Activating "Office SharePoint Server Publishing"

Hi there,

I have a problem creating a new site of type News.
Trying to create it shrepoint announces
<The Office SharePoint Server Publishing Infrastructure feature must be
activated at the site collection level before the Publishing feature can be
activated>

So I go to Site Settings > Site Features and see <Office SharePoint Server
Publishing> as possible to be activeated.
I hit the button <activate> and get the following message:

<
Required Features
One or more features must be turned on before this feature can be
activated.
Office SharePoint Server Publishing Infrastructure
Provides centralized libraries, content types, master pages and page layouts
and enables page scheduling and other publishing functionality for a site
collection. >

Do I have to do any more configuration on the server?

The publishing feature (Site Feature) is dependend on the Publushing
infrastructure feature (Site Collection Feature).

Go to Site Collection Features and activate the infrastructure feature
first!

Where do I have to do?
I open "Central Administration" on the server, open "Site Actions", "Site
Collection features" ...
but this is only for the administration webseite.

My site runs in another site collection, how can a toggle to the other site
collection to access their Site settings?

Hi Kai,

Can you please let me know how you activated this for the site collection. I
am using a Team site template, and not able to activate the Publishing
feature.

Hi did anybody ever get an answer on this?

I'm not how you get the site collection administrator vs the site
administrator.

When I attempted to enable Publishing for (I think) the site, it tells
me other features must fust be enabled/
