Images still pending after being approved in Sharepoint 2007

This just started and I have no idea what is causing it but when I go
into approve a pending image in a published image library, the status
of the image is still pending. I have rights to approve and publish as
I have done this before. I have tried multiple images, GIF, JPEG,
different sizes, but it's the same thing, still pending. Anybody seen
this? No errors in the event log and nothing under the log file.

I've had similar problems, not just with images but other docs and I
usually have to try approving through SharePoint Designer, or through
Site Actions>> Manage All Site Content. Working between those worked
for in getting those approved.
