    - Possible to get DLL loaded into Pocket Outlook? Hi, I have developed a custom form for Pocket Outlook that allows users to create a new email message of my own type. This works fine. My problem is that I need to change the message class of certain incoming emails so that they can be read with my custom form, if that makes sense (unfortunately I can't guarantee that mails coming from different systems will set the message class). My current solution is to have a seperate process use the State & Notification broker to check for new emails, and if one is received process the Inbox and change the message class of messages matching my criteria. It would be more ideal to lump the two things together into the same DLL as my custom form. So, is there any way to get Pocket Outlook to load a custom DLL at startup?     - Compiling C# PC-based Library to Windows Mobile Library I have no way of specifying a Windows Mobile 5.0 target in my desktop library project. Is there a way to do this? Or am I going to have to manually create a new Windows Mobile library project and copy over the source files for every single project?     - VB .net/Pocket PC I created a software in VB.Net with databases pocket access and sqlce. The unit is a Dell X50. My problem is that often while I am using the software, the program gets closed unexpected. No error, no exception. In system/memory it shows me that I still have 7-8M free.     - intermittent drop-outs and hangs using WavIn audio... The application I've written (C#) uses the WaveIn Audio facility to make brief periodic audio recordings. The application works well, except that 2-4% of the recordings are missing some or all of the audio data, and 0.1-0.5% of the time the application hangs without error or locking up the system. I've Googled on the terms "wavein intermittent" and "MM_WIM_DATA intermittent" and have found only one relevant post (below) that is consistent with the problem I am encountering, but now potential solution or work-around was given. http://opennetcf.org/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=4217 My application is being used exclusively on ~20 Dell Axim X50 and X51, running both Windows Mobile 2003 and 5.0. I have a requirement to import a CSV file of phone numbers into the phone and incorporate it into a speed dial function or into the contacts section.     - VB.NET dataset being dumped I have a app that is writing a dataset out to xml on the device. Well i have run into a couple of very strange issues that i cant seem to track down. First issue was duplicate records, one day i was inputing data, and went to review it at the end of the day, and had 3 dupes in the dataset. Havent run into that one again though, but i am thinking it may be related to the second. That one is as follows, every once in a while not even really sure of a time frame yet as i just noticed it was doing this, the data in the XML (and i assume the data in the dataset) is being removed. Not sure why, and i have not really been able to reproduce this problem. I manged to get it to do it one time, but i did several things at once to try and make it fail. But havet been able to make it happen again. Could this be caused by the device going in and out of standby? or maybe on and off the cradle? Has anyone else experienced any of these issues?     - MIcrosoft Platform Builder Hi All, Has anyone tried using Platform Builder Kernel debugger (kdstub)? I have tried for quite some time but is still unable to connect Platform Builder to my device for debugging. Platform Builder is always in 'The Kernel Debugger is waiting to connect with target' status. My device is connected via USB cable to the COM port and I have already loaded the image to the device with other tools. My device has no Ethernet port. I understand that in order to use kdstub, I need to include Kernel Debugger capability in the image. I am doing a release build but have undefined IMGNODEBUGGER (i.e enable kernel debugger) and IMGNOKITL (i.e enable KITL). However, I cannot find kdstub.dll in the release directory. What I have are kd.dll, osaxst0.dll and osaxst1.dll. Is this the reason why Platfrom Builder cannot connect to my device? If yes, how do I include kdstub.dll in the image? Also, may I know if it is a must to specify a transport in 'Target->Connectivity Option' before Platform Builder can connect to the device? What if transport is set to 'NONE', can it still connect?     - Transcriber - Disabling Gestures I'm writing a math flashcard application that uses the Transcriber. This works well except forwhen my son goes to enter the number 4. What happens in about 1 out of 4 times is instead of recognizing a 4 it does the space gesture |___ . It should run Windows CE 5.0, GetVersionEx returns OS version 5.0, build 1400, but it looks more like a Windows CE 2. My app, which is written for PPC 2003 and above, doesn't run. Since the user interface is in korean, I can't read the error message. Some web sites state that there is a Pocket PC emulator on the device, but I haven't found it yet.     - Fiveway navigation in pocket pc Tribe, In my Palm dev days we called it the FiveWay or 5-way. It's the rocker nav pad with center button. We used it to navigate focus around data entry screens. Well this functionality does not work as expected on a pocket pc device. And now that I must support the Treo700 where the 5-way is extremely important in usage I'm a bit flumoxed with how to make this 5-way nav pad work as it did in the Treo650.     - PPC 2003 Crypto engine 40-bit suppport I need to make the new PPC 2003 use 40-bit encryption for a MD5-RC4 hash password. I developed the code under PC 2000-2002 which used 40-bit encryption and now in 2003 it fails due to the newer 128-bit upgrade. So to provided packward compatability I would like to use 40-bit when running on the PPC 20003 plataform; how is this done? Under the PC Windows platform it can be achined by adding the "0x00280000" falg to the CryptoDeriveKey(...) method call.     - Security Question Hello All, First off, I have to say that all of the files that I am using in this post are not signed. I just have a question that I am hoping someone out here can answer. I have an application that consists of a .exe file and a dll that the .exe uses. I did not notice this until I started testing on the 700w Treo, but when I deploy or install my application, the first time I run the application, I get a Windows message saying that an error occurred in my application and if I wanted to fill out a bug report. The wierd thing is that when I run the application again, I do not get any error. I then created a sample application that just uses the dll. I tested using this and it would do the exact same thing. I would be prompted for security for the sample application, but nothing else. I then tried to debug this application and I noticed that this time, I get prompted for security for both the application and the DLL and it worked. My question is, why would this fail the first time and work perfectly fine every time after that? Also, is there any way that I can prompt the user to allow the system to use the dll? Also, I do not think that signing all of these applications is an option with my company, so I hope that there is another way. Thank you all for your time.     - Disabling scroll bars in ListView on Mobile 5.0 I'm using a custom ListView with the LVS_REPORT style, and I'm handling scrolling with my own scroll bars. LVS_NOSCROLL used to work with 2003 and 2003SE, but now I get two sets of scroll bars on my user interface, which really stuffs the program completely.     - Error when openning a DB using CeOpenDatabaseInSession with a sort order Hi all, I'm trying to open a database on WM5 devices using the CeOpenDatabaseInSession function, but when ever I try opening a sorted database by passing the SORTORDERSPECEX struct the CeOpenDatabaseInSession() fails with INVALID_PARAMETER returned by GetLastError(). Changing back the sort structure to NULL of course cause it to work once again without any problem.     - CF v2 HTTPWebrequest post file Hello, I have working code for uploading a file to a server using SSL for CF v1. If I export this to Visual Studio 2005 it still works great. However, if I start a new CF v2 project in Visual Studio 2005, and use the same code as before, it won't work anymore except when uploading small files. Currently in my application i flip up the soft keyboard if the focus is on an edit control. But devices like Treo 700w have an onboard keyboard.     - CF 1.0 vs 2.0 or VS2003 vs VS2005 Form Display order - vent I noticed several other people noticed a difference in their application when upgrading to the latest versions. To re-create create a simple form and in the Load of the form perform a ShowDialog of a non full screen form such as an authorization screen(login form). On v1.1 SP3 with VS2003 you will see the main form and the authorization form on top. When compiled with VS2005 and running on CF2.0 you will NOT see the main form being displayed behind the authorization screen. To fix this anomoly I simple added a this.Show() as the first line in the _Load before the ShowDialog(). My guess would be it has something to do with the new this.SuspendLayout() and this.ResumeLayout(). Oh and by the way, for existing applications the .DPI should have been the default conversion for AutoScale, not Inherit for anybody that is listening. But even with that there are to many scaling issues when using a hp4700 480x640.     - PPC 2003 Crypto engine I need to make the new PPC 2003 use 40-bit encryption for a MD5-RC4 hash password. I developed the code under PC 2000-2002 which used 40-bit encryption and now in 2003 it fails due to the newer 128-bit upgrade. So to provided packward compatability I would like to use 40-bit when running on the PPC 20003 plataform; how is this done? Under the PC Windows platform it can be achined by adding the "0x00280000" falg to the CryptoDeriveKey(...) method call. I have a Dell AXIM x50v and need the Microsoft Dialer for Windows Mobile
2005.

I have a CF Phone card (Audiovox RTM-8000) and need a phone application.

The one I seek is part of the OS. Especially if your device is a smartphone,
etc.

I want PHOTO integration with my Contacts, and I'm lead to believe it will
all just work!

My callerID will present a known contact's picture...
My Contacts will have photos, etc. I want the phone app to use these, and
Microsoft's is 'sposed to.

Where do I get it?

Is it part of the SDK? If so, great I've downloaded it already. Any tips on
how to install the phone application - I would prefer NOT to install the
SDK. The machine I would is a WinME system. (Don't laugh!)

The functionality is only a part of the Pocket PC Phone Edition OS and can't
be added into another edition of the platform. Your phone card may include
some software to make voice calls with the card (or it may be for data use
only) but you wont get the functionality found in an integrated device.
