created
them so at the right side it was giving my name as a area creator, when I see
that area.
I reinstall SPS 2003 and it got solved.
I will advise u to take the back of existing setup and reinstall only SPS
2003.
For any other help please write to me.

regards
Prateek
