    - Preventing auto power-down I have been calling: keybd_event(NULL,NULL,KEYEVENTF_SILENT|KEYEVENTF_KEYUP,NULL); periodically to keep the power from going off when my application is in running. It works on all Pocket PCs that I have tested. But I have heard from one of my clients that it is not working with the new Dell Axim X5 (with ROM version A05).     - Known workaround for "insufficient memory to install" problem? Hello, I'm trying to install the eVC++ 4.0 package that I downloaded from Microsoft's website (so that I can then proceed to develop PocketPC apps), but I keep getting an error message telling me that there's insufficient memory to run the install. This despite the fact that I have twice the recommended memory (I'm running W2K SP3 with 256 MB of RAM) and no programs (except the OS itself, of course) are running. I haven't found anything in the Knowledge Base, and the eVC++ 4.0 product doesn't appear on the Tech Support web page for sending questions to support. Can anyone suggest some workaround for this problem, or perhaps give me more specific information about how to get help from Microsoft for solving the issue?     - Database synchronization I have a Pocket PC device and an MS Access database. I have setup synchronization between the device and the desktop to synchronize some database tables. I am using ActiveSync to perform this function. I have the device set to synchronize only once upon connection. I am having an issue with the synchronization and would appreciate some help. When there is new data in the tables on the Pocket PC and I synchronize, the data will be delivered down to the PC. Now, lets say I leave the database alone on the PC and wipe out the data in the tables on the Pocket PC. I synchronize again, but the data remains on the PC instead of being deleted like it was on the Pocket PC. Is this how it is supposed to work?     - Emailing from Dell Axim I would like to send an email with attached data on an email from a Dell Axim X5 with PPC 2002, using eVC++ 3.0. I have created a new "service" from within Inbox and I am using MailPut to put the finished email into my new services outbox, but it keeps going into the outbox under ActiveSync.     - Problem with installation I have created a setup.exe for my appliction which is nearly 25MB in size. My setup exe works fine, it copies all the .Cab files to the device and also extracts them on the device for installation. I have 32mb storage card and have 40 mb of RAM memory free. During Destop installation, the CEAppMgr ask the destination where to install, I selected "Main Memory".. but it installs in the Storage card? what may be the problem.     - ARG! ASP error reporting is horrible! Help! I've received a large number of complaints about people having great difficulty debugging ASP scripts via CE Web Server. The issue is that by default, WinCE ASP does not give very much information about what went wrong when there's some parsing error in a script - something like 'Parse Error in Script.' It does this by default so as not to reveal any potentially sensitive information about your script to potential hackers. However in doing this is makes life painful for developers trying to figure out what's going wrong with their ASP pages. There is a very easy workaround to get ASP to display more useful information. Just set the registry value: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\COMM\HTTPD\ASP] VerboseErrorMessages=dword:1 You'll need to reset the web server after doing this, because it only reads this registry value on web server startup. I hope this helps.     - Limits of pocket access file format? This is my first foray in the world of Pocket PC programming. I have a Symbol 8100 XScale handheld unit (with 64 meg of memory) I am using for data collection. I have created a Access XP database and have 3 tables that I sync with the handheld. The table structure is Pulled Table Id Text Field Size 50 Inmate Number Text Field Size 50 Location Number Long Integer State Text Field Size 2 Tote Number Number Long Integer Institution Table Institution Number Number Integer Institution Name Text Field Size 125 City Text Field Size 50 State Text Field Size 2 Tote Table Tote Number Long Integer Location Long Integer The Pulled Table has around 13,500 to alittle above 15,000 records. The Institution table has 108 records. The tote table has about 550 records. My questions are: Is there a limitation to the pocket access file format? And If so, is the above stated info exceeding that file format. Everything was working fine till the pulled table hit about 14,000 records. Then Activesync would "freeze" or "hang" when trying to sync the pulled table. Activesync would process the institution table no problem, then the little green circle would just spin and the adosync.txt file would get as far as computing checksums, then just do nothing. The application was written in EVB 3.0 with just one connection statement and data was collected with the integrated barcode scanner. I have found that cdb files have a stated max of 65,535 entries. But, I do not know what the term "entries" is refering to. I figure its records or fields. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.     - Battery Status Monitor Hello, We have developed a flash application for ppc 2003 that uses the GetSystemPowerStatusEx2 to get the battery status. For some reason, the values come back wrong.     - Unable to Uninstall my application. I have a web application created in VS.NET 2003. I have been making changes and packaging it and deploying daily to the development server for testing. Daily I had been uninstalling and re installing the application. Suddenly now the application wont uninstall. It starts the uninstallation and just hangs. I deleted the registry entries and installed it again. But still I am now unable to uninstall. Please let me know how to deal with this. I have just ordered the toshiba e805 pocket pc and I am
wondering what memory cards are compatible with it. I am
interested in high capacity memory cards1 gb or more for
storing e books. I am wondering what is the difference
between compact flash type II and type? I Can both of them
fit in the cf slot of the e 805. Does anyone have any
recommendations?
