    - MSI Package Installer with .NET Compact Framework Hi! I have to deploy a Compact Framework project with a MSI Package installer. But to do this I have to check if Compact Framework and SQL Server CE are installed on device. Can I add the cab from Compact Framework and SQL Server to the MSI Package and install them if there are not installed yet? How can I check if CF and SQL Server are on device in the InstallerDLL?     - Problem installing Windows Mobile 6 SDKs I am trying to install Windows Mobile 6 Standard & Professional SDKs. I installed -- Visual Studio 2005 SP1. -- Active Synch 4.5 -- .Net Compact Framework 2.0 SP2 When I install either of the Windows Mobile SDKs, it says Visual Studio 2005 SP1 is not installed and so can't install the SDK. I tried installing VS 2005 Service Pack 1 twice -- It says: Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 Standard Edition -- ENU Service Pack 1 (KB926601) was successfully installed on Microsoft Visual Studio 200 Standard Edition - ENU. (The second time I installed, it said it was already installed, do I want to reinstall? and I said yes.) In Visual Studio, under Help / About / Installed Products, it lists "Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 Standard Edition - ENU Service Pack 1 (KB926601)". Any ideas how to resolve this?     - CeCopyFile - VB in MS Access Firstly, sorry if this is in the wrong area, but this seemed to be the more active area. I have searched everywhere, both here and via google for an answer on how to use the CeCopyFile function in VB but I can not find the answer I am looking for. I have an Access database I use to push and pull files to and from the PDA to a network server using the functions as provided by Microsoft that everyone seems to use. This works fantastic as I use a table to define the files and paths to complete the transfer of the data to and from. I was asked the other day if I could backup the files on the PDA to itself prior to a transfer of the files from the PDA to the network as a means of safe guarding the data a little more. After a quick google search it appears the CeCopyFile is the way to go and I realise that this only copies files from one location on the PDA to another, which is exactly what i want. The problem is that i do not know how to implement the code in Access to get it to work!     - uploading XML file from pocketPC Hi all, I have an smart device app for Pocket PC written in C#. All the data is collected in XML files which are stored on the device. Now when the user clicks on upload I want to send these files as HTTP POST to a server where a PHP script will read the data. I dont know how to go abt it - use a ASP.NET form or maybe code it in C#.     - Deploying to WMPro And Standard using same CAB Hi, We have develpoed an app for WM6 using C++. The app is targeted to run on WM6 Professional and Standard platforms. We have a HomeScreen plugin for the WM6 Standard and a TodayScreen plugin for WM6 Pro. We would like to have the dlls in the same CAB and then the same cab can be used for either platform. Is there anyway of selectively deploying a certain component of the CAB depending on the platform at runtime. These plugins are the only real differences and thus causing this headache.     - WiFi security. Hi All, We are developing an application through which one should be able to connect to a WiFi network. We could successfully connect to an Access Point (AP), if it is configured as follows, 1. Open (no security or encryption at all.) 2.WEP enabled. (This was set by using the OID_802_11_ADD_WEP OID.) We are using NDISUIO miniport driver to develop the application. The Wireless Zero Configuration service is disabled on the device. Now, we want to connect to an access point which is configured as WPAPSK. (Wifi protected Acess Pre Shared Key). We have understood that the OID used for setting the WPA is OID_802_11_ADD_KEY and a 4-way handshaking process should happen between the AP(Authnticator) and the client device(supplicant) for the successful authentication. The 4-way handshaking starts with sending an EAPOL to AP from the supplicant. We are stuck here and it would be of very help, if someone helps us by giving info on following questions 1. Whether the hand shaking process is initiated by the driver automatically or should we initiate the same? 2. If at all required, how to do the 4-way handshaking process.(using ndisuio or by any other means)?. 3. How to set the KeyMaterial field in the NDIS_802_11_KEY structure?     - Reduce EXE Size for Emulator I've got a small app (658 kb) that I need to test on the Pocket PC 2003 Emulator. By default, the emulator only includes 24 MB of RAM. Whenever I try to run my app through VS2005, it copies over whatever it needs to run, but before my app can start, I get "Error 0x80070070: There is not enough space on the disk." When I go to the emulator and look at the list of programs in storage memory under the "Remove Programs" applet, there are no programs listed. Whenever I go to my BIN folder to look at what all is being copied over, I see a host of DLLs that do not even need to be there! The biggest one is System.Web.dll, at 5,304 KB, and I do not reference that in my project anywhere! My question is 2 part, and I'll entertain answers on either or both: 1) How to I get these unnecessary DLLs to stop being included in my output folders (Debug or Release)? They are *not* listed in my project list of References, and the files that are listed (mscorlib, System, System.Data, System.Data.SqlClient, System.Drawing, System.Windows.Forms, and System.Xml) are not included in the executable for my app. 2) How do I increase the disk space available to my emulator? Our PPC devices all have 64 MB, so I'd like to increase the emulator memory to match. My RAM size is set to double that (128) in VS2005's "Tools > Options > Device Tools > Devices > Pocket PC 2003 SE Emulator Properties... > Emulator Options...", but still my emulator only has 24 MB.     - Bluetooth application on IMX31 processor running wince 6.0 Hi I have following doubts about "bluetooth on IMX31 processor running wince 6" 1) IMX31 based development board has APM6xxx bluetooth/wifi combo model that uses CSR chip.This module uses UART interface. One of the documents downloaded from Freescale site contains information about drivers and APIs for peripheral devices like display, ATA, Audio ,Keypad etc. But I did not find any document explaining bluetooth. If you know any document expalining the same, please let me know. 2)Does CSR based bluetooth device use the Microsoft's Bluetooth Protocol stack and API or any third pary stack? If Microsoft stack , then bluetooth based applications can be developed using either Winsock API or Virtual COM ports. But Winsock API is the preferred method because Virtual COM port method has some drawbacks. (This is as per Douglas Boling 's book).     - Connecting to WPA2 using WZCSetInterfaceEx Hi, I am trying to connect to WPA2 using WZCSetInterfaceEx. Unfortunately, OpenNETCFdoes not provide a wrapper to connect to WPA2 as far as I know. So I have to use the native API to do so. Anyway, I looked at the wzctool.cpp from WinCE installation and I selected the relevant lines to connect to WPA2. I am doing WZCPassword2Key for the keyMaterial before passing it to WZCSetInterfaceEx. Is this ok? Anyway, I am not able to connect using my below program, but I was able to do so using the phone UI. After getting the request Listener will return DateTime and TimeZone . The Requesting machine (PPC) will update Date and Time . Only problem is unable to update TimeZone using C#.Net in PPC This is the default method that I plan to use for my application since the listener will be residing on the server where the data will be pulled/pushed. 3. Sync with Help of Yahoo free time web service . Our Own TimeSync web service will be hosted with any database server or any server . The service will return DateTime and TimeZone of the Hosted Server . PPC time Sync application will get this details and update local date and time .     - Error Reporting - wince501bexception - debugger doesn't catch I have a WM 5 application written in C++ / MFC using VS 2005. When error reporting is turned off, everything runs great. When error reporting is turned on, there is a particular place in the app where an error pops up with the Send / Don't send option. If you close this window, the app continues on just fine. When I look at the details of the error, it says the EvntType is WinCE501bException. When I run it in debug mode, the debugger doesn't catch any exceptions. On Load, each panel's Dock property is set to Fill, I call BringToFront() for my first panel, then call its Focus() method. Based on Operator selection, different panels are brought to the front and given focus. I have noticed that the first time a panel is given focus, the GotFocus() event is fired and my GotFocus event handler is called. This is very important for some of my panels, because it handles setting up the panel before it is displayed. However, after a panel's GotFocus event handler has been called and I go to another panel, calling the previous panel's BringToFront() and Focus() methods do not appear to fire my GotFocus event handlers. The panels are still brought to the front and focus seems to have been given to them, though.     - Sleep() time doubled when using emulator I'm using the Sleep() function in an EVC 4.0 project that I'm testing on Pocket PC 2003 and Smartphone 2003 emulators. On both emulators a call to Sleep(30000) takes 60 seconds to return instead of 30. Has anyone seen this behavior before? Is it just something related to the emulator, or should I plan for this same behavior on an actual device? When I call OpenAttach it succeeds and gives me an IStream pointer. But stream size is 0 and if I try to read I just get success with 0 bytes every time I read.
