    - Visio and Sharepoint (I had posted this in an unmanaged newsgroup, so here it is again.) MOSS 2007 Visio can pull data from SharePoint lists. http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-gb/library/bb229690.aspx I have the visio file and the data on the same SharePoint site. When I open the visio file it works fine. I have added a web content web part and used that to load visio viewer and display the visio file side by side with the data that it takes. Unfortunately, the visio file only updates when someone opens the visio file with the full visio applications. I was hoping the visio viewer in the web part would show the current data from the SharePoint lists and not wait for someone to open the file with visio and save changes. Any thoughts?     - custom workflow deployment Hi, I developed a workflow using WF and have some problem on deployment. If I install the assembly in GAC it works fine, but now I want to use custom policy, so I copy the assembly into the virtual server Bin folder, create a custom policy based on WSS_Medium template, and then modify web.config accordingly; but it doesn't work and failed in the workflow initialization page. The same method works for web part, but not workflow! I set almost all the permission to be Unrestricted but still doesn't work. I'm pretty sure its related to the security, as if I change trust level to Full in web.config file, it works immediately. Does anydoby know what went wrong?     - Permissions Question I have setup a forms library for users to submit sensitive info. The infopath form once submitted should be available for the submitting user to see but other users should not be able to see other users documents. Are there any suggestions on how to trim security settings so that users can only add and not view? I have tried to create a new permission level called "submit only" where users can only "add items" but SharePoint has Add and View linked together. Any suggestions? Tag: Email address Tag: 97440

    - wss 3.0 sharepoint designer workflow email issue I have setup a workflow in sharepoint designer we are running wss 3.0 & I have also tried this on a moss enterprise site with the same results the site email alerts work fine. I have setup up a workflow that runs, but I receiuve no emails. the tasks are created and the steps proceed, except no emails are snet. I see no obvious reason.     - problem with workflows in sharepoint 2007 Hi, when a user initiates a workflow in moss 2007, the assigned user gets an email in outlook 2007. to complete the task, the user opens the task and clicks on "Edit this Task" button - but nothing happens when the button is clicked. anybody know what could be causing this error??? or what i could do to resolve it???? thanks, maria k.     - Deleting files from SPS2003 We are using Sharepoint Portal Server 2003 (spanish version), and when any user try to delete a file from a Document Library, allways receive a message like this: "No se puede completar esta acciÃ³n.     - Image Map designer I'm new to using the SP designer to do updates and I'm having a problem trying to add some HTML to a .aspx page.     - Strange issue Hi All, I have a site and a subsite that are both of type Collaboration -> Blank Site on the subsite, when I check out the default page and discard the checkout, the Default.aspx page displays this error: This page is not using a valid page layout. To correct the problem, edit page settings and select a valid page layout." Also, in "All Site Content" I can see that the page is still reported as being checked out. When I force the UI to undo the checkout, then Default.aspx is viewable by me. Another weird observation, the default.aspx page is still correctly viewable by others.     - Single sign on possible with sharepoint portal and site aggregation pages on portal? Is it possible to have a single sign on between the Sharepoint portal and the site aggregation web part pages, and if so how? This is the scenario: a.. User is challenged when Sharepoint portal site first comes up b.. A site aggregation web part is on the portal page referencing several pages c.. After the site aggregation web part comes up another challenge is presented (which I don't want) d.. The same users have access to Sharepoint portal site as to web pages in site aggregation web part. Although all the pages in the site aggregation web part and the Sharepoint portal server are on the same server they are different web sites on different http ports.     - Personal Site Service URL Question Got a question about URL's for MOSS 2007 and Personal Sites. After installing MOSS 2007, we have the following config: http://sp-3:9991 which is the server given address to the main portal site. http://sp-3:9992 which is the server given address to the personal sites (none of which have been created yet). We changed the managed paths for http://sp-3:9991 to something more user friendly, ie: http://portal.domain.com Currently, the personal sites are still configured as http://sp-3:9992. Is there a way to have it be something like: http://portal.domain.com/personal OR does it need to be it's own separate entity, like http://personal.domain.com Thanks!     - Problem w/ Custom Template "Employee Training Scheduling & Materia I have been in the process of developing a simple LMS for my company and started using the Employee Training Scheduling and Materials Template a few months ago. At that time, 'test' lessons that I created would automatically move from "Courses I am atteding" to "Courses I have attended" after the course end time had passed. I had stopped working on that aspect of the LMS for a while and I am now back in testing mode. Since I've been woking on this again, the Courses are no longer moving. I don't think I was doing anything before to make them move from the "to do" list to the "done" list, but if I was I must have forgotton what it was. I'm thinking the template behavior has changed but I can't imaging what would have caused that. Has anyone experienced this problem where the course does not automatically move from the one list to the after after the class end time has passed?     - Vista/IE7/Office 2007 Ent - IE 5.0+ or Web Folders Needed Explorer view is not working on a new Vista machine. I have verified the SPS support tools are install and the datasheet view works. Greetings, I'm encountering an error while going thru a test run of a MOSS 2007 gradual upgrade within our dev environment (I took a copy of our SharePoint 2003 production enviroment and implemented it here). The error occurs when I'm upgrading the root web application.     - Repeating section in MOSS? Hi, I'm creating some project management sites in MOSS, I'm using sharepoint lists to hold different field values entered by the user. The way it works is one group of users make an entry in the first list, that kicks off a workflow and creates an entry in the second list with some values populated from fields in the first list, then the workflow emails a user to alert him he has to come and fill in the empty fields in this second list and once that's done another workflow kicks off and another taks list then has to be populated for the third stage. The problem I'm having is one of the list fields the user has to fill in at the second stage is for project objectives, when they fill in the different objectives on the third screen I have to put these all into a drop down so each task can be attached to an objective entered on the proviuos screen. I can't see how to get this functionality with the standard sharepoint stuff, if it was in infopath I guess I'd use the repeating section/ table functionality and they could just create a new row for each objective but with sharepoint I can't see an alternative way to do this.     - LDAP authentication - Groups and authorization I have the same problems with the implementation of the RoleManager. However the Ldapusers in that group are not authorized to READ that site? So they are authenticated but not allowed to READ as would the membership of that group assume. I have tried numerous ways to change this but without success. Hope someone can point out what is going on here or what I obviously did wrong. Thanks. I have a user that is browsing to a folder in a document library to upload a document, but when they click upload it asks them to log in as another user. If they use the new button in the toolbar and save thier document from word it works fine, and if I log in as the site collection administrator I can upload fine, but the regular account can't.     - Central Admin can't be reach. I get "can't connect to database" server when I try to browse Central Admin from IIS. I don't get prompt to enter I made a mistake to start installation as domain\admin. After first part was done. I closed the screen to configure central admin, checked neither A database nor a web site were created. Then I logged out, and logged back as domain\sharepointsetupuser. continued the installation for Central Admin. I got prompt to enter login which failed. I can ODBC to the database server. I changed the IIS services to start with sharepoint service account and restart them successfully. I added all the users in spn setup in ad and delegate them all so all the servers in the farm.
