 - Capturing stylus clicks into a sequend, and then repeat them (macros) Hi What kind of applications are there that are able to capture the stylus clicks on a PPC device; and then replay the clicks later? ie. I want to record a sequence of stylus clicks on an application, and then use this sequence to do automated testing of some softwares. Does such tools exists for the PPC environment. Then just for curiousity, what API should I look at to get more information about this. Is it possible to capture the stylus clicks? It must be if you put a window on top of everything, that records the clicks. But how do you later fake a stylus click on an application?  - PPC-6000 and PocketPC App I have a PPC-6600 phone with 128 MB ram I have been testing an appliation on. The application uses Sybase SQLAnywhere database loaded on the phone and is written in Sybase Pocketbuilder. The app runs fine until a phone call is made where there is an answer. If the app was not running it will then no longer launch (the database does not start)or if the app is running the app gives error messages incidacting the database has been shut down and the database cannot be restarted.  - Negative difference between QueryPerformanceCounter values Hello, For an application I am writing I am time stamping each byte as it comes in. I am using the following code to read in the byte and record it as it comes in. I then find the difference between the times at which the bytes came and build a new array of time differences. The only thing is that sometimes I get negative values within this differential time array which doesnâ??t make much sense to me. Other times Iâ??ll get almost all negative values with a few positive ones. The only reasons I can think of is that the performance counter loops around and the occasional negative value is the result of this. But, does that explain the times when I get a majority of negative values with a few positives? If I replace the ReadFile with a sleep(10) I get times that make sense.  - Createprocess and login page Hello, I am using createprocess to call an application which needs the user to login. I have 2 buttons on the login page one is login and the other is exit, when I pass the username and password as Commandline args to Createprocess and try to login, instead of login the exit button is clicked. I can see the login page and the application immediately exits. The application to which I want the user to login is a 3rd party application so I cannot make any modifications to that. Is there a way that I can direct the control to the login button so that the user can log in. Also the user shouldnt know that he is logging to a 3rd party application so I cannot call createprocess without the arguments too. Any help is appreciated.  - HP 4700 slowwwwwwww deploy in Visual studio 2003? Hello Our company recently aquired an HP 4700 PDA for testing a PocketPC application. The overall size of the .NET dlls and executables for the application are less than 2MB and we connect using a fast USB port to a P-4 HT 3 GHz processor class machine on which we run MSVS 2003. For some reason the deployment is extremely slow when we try to deploy and debug from Visual Sudtio (Build->Deploy) or (Debug->Run). We tried deploying to both main memory as well as an SD card and in both instances the thing keeps deploying for 4-5 actual minutes. It works in the end but its very frustrating sitting there and waiting, especially since MSVS also freezes up during the time. Anyone had similiar experiences with the HP 4700? After each set of data has been collected (normally 10 times day) I need to be able to attach a file of results to an email and send it so that data is not lost if anything happens to the handheld device. For first one all is clear - just take tools from MS site and start: - native or - NET level applications development. But what if I want more? If I wanna use very efficient DSP subsystem? - is there any SDK from HP? - is inter-core communication described anywhere? Questions are related to standard configuration - Win Mobile and so on - I just wanna to add my application to working system - do not break it . And DSP subsystem can provide necessary features (calculation power and effectiveness). For Linux (emb) all is clear - there is kernel port for 1510 chip and one of way how to use and how ARM-DSP cores communicate is described here: http://dspgateway.sourceforge.net/pub/index.php I've tried it - all is working well and development flow is clear.  - How can I register my service in PocketPC ? Hi, I want to write an application that should be running all the time without user intervention. Initially, I thought of putting it in \windows\startup folder. In that case, the application will be launched automatically if the device is soft reset but if the application is manally stopped, then it will not be launched. So, I came across services.exe which comes with PocketPC 2003. I have written a service dll and exposed the resquired functions.  - Handling low memory? Any suggestions on this? I have a PPC application that currently just writes data to a file until the write fails. When the device was out of space it froze and was not even able to boot due to the no space condition. I was forced to do a hard reset. I thought the OS would take care of this, but I guess not.  - LoadLibrary call on Pocket PC Mobile Ed 2003 vs Windows CE.Net 4.2 Hi there, Are there differences in behaviour with LoadLibrary() between CE.Net 4.2 and Pocket PC Mobile Edition 2003? I've got some code that has been working great on a CE.Net 4.2 device. The code calls LoadLibrary to load in a custom DLL. The same device was upgraded to run Pocket PC Mobile Edition 2003. Now my software is failing at the LoadLibrary call. Calling GetLastError() returns "module not found". This situation perplexes me given that the library exists alongside the executable. The application should looks like a page with one question and the ability to move to the next question or back to the previous one, let the user chose an answer and when finished, place the unit on a docking, tranfer all the answers and compile the results and print a detailed report of the questions and the answers the user gave and the correct answer and an explaination. Concerning the architecture, I have a principal application doing the treatments I want, and 2 "language-dlls" (one in english, one in french) which only contain the resources that I will use in the main application. So, according to the users language choice in the main programm, I load one or the other dll.  - Resolutions higher than VGA on Dell Axim x50v? Hi Dell sell a cable to connect the Axim x50v to an external VGA monitor. Does anyone know whether it's possible to tweak the display driver etc. to output higher resolutions than VGA, e.g. SVGA (800*600) or XGA(1024*768)? The particular use isn't to run the PPC interface at a higher resolution but rather for a custom OpenGL app using the PowerVR OpenGL ES hardware accelerated implementation. I know the graphics chip used by the Dell, Intel's 2700G chip is capable of higher resolutions, it's more a question of whether it's possible to tweak the PPC driver to enable those resolutions etc. Thanks Tag: active sync error need help Tag: 92689

Before having installed it had the version Activate Sync 3.7.1, and now I have installed the new version 3.8, but already I cannot connect and debugged from the environment .NET .  - Another case of "dllhell" Hello, we have a solution with about 10 single projects included in VS .NET using C#. There are a lot of links to refered dlls. For every developer in our company these settings must be done again, because the links vanish with error or link the wrong dll at startup (for example debug/release version, wrong path). Sometimes the links getting wrong during develop phase. VS seems to load the first dll version that can be found, but I can see no rule in this behavior. What are the rules?  - wm2003 standard SDK Bluetooth query Hi All Ive developed an application which controls bluetooth in a simple way. on/discoverable/off. This works perfectly on most pocketpc phone edition devices such as the imate II. However on an svp m2000 the standard api does not appear to do anything. I knocked up a simple test app that does nothing else but the bluetooth control via buttons using plain win32 code and still nothing. Is there a way around this? Any info would be appreciated.  - Windows Mobile 2003 SE VGA Screen Bug? Hi, I have a problem and I need your help. I post it again. It seems that the MFC has some problems (or bugs) with VGA screen. I guess some message is not called somehow. This problem only has been occured in VGA mode (QVGA works fine). I tested both on WM 2003 SE emulator and iPAQ hx4700 I get wrong client size with GetClientRect in OnInitialUpdate event. I seems that it's not the only one problem and I found another problem (refer bug2.jpg). I'm trying to connect to a pocket pc 2003 with evc++ 4.0 and when I try and
connect via activessync I get the following error: "The Microsoft ActiveSync
reported the following error: Unable to load device side components. Please
check the server consiguration settings."

I have the transport and startup server set to activesync.

I am not able to guess wht are the changes i need to do.
