HI all,

When I send some data (using IPAQ) over the network using GPRS enabled mobile (NOKIA 6600) acting as modem, what will be actual bytes sent?

I mean to say that if my actual data is of 149 bytes, then total bytes transferred calculated is based on actual payload, that is, 149 bytes or more than that which includes headers payload as well.

On nokia phone I have found that NOKIA 6600 phone shows me ~500 bytes or .40 Kb transferred over the GPRS for each request of 149 bytes.

Is that same bit happening to you guys? I have knowledge of how data transferred calculation is done. Your help will be appreciated.

If actual calculation is done based on (Header payload + actual payload), then that means GPRS will prove to be very costly, may be beyond exceptions, when a web page of >300Kb(pictures) is download using mobile browser because each page will be broken down into fragments and each fragment will have its own headers payload.

Little bit of knowledge from you will be helpful to me.

Thanks
