never programmed but want to learn

Hello all,
I am interested in starting to program for my new dell axim 400 MHz. I have
no info on programming but want to start. I bought a thing for getting
started and it used embeded visual basics 3.0. I downloaded, and says that
i need to start with a software platform windows ce for the pocket pc
project, but all i have is windows ce formless project. I have also
downloaded evc4 and sp2, microsoft pocket pc 2003 sdk, and also found a
learn to build mobile apps from the microsoft page, but when i went to
install it it asks for .net framework version 1.1.4322...I went to
microsoft's website and downloaded dotnetfx. I just want to know if i'm on
the right track or not. I'm pretty efficient with computers and have always
wanted to start programming. Later, I'd like to start a webpage made for
pda viewing. Any help anyone could give me would be greatly appreciated.

What I would advice you to do is start with some reading. A good place to
begin is here:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/mobility/understanding/gettingstarted/. In the
articles you will also find references to some books you might want to check
out. To find out more about the different development tools you also might
want to read the following:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/en-us/dncenet/html/apdvlscape.asp. Hope
