Hi all,

I have just migrated from a DDRK based dashboard to SPS (v1). On my
dashboard I use web parts which retrieve data via web services from a SQL
database.

Each web part has parameters to allow the user to change things like time
and amount of information shown.

BUT! since moving over to SPS, each user cannot "save" their web part
parameters as they did on DDRK. The settings are ticked to allow users to
minmize web parts, and all other parameters are the same.

I have tried upgrading everyone from READER to AUTHOR, but this has no
effect. The only way I can get them to be able to do this is to set them as
Co-Ordinator - which isn't good, because when they change a web part, they
end up changing it for everyone on the system!

Can anyone tell me why this might be, and what I can do to resolve it?

many thanks,

David (UK)

It's not possible, this was a feature from DDRK 3 which didn't make it
into SPS2001. The only person who can change the attributes of a webpart
is the co-ordinator of that folder.

This is much better in the new version we are currently beta testing,
where pages can have both a private and a shared view, howev er recoding
your existing webparts will not be trivial.
