    - Serial Communications: Wire -vs- Air I've got an application that uses serial communication. I select the COM port, then start listening to a data loop. If I use the wireless Bluetooth COM Port, the data I receive is: 0x1c 0x1c 0xfc 0xe0 0x0 (Loop) If I use the hardwired Serial COM Port, the data I receive is: 0xe 0x24 0xc3 0x29 0x55 (Loop) Does anyone see a similarity between the two sets of data? My Bluetooth device appears to be shifting the data, but I don't recognize anything. We have machines that send this data, and the Serial COM Port data is the correct data. The Bluetooth data is coming in wrong, but it is consistent and we receive the same number of bytes. Is there a more appropriate message board I could address this question?     - Serial port buffer check? Greetings, I'm porting some PalmOS serial port code to Windows Mobile/PocketPC. Is there a PocketPC API available that will return the number of bytes of data sitting in the serial port receive buffer? I'd like to know how many bytes of data are sitting in the receive buffer before I try to read anything from the buffer via ReadFile. On the PalmOS this is available via the SrmReceiveCheck API.     - Messaging application refresh I have an application that runs in the background and can do things like rename a MAPI folder. If the Messaging application is running when my changes take place then the change will not be noticed until the application is closed and then open again.     - send email from a PocketPC app in VS2005 I just don't see the namespace 'System.Net'. I cannot believe Microsoft has removed the ability of sending email from the CompactFramework in VS 2005.....is this correct? If so, what are the other alternatives?     - setsockopt with paramter TCP_NODELAY does not work with WM5 device My program works in such a way that I would benefit from the TCP_NODELAY option. I read and understand why a developer might not want to enable/disable this setting. This code works on Windows but not on CE. On CE, if I set the value to 1 and read it back, then the value is 8. When using a network analyzer, I can see that this setting has no effect on CE whereas it works perfectly on Windows. Till now we are doing so by connecting PPC to the PC via activesync and the printer to PC. Now I want to remove PC from this connection.     - Visual Studio Developer Certificates? Hello, I recently attended MEDC2007 and attended Jason Fuller's talk on Windows Mobile security. During that session, he talked about the special "Visual Studio Certificates" that can be installed to a device for remote debugging and tools. Unfortunately, I have no idea where to find these certificates. I seem to remember him saying that the carrier is the place to go, but T-Mobile disavows any knowledge of such certificates. I have a T-Mobile Dash and a T-Mobile SDA for testing. Can I get the necessary certificates for either of these? If so, where would I get them?     - Creating and linking static DLLs Hi I have a question about converting my apps existing dll to be statically linked to the exe and therefore make a single large exe, rather than it loading the dll at run-time. The app uses MFC (dynamically linked) and also the dll is an MFC extension DLL. I'm not too familiar with statically linking dll's, I know that the app can statically link to the MFC dll, but I want to know if it's possible for me to easily change the dll or the main exe to link the dll statically. I know that extension dlls must dynamically link to MFC, but would this prevent me from statically linking my dll to the app? Also, how do I statically link the app? At the moment I add the .lib file to the Additional Dependencies section of the linker settings, what do i need to change to tell vs2005 to link the dll statically? Or do I have to change something in the dll?     - GPS sample and Windows Mobile 2005 Hello, I am currently developing a software that use a GPS device (with .NET 2 and Visual C#) for the Pocket PC environment (Windows Mobile 5) and I have some questions about using GPS Intermediate Driver. Firstly, my Pocket PC is a HTC Avantage X7500 with inbuilt GPS. I have founded the C# GPS Sample available with the SDK for Pocket PC and I have read all the documentation about configuring and using the GPS API.     - Project available: Connection status activex control I have tried building this myself but it is over my head. So I am offering it as a project. I apologize to anyone who feels that this newsgroup is not the correct place to post this request. We urgently require an MFC activeX control, written in eVC++ 4.0, that can be called via jscript on a PDA (Pocket PC 2002 and higher). The control needs to provide 2 functions: 1. Provide a property that indicates whether a GPRS connection is currently active. 2. Provide a method where a GPRS connection can be activated. This functionality already exists in a sample application CMHELPER that comes with the PPC SDK. Scenario : Lets get to the point, I created a installation program with the PocketSetupCreator program, it really only creates a desktop setup.exe to install my VS2005 solution in the PPC. My desktop app will execute this setup.exe to install the PPC solution. My prolems: 1) I need to configure the path, serial and date in the PPC. Is there any way to do it via RAPI? I was thinking in creating a .dll in the PPC and like RAPI invoke it in the PPC trough desktop RPC ( Remote Procedure Call ) to modify the registry. 2) How do I work with registy in the PPC? I need to install my app in 2 or 3 different languages, so i need to install in the default windows/programfiles, that in each language is different. 3) Is it better to work with environment variables, CSIDL or something?     - Trying to implement IObjectSafety onto an MFC activeX control Let me start by saying that I am very new to c++ I am trying to load a C++ COM server into Pocket Internet Explorer and it has me beat. I am not interested in a user-interface I just need to access some WIN32 functions. The project builds without errors and the control registers onto the emulator. But that is it. The jscript throws an [object error] (see below) and the COM server is not instantiated.     - Using activesync to automatically syncronize PPC SQL CE? I heard someone tellign me that they have setup activesync to automatically syncronize an SQL database on the PPC with a server/desktop SQL database when cradled and this withouh having to write any program to do so (ie to setup with ActiveSync). Is that true? I haven't seen any options in Activesync to setup a replication for SQL CE. I know you can do this with Access. I understand how you can use RDA or webservices to do a replication but that must be initiated from the PPC (or using RAPI from a desktop application). Is it possible to automatically start a syncronization when the PPC is cradled? Do I need to write an activesync provider to do this (which sounds like it is a lot fo work) or maybe there is a service provider that you can download and install to take care of this?     - GPRS packet loss Hi! I'm testing an application which transfers files from a server to a pocket pc. I often experience errors in the communication. If I use pathping to get some statistics I can see that packets are often lost - approximately 10%. Does anyone know if this is about average for GPRS communication?     - Windows Mobile Supported Bluetooth Profiles Is there a way for me to know the Bluetooth profiles are supported by MS in each version of the Windows Mobile platform in each AKU? I need to lower the microphone gain.
My audio codec is clipping becouse of incoming PCM samples saturated from
the mic. I don't need AGC becouse it doesn't work well with my app.
I just need to manipulate the mic gain via software.
Is there a way to do it? I'm using waveform audio api ti capture sounds.
