Anyone have experience with this migration? Any suggestions?
We're looking at WSS, Portal Server, etc. Not sure which will suit our
needs/budget best. We've set up a simple group intranet using WSS that
works decently enough, but it sees very limited use from just a
handful of users. I don't know if WSS is the right tool for the job
given the number of users, traffic, demand, and potential for growth.
I was thinking that I could drag/drop content through DSClient into
the file structure of SharePoint. The DS db is around 3gb, so it's not
big. The folders, however, are very deeply nested and inconsistent.
We're also using DS to handle a few thousand logins rather than AD. We
had trouble getting DS4 to work with AD, but heard that newer versions
work. The plan is to use AD for the new SP site.
So? Any suggestions? Is there such a thing as a 'magic bullet'
application to move everything from DS to SP? Has anyone outsourced
the procedure?
