Using SPS 2003 to crawl Public Folders on Exchange 2000
server works in end, but causes email server to bog down
to a point where OWA doesn't respond. Why is the crawl
slowing down my email server so much? Anyone else notice
this problem?

Hi,

Did you try out the effect of adding a site hit frequency
rule, this might reduce the load on your exchange server.

Kind regards,
Nikander & Margriet Bruggeman

Thanks - that seems to work! I changed the site hit
frequency for the Public Folders to do only 1 document at
a time. It took all night to do the crawl, but didn't
seem to affect users at all. We had people accessing
their email remotely all throughout the night - no
complaints.
