    - Restore Registry entries in WM6 Hi, I accidentally deleted one of the registry entries without taking any backups. Is there any way to restore the registry entries in Windows mobile 6 professional? In particular, I have lost this entry and all of its subkeys: \HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{0aa5aa82-8738-4d16-932d-37273baf5a89} It would be really helpful if someone could post the entries here.     - Deploying to WMPro And Standard using same CAB Hi, We have develpoed an app for WM6 using C++. The app is targeted to run on WM6 Professional and Standard platforms. We have a HomeScreen plugin for the WM6 Standard and a TodayScreen plugin for WM6 Pro. We would like to have the dlls in the same CAB and then the same cab can be used for either platform. Is there anyway of selectively deploying a certain component of the CAB depending on the platform at runtime. These plugins are the only real differences and thus causing this headache.     - WiFi security. Hi All, We are developing an application through which one should be able to connect to a WiFi network. We could successfully connect to an Access Point (AP), if it is configured as follows, 1. Open (no security or encryption at all.) 2.WEP enabled. (This was set by using the OID_802_11_ADD_WEP OID.) We are using NDISUIO miniport driver to develop the application. The Wireless Zero Configuration service is disabled on the device. Now, we want to connect to an access point which is configured as WPAPSK. (Wifi protected Acess Pre Shared Key). We have understood that the OID used for setting the WPA is OID_802_11_ADD_KEY and a 4-way handshaking process should happen between the AP(Authnticator) and the client device(supplicant) for the successful authentication. The 4-way handshaking starts with sending an EAPOL to AP from the supplicant. We are stuck here and it would be of very help, if someone helps us by giving info on following questions 1. Whether the hand shaking process is initiated by the driver automatically or should we initiate the same? 2. If at all required, how to do the 4-way handshaking process.(using ndisuio or by any other means)?. 3. How to set the KeyMaterial field in the NDIS_802_11_KEY structure?     - Reduce EXE Size for Emulator I've got a small app (658 kb) that I need to test on the Pocket PC 2003 Emulator. By default, the emulator only includes 24 MB of RAM. Whenever I try to run my app through VS2005, it copies over whatever it needs to run, but before my app can start, I get "Error 0x80070070: There is not enough space on the disk." When I go to the emulator and look at the list of programs in storage memory under the "Remove Programs" applet, there are no programs listed. Whenever I go to my BIN folder to look at what all is being copied over, I see a host of DLLs that do not even need to be there! The biggest one is System.Web.dll, at 5,304 KB, and I do not reference that in my project anywhere! My question is 2 part, and I'll entertain answers on either or both: 1) How to I get these unnecessary DLLs to stop being included in my output folders (Debug or Release)? They are *not* listed in my project list of References, and the files that are listed (mscorlib, System, System.Data, System.Data.SqlClient, System.Drawing, System.Windows.Forms, and System.Xml) are not included in the executable for my app. 2) How do I increase the disk space available to my emulator? Our PPC devices all have 64 MB, so I'd like to increase the emulator memory to match. My RAM size is set to double that (128) in VS2005's "Tools > Options > Device Tools > Devices > Pocket PC 2003 SE Emulator Properties... > Emulator Options...", but still my emulator only has 24 MB. Could someone please help me out? I have all the service packs and updates from MS, and I've rebooted, shut down the computer, etc. I can't figure this one out.     - Bluetooth application on IMX31 processor running wince 6.0 Hi I have following doubts about "bluetooth on IMX31 processor running wince 6" 1) IMX31 based development board has APM6xxx bluetooth/wifi combo model that uses CSR chip.This module uses UART interface. One of the documents downloaded from Freescale site contains information about drivers and APIs for peripheral devices like display, ATA, Audio ,Keypad etc. But I did not find any document explaining bluetooth. If you know any document expalining the same, please let me know. 2)Does CSR based bluetooth device use the Microsoft's Bluetooth Protocol stack and API or any third pary stack? If Microsoft stack , then bluetooth based applications can be developed using either Winsock API or Virtual COM ports. But Winsock API is the preferred method because Virtual COM port method has some drawbacks. (This is as per Douglas Boling 's book). In our case i.e. Bluetooth on UART/Serial, is it necessary to follow 2nd i.e. COM port method? Or any method will do? Can anybody answer my queries? So I have to use the native API to do so. Anyway, I looked at the wzctool.cpp from WinCE installation and I selected the relevant lines to connect to WPA2. I am doing WZCPassword2Key for the keyMaterial before passing it to WZCSetInterfaceEx. Is this ok? Anyway, I am not able to connect using my below program, but I was able to do so using the phone UI. This is very important for some of my panels, because it handles setting up the panel before it is displayed. The panels are still brought to the front and focus seems to have been given to them, though.     - MoveFileEx equivalent I need to be able to delete some files I've installed on a mobile 6.0 device. These files will likely be in use. On the desktop side I'd just use MoveFileEx with a MOVEFILE_DELAY_UNTIL_REBOOT flag and be done with it. But kernel32.dll doesn't exist on the device so I can't just use that API. I've asked this before and never got a response. When I create a cab project for smart devices, the cab file always tries to install (duplicate) the setup.dll.     - No notification when using MAPI? I have an app running on the Pocket PC 2003 emulator. It uses MAPI to create a new message in the "Active Sync" Inbox. The home page shows the message as new/unread, and it appears unread in the inbox also. I have notification set for new email to play a sound, display a message on the screen, and flash the light (for "no limit")... but none of these notifications occur. Is this by design that messages added using MAPI on the device do not cause notifications to occur? If so, what options do I have to get notifications? I assume my application can play a sound, but will it always be possible to play a sound (for example, even if the screen is off or my app isn't the active app)? Also, can I flash the light? I'd rather just have it do whatever the default notification is for email, if that is possible. My application uses winsock to get messages from a source that Pocket PC/Windows Mobile doesn't have native support for, then it dumps those messages in the inbox on the device... this is why I would like notifications to work normally. I don't want to provide a POP or IMAP interface for this other message program, because of the limited poll interval settings, as well as other reasons (I want to know the new message entry ID, and track when the user does something with the message), and my app is better designed for narrow bandwidth than POP/ IMAP.     - Can't send same char again using SendCharEvents or PostKeybdMessage Hello, I am developing a SIP, and SendCharEvents seems to work well. But if the program sends the same character again immediately by calling SendCharEvents again, only 1 character is output. But if different characters are sent one after another, there is no problem. Is there a way to get around this ? I have some simple table html, but each table cell gets a new line, rather than all table cells in a row rendering on the same line. My content is not too large for it to fit on one line, so I'm not sure how to fix, or if it's even supported.     - Release Dll Problem - Optimization Issue Hi I have a dll in C++ which I call in embedded visual basic. It works perfectly fine in the Debug Mode and the Release Mode (with all optimizations disabled). The problem occurs when I try to make the release version of the DLL with Optimization switches set for either Maximum Speed (/O2) OR Minimum Size(/O1). It compiles and creates the DLL, but when I run the code all function parameters in the C++ code which take FLOAT or LPTSTR's are sent as blank values. I thought it would be best to analyze how many characters from each font size would fit into the screen shape for the particular device.     - Migration issues Hello all, We have this project written in C++ with EVC 4 for WinCE 4.2. It works smoothly and well. Recently, our customer wanted to buy new machines with Windows Mobile 5, so they asked us to migrate it. So we did. For the most part, it works well. We had some issues with pre-standard code and some dialog styles we fixed. But then, at certain point, an error happens. The program "gwes.exe" closes and the program does not continue with its normal execution: it aborts whatever message is being processed (i.e. WM_ONLBUTTONDOWN) and returns. However, this messes the entire application data. GetLastError said that there was no more memory available. I placed a GlobalMemoryStatus call just the line before it throws the error (by the way, removing this line only causes the next one to fail in the same way, and so on) and found that it still has memory (dwAvailPhys = 26.69MB, dwTotalPhys = 55.81MB). So it seemed that it actually had enough memory. Then I started to look for information over Internet and found this memory division (out of 64MB, 32MB goes as persistent memory for the file system, and 32MB to application memory, if I understood correctly). So I thought that it actually was a memory problem, after all. So I asked my provider for a machine with more memory, and finally they gave me one with 128MB (which, according to the rule, it would be 64MB for the file system, and 64MB for the application memory). My hopes were high. Yet it failed in the same way, only that the call to GlobalMemoryStatus showed more memory (dwTotalPhys = 119.85MB, dwAvailPhys = 92.39MB). Now, the headache is growing strong. Although we have more memory, the same problem shows. I can't find any more information about this, so I was kinda hoping if anyone could give me a clue on this matter. Thanks in advance.
