Hello;

I am new in PDA business. I have a Pocket PC made by Medion. The OS is
Windows 2003.

I bought the PDA for my wife and she entered all of her contacts and tasks
and . into it but forgot to charge it in time and bang! All of the data was
gone.

What I would like to know is if there is any way that I can set the system
to generate a beep or other type of warning when its battery nearly dead?

Is there any free software that I can get?

I am a C++ programmer and have a let of experience in writing C++ for
windows but I never write code for PDA. Can I write such software by myself?
What do I need other than MSVC 7 that I have?

Best Regards

Did you look on the CD that came with your ppc? Some ppc's come with
additional programs- my Asus has 2 different programs as well as the
universal one- activesync.

They have activesync on it so that you can connect the ppc to your pc,
and if you look on the menus of options available there is a
backup/restore option. If you don't have the CD it is a free download
from microsoft.

Other than that there are programs you can buy to backup.

btw- this is one of the best cross-postings I've seen in a while. Try
and find a relevant group or couple of groups and use them- some people
won't respond to such over zealous cross-postings, and it is
understandable. What relevance is ebooks etc to your question? You want
help and co-operation so try and be a little more selective.

I'm not sure, but the important thing is to develop the habit of using the
device the way it is intended, i.e. when it is not in use, it should be
sitting in the cradle charging. It's not a case of waiting until it "needs"
charging. Likewise synchronise the data with a PC, then if you do lose the
data, it's easy to restore it.

of these newsgroups but I think I mistakenly select them during posting
instad of selection them to subscribe to them. Sorry you all guys!
