    - Pocket PC 2002 app fails to exit cleanly on 2003 I have been developing a 2002 application for several months. It work well and I have no problems. Using MFC, IP sockets, GPRS and multi-threading. On 2003, it does not exit cleanly. It will freeze for about 5 - 10 seconds before completely exiting. I can of course hide it from the use first to give the impression it has exited. But I would like to know what may be going wrong?     - NSTL by pass ?? Hello, My customer asked me to pass the NSTL testing, and the I pretest by my self. When I Run "Storage Device Block" testing program on my PCC2003, my system will be leg.. You know, the OS has no response at the 4004 testing item.     - firmware bug in Viewsonic V36 (PPC 2003) There is an interesting bug in the firmware of the Viewsonic V36 running (Pocket PC 2003), causing it to somehow change the width of some dialogs, which can cause some controls to not display properly.     - disable keyboard I have a web app running asp pages on pocket PCs. Some of the input fields require scanning barcodes, so I need to disable the keyboard that automatcally pops up. I need to do this on a field by field basis, since some fields require the keyboard but others do not. Is there an onfocus event that I can use to turn the keyboard off and on? Thanks for any info.     - File Transfer Problem Hii Everyone, I got a fundamental problem. I add a file to my project in .net compact C#, and set it to Build Action to Content. The basic objective is when I deploy my solution it uploads the file to the emulator. This works fine. Now when I use a FileStream object to read bytes of from this file I find that my middle bytes have different values then they have on the desktop. For instance value of a byte(213) in the file on the disk is decimal value, 62 and the same byte in my pocket pc application has decimal value 65. Why is this happening? In my pocket pc app I am not doing any thing except use a FileStream object with the path of the file and then I declare a byte array and BinaryReader ReadBytes method to read into my byte array. So when I inspect this byte array i find that the bytes are no longer having the same decimal values. As I gave the e.g. above byte # 213 on the PC has 62 and on the Pocket PC emulator has 65. And this is not for only this byte but many other. The file that I am referring to is a JPG file. Please suggest me what could be wrong and what is the way out?     - Smart Device Extension Required Dear ALL, I would like to say firstly that I followed Microsoft links and I do know that they want to push you towards buying .Net 2003. I can not afford this and I will not be force into it. I spent time saving for an Visual Studio .Net 2002 and my wife will not allow me to upgrade. I have purchased a iPaq Pocket PC to replace my Visor (which I programmed a lot using AppForge) but now want to rewrite some of me apps using VB.Net. I am aware of Embedded Visual Tools (VB 3) and Embedded Visual C++ 4 (learning is required). Someone out there must have the SDE add-in that will work on my existing Visual Studio.Net 2002., again I can not upgrade to 2003 or use the Trail version. Im trying to write some information to a file, then close it and save it (whathaveyou). Then I try to open it up again and read the information that is stored in it.     - Beaming files/information using bluetooth and infrared I am currently working on a Pocket PC application in C#. I would like to allow the users to beam information from one instance of our program to another instance running on a seperate Pocket PC. Furthermore I would like to let the user select which wireless method to use for the beaming, bluetooth or infrared. The problem is I can't find any in depth information on how to beam files using bluetooth. I know I could use the IrDAClient class for infrared communication, but I would rather have one solution that could use both beaming methods. I have heard about OBEX, and was wondering if anyone could point me to a good reference on using OBEX? Or a reference on how to do this using another technique?     - Cannot find file. I am developing a Pocket PC 2003 application that also relies on a 3rd party dll (I have full source for both). I'm using eVC++ 4.0. I compile, link and download both the dll (to \Windows) and then my exe (to \) to the emulator. When I try to run the exe I get the following message: Cannot find 'xxx' (or one of its components). Make sure the path and filename are correct and all the required libraries are available. Where xxx is the name of my executable. I created a small test program which relies on the dll. Removing the reliance resulted in a running dummy application. Converting the dll to a static lib is not an option. Any thoughts on what I can try.     - Expert Help Needed! MFC dialog code working on emulator but not device Hi, I am using Dell Axim X5 PDA, Pocket PC, eMVC++ 3.0, MFC and I am developing a Dialog based application. Everything has been working ok until I had the following scenario: I have a dialog that on INIT_DIALOG loads strings onto a multiple select list. The string comes from an array in an object that is passed to this dialog by reference. After I select some members of the list I output the selected strings on another dialog using a multiline read only CEdit control on the WM_PAINT event. This works fine on the emulator but freezes on the Device after I select the strings from the list i.e. the output dialog does not open up with DoModal(). Sometimes as I exit the application on the emulator the last window to close freezes. Before strings were selected from a list of checkboxes (instead of multiple select list) and this didn't cause the problem on the device despite that I don't know how to load checkboxes dynamically. I see a similar problem when I load the same strings on a CComboBox on WM_INIT_DIALOG and try outputing them to the same output dialog. Please help. Adolph.     - PocketPC 2003 Emulator Hello, I have some problem to start up pocket PC 2003 emulator. I installed eMbedded VC++ 4.0, SP2, .net framework 1.1 and .net framework 1.1 SDK, Windows mobile 2003 SDK, on my windows XP pro. workstation. Once I go to Tools, Configure Platform manager, click PocketPC 2003 emulator, then click property, Click the Configure button to the right of the Startup Server drop-down list box. The Emulator Configuration settings page doesn't come out, instead, it says this server doesn't need any configuration. Once I click test once I choose manual server option. I get the following erros: Make sure the following files on the device: \WINDOWS\tcpipc.dll \WINDOWS\cemgrc.exe \WINDOWS\cetlstub.dll Plus launch the cdmgrc.exe with the following switch: /T:TCPIPC.DLL /Q /D:10.0.0.34:1188 Once I run cdmgrc.exe /T:TCPIPC.DLL /Q /D:10.0.0.34:1188 I got the following error: the application doesn't run win32. If I go to All program files, microsoft pocket PC SDK, pocket PC SDK command prompt, and type emuascfg /ppc. I got the same error as shown above. Any idea? TIA.     - ActiveX I have an ocx control that was done in EVC++ 3.0 for Pocket PC 2002. Recently I tried compiling the same ocx using EVC++ 4.0 for Pocket PC 2003. The problem is it does not register the control properly. It cannot retrieve the ID from the resource. I checked the error from the container. CoCreateInstance of OLE control failed. We havce an application which is loaded from RAM with the following familiar sequence: a) hourglass appears b) a period of nothing on the screen c) the splash screen appears d) the application appears.     - XP Theme Support Does anyone know if there is plans to support the XP theme buttons in the Pocket PC operating system? We are developing a program to run through terminal services and would like the XP theme support to display on the device.     - Some weird MFC problem in Pocket PC 2003 in VGA res Hi all, I have noticed this weird problem in MFC of WM 2003: - Compiled a MFC non document single view application target Pocket PC platform. - Run the app in Pocket PC 2000, 2002 in high resolution (VGA) without any problem. - Run the app in Pocket PC 2003 in standard 240x320 resolution without any problem - Run the app in Pocket PC 2003 in VGA resolution, then the MFC message mapping mess up in the main frame window (CFrameWnd). In my case, WM_TIMER is handled by other message handler, not the designated one. If I compile the app target Pocket PC 2003 platform, then everything is fine. I reviewed my code carefully, and have tested it with Entrek toolbox, so there should be no buffer overwritten or memory corruption. This must be a compatibility issue between MFC in previous Pocket PC and recent Windows Mobile 2003 for Pocket PC. Have any one experienced this problem ? Hi,

I'am starting to use eVB develop tools from MS.
and i have downloaded the ipaq h5550 SDK with almost all
there API calls and functions.
butt i don't know how to use (or address) or use such a function.
It states that you use the iPAQutils.dll.

How has a example or how knows to use the specific iPAQ functions
in Embedded Visual Basic from the iPAQutils.dll??????
