    - OLE DB crash... Hi. I am using VS2005 to create an app for WM5. I use OLE DB to access a SQL Mobile 3 database. I am really a beginner when it comes to OLE DB (having worked a lot with ADO before), but I have managed to run SQL statements successfully, and are now trying to read data. I create a rowset based on a SELECT statement. In one case I select from a simple table with two fields, and that works great. But if I select from a table that has 21 fields, it actually crash'es...     - Mobile 5.0 deploy multiple CAB - wce-load.exe Issue: Using setup.dll in my applications CAB to install support CABs (ie: sql.ppc3.arm.CAB and sqlce.ppc3.arm.CAB). I am trying to provide backwards compatibility for Microsoft Mobile 5.0 OS. A little history.I developed a mobile application that ran perfect on Dell Axim versions 5.0 and earlier on Windows CE version OS. Now that our clients are purchasing Dell Axim 5.1/5.1v the app fails. This is because the OS was "upgraded" to Windows Mobile 5.0 for these new devices, which includes Compact Framework 2.0 also upgraded. To resolve the failure; I downloaded the Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 and re-compiled my application/s. I adjusted references to library components as needed and I added a CAB project. Made a few edits in the .inf and put the package together. Everything installs on the mobile device BUT the supporting CABs (mentioned above) do NOT automatically install as they did before. I will get "compact frame work" related errors until I manually initiate install of the additional CABs. Then everything works fine. No changes to the setup.dll code were made except I re-compiled in VS '05 for support on Windows Mobile 5.0 Pocket PC SDK (ARMV4I). Question: Is there sample C++ code that shows how to create a setup.dll for Mobile 5.0 that will auto install multiple supporting CABs and will run on Mobile 5.0 OS? I'm only running one instance of wceload.exe.     - Problems installing Windows Mobile 5.0 Pocket PC SDK! Hi, I have VS 2005 installed on Windows XP Pro with SP2 installed, and it works great. Now, however, I've lost many hours trying to install the WM5.0 Pocket PC SDK. When I downloaded the WM5.0 Pocket PC SDK, and attempted to install it, it went fine for awhile, and then Microsoft Antispyware noticed the scripts running, and gave me an endless sequence of warning dialogs asking me whether I wanted to allow the current script. I told it to allow them, and to remember the response, but the dialogs kept coming. Eventually I had to halt the installation, and turn off MS Antispyware. When I tried to re-run the installation, it thought it was already installed, so I selected the "Repair" option. It got most of the way through the process, but eventually it just stopped responding, behind the scenes. The installation dialog remained on the screen, as if everything was going along fine, and the only enabled button was "Cancel". But for more than half an hour the Task Manager said that the installation process was using 0% of the processor, and clearly nothing was happening on the machine. The same thing happened when I tried to uninstall it. It also happened when I tried to re-install it. I've tried each of them a number of times. During these attempts, MS Antispyware was turned off, as well as Norton Internet Security and Norton Antivirus. Anyway, I can't install it, I can't uninstall it, and I can't repair it. In each case it merrily goes through most of its process and then behind the scenes, stops doing anything -- leaving only the "Cancel" button enabled.     - Windows Mobile 5 Security Model Folks, I, like a lot of others, have been working to move environments from WM 2003 to WM5. In my case I have developed a Portable Operating Environment that customises settings, install applications etc, for a range of devices in a large enterprise. I have used a mixture of XML provisioning and custom applications to achieve this. With WM 5 the security model has caused me some difficulty. Specifically the problems that I had to resolve were: - allow RAPI calls to work. - install cabs silently. These cabs are a mixture of our own and third party. To resolve these problems I have written a custom application to change the security settings as well as signing the cabs and custom applications using a certificate created from a self signed root certificate. The concerns I have going forward are these: - The MobileToMarket code/cab signing process is really not suitable for an Enterprise. To have to constantly send binaries and cabs for signing by third parties is not practical imo. I believe provision should be made for code signing installation within an enterprise. I note in the Windows Mobile Team blog that there are issues installing certificates with Smart Phones (http://blogs.msdn.com/windowsmobile/archive/2005/11/03/488924.aspx#comments) as well. - Robert Levey advised (http://msdn.microsoft.com/newsgroups/default.aspx?dg=microsoft.public.pocketpc.developer&mid=540a5669-97f9-44ff-aa09-59f291b8858a&sloc=en-us) in response to an earlier post of mine that we can not rely on being able to manipulate the security model in the future. If this is the case then Microsoft will have to provide a means of tailoring devices to suit an enterprise's needs, again imo. These issues lead me to wonder if WM5 devices are really suitable for deployment in an enterprise.     - WM5, wceload with /nouninstall Folks, On a Dell Axim 51V I have noticed that the wceload /nouninstall switch appears to have no effect. That is, there is a line in Remove Programs for the application that was installed. With WM 2003 this did not occur. Are additional steps required on WM5 devices? It does not appear to matter whether I install the cabs silently or not. My program works very well with windows mobile 2003.
I have installed it on windows mobile 2005 pocket (ipaq hx2790).
It runs but the pocket launch my program automaticly every 5 min.
There is no task programmed.
Somebody with an idea ??????
