Hi everybody,

When I Install my program to Pocket PC ,It works fine if I install it
,IF
I choose cancel then It will show me Add/Remove Programs Dialog Box
But don't want it.I want that It will simply exit from installation.

When I want to Uninstall my program then It will show me Add/Remove
Programs Dialog box and show me list of programs installed on that but
I don't want that list I just want to remove my application,

The Negative point here is that during my program installation and
uninstallation,Due to Add/Remove Program Dialog box ,client can remove
other programs installed on Pocket PC.I don't want that user is able
to remove othe programs.
How can I stop Add/Remove Programs Dialog Box or even if It is
display,It will only show my Program.

Microsoft ActiveSync 3.7.1 is installed on my Desktop PC.

If any one has solution, please tell asap, I would be greatful.

Are you asking about Add/Remove using the tool in the ActiveSync
dialog box on the desktop? If so, I haven't heard of anyway to
restrict access to that tool, or to change its behavior.

If you are asking about restricting access on the handheld, I may be a
bit more helpful.

I haven't heard of anyway to change the behavior of the Add/Remove
tool. But you could restrict access to the tool, at least after
installation. This would be part of a general "lock down" that would
restrict access to most things other than your program. For more info,
use google (http://groups.google.com/advanced_group_search) to look up
kiosk
in microsoft.public.pocketpc.developer.
If you want to let users remove your program, you could provide a menu
item in your program.

Eliminating any chance of seeing Add/Remove during installation is
trickier. The only way I can think of is to write your own
installer/remover.

That is the way the program is written. Just cancel from this dialog.

Add/Remove seems to hint that you can remove programs? Perhaps removing them
is uninstalling?
Some programs may not use this standard approach. If the uninstall isn't
there then look on your PC, for example some programs add a remove option
onto a link off the Windows Start Menu.

That will stop the user from easily uninstalling any other programs they may
install. Is that what you want- to make it difficult to remove all programs
they install? That doesn't sound wise for your users and I wouldn't buy or
use your software if you removes such an important option from me- I think
most users would actively denounce your software and sensible users wouldnt
install it. What makes you think you have the right to remove such options
from users machines?

In many companies, employees act like and are treated like children.
In particular, they are given computers _only_ if those computers have
severe restrictions, such as this. I am glad I do not work at such a
company, but many programmers, and some of my customers, do. This is
one of those situations where "customers" and "users" are distinctly
different folks. The original poster has the "right" to remove such
options because their customer/boss requires such a "feature". And the
customer/boss has the "right" to make such a requirement because they
are paying for the software and the employees that use it. Much as I
revere and appreciate our civil liberties, I don't think the users'
"rights" are being violated, at least in any legal sense.
