    - Deploy VB.NET 2003 to Pocket PC 2002 & 2003 Hope more ppl could help me on this. 1. I had just written a 'hello world' program and compile it. I am using standard VS.Net 2003 - Pocket PC 2002 Emulator. Problem is when i am using PC with company network everything works fine. But in term i use the same source and run from notebooks with Wireless connected to Router for Broadband only. For the PC i can see, the Compilation will actually installing (progress windows on Emulators) but for notebooks i did not see. But when i use the file explorer i can see the program installed .... 2. Then i download the Pocket PC 2003 SDK (SE) 86MB and installed to my notebook including the embedded C++ 4.0 (SP3). I did see the VS.NET 2003 deploying the program i compile but it gives error something mentioning the development tools having outdated version than the Emulations needed.     - Wifi Proxy Server Settings Problems Hi, this is not really programming problem, however, might be solved by programming (if any) I'm having trouble streaming my media contents to my PocketPC (2003 1st Ed) because the network is using proxy server for some "non-standard" port. On PPC (IPAQ, with Wifi(802.11b)) It having setting for proxy server in Connection->Edit my proxy server-> Proxy server -> advance, we see that it have few supporte protocol: Server : port -------------- HTTP 80 WAP 9201 Secure WAP 9203 Socks 1080 -------------- But how about other ? like 8080, 1169,... etc ? I have try to use "trick" to use one of the unused port (for me), like WAP which I change it default port (9201) to the port I'm using (1169 for eg). For IE on PC, we got checkbox "Use the same proxy server for all protocols, and by enable this checkbox, my problems solved (for PC), but since this is not available on PocketPC (until 2003 FE), is there a solution ? registry settings ? by standard API ?     - SqlCeCommand Error - works on emulator but no on device?? Maybe someone can shed some light on this... When testing the following code on my PPC 2003 emulator it works fine. However, when testing it on a PPC 2003 device, it does not.     - Modeless Dialog Problem Hi all, Sorry to have so many questions. I create a modeless dialog and use SW_SHOW to show the dialog inside a function.     - Pocket Word Conversions and Useability Questions I have a Word 2003 document that on a regular PC uses two styles. One is for numbered headings. These automatically number on the PC. When converted to the Pocket PC however, they all become 1. How can I retain the automatically numbered headings on the pocketPC? Is this a bug or a permanent limitation? If I want to zoom the font up to show an old person, say, it would be nice to present the lines side on in landscape; will the next release allow this?     - Callback functions in phoneInitializeEx Hello, I'm using the VS2003 with .Net Compact framework to develop a small app for PPC 2003. I have succeeded in calling phoneInitializeEx and it returns zero for success. The problem happens when I pass a non-null for the callback function in phoneInitializeEx. I believe I don't fully understand how this callback mechanism works in .Net framework. I know I can use EVENT or HIDDEN_WINDOW mechanism, but which one applies? I've defined a delegate for the callback function that mimics the phoneCallbackFunc definition in the SDKand I pass it in to the phoneInitializeEx through P/Invoke. (At this time, I've also set the use event option). This generates a non-supported exception. Can anyone help? Any more explanation of callback options for this case will be appreciated.     - Automaticly start an application when USB device is plugged in I've written a usb device driver for my device, and the driver is working fine. When I plug in my device, the driver gets loaded automaticly, and the device will work just fine. What I would like to do now is have my application automaticly started when the device is plugged in. How do I go about doing this? Is there some registry setting I can use to register for device notifications? Is there a registry setting that says "Start this application" when a USB device is plugged in? I'd rather not have my application always running, and waiting for the device to get plugged in.     - Problems removing old product on device during install I'm having trouble on PPC 2002 devices where cleaning up old products short cuts that where on the 'Programs' Screen will not be refreshed if 'Programs' screen is open when install / cleanup occurs. In the cabfiles setup DLL in the codeINSTALL_INIT function I cleanup files short cuts and registry for the older product. On 2003 devices the 'Programs' screen refreshes but not on 2002 devices. On the 2002 device the short cuts remain but icons are painting default windows icon. Tapping on gives message about not able to find but screen does not refresh.     - Problem with Pocket Access I encountered a problem when I synchronize from a Access mdb file to a Pocket Access cdb file using ActiveSync. Sometimes, some records are not sent to the device, and/or sometime some records are deleted in the mdb file after synchronization.     - Launch Application on Emulator doesn't work I've been struggling with this and searching for a solution for some time now. I want to get the following to work on my Windows Server 2003 Std development machine: Visual Studio 2003, Pocket PC 2003 SDK, and Active Sync 3.7.1 Everything worked fine for a while, then stopped working - maybe after I installed the Active Sync 3.7.1 update? I can deploy and launch/debug apps on devices and I can deploy apps to the emulator. However, I cannot launch applications on the emulator from Visual Studio 2003 for debugging. I have tried uninstalls and reinstalls of all the software involved - reinstalling in various sequences hoping to resolve the problem. I have verified that the Registry Entries for ProxyPorts are the same as those on another machine that worked. After the last sequence: Remove VS2003, Remove Active Sync, install Active Sync, install VS2003, install PPC 2003 SDK, I've begun to experience problems with Outlook 2003 and how in interacts with Word 2003!!! -->> "No such interface supported" errors when Word 2003 is selected for editing email. After reviewing the news groups here and other places on the Internet, I've noticed that I am definitely not alone with these bugs -- both the Launch Application failure and the "No such interface supported" failures.     - Aliasing Problem in the IPAQ5550 as Sampling Frequency decreasing Hello! When I recorded wave file with 22050Hz, mono-option in the IPAQ5550 using the voice memo(voice recorder), I found the aliasing problem. But aliasing don't happen in the 44.1kHz. So, I had checked the white paper of IPAQ5550 codec chip(AK4535). The paper said usually that codec supports 44.1kHz, and anti-aliasing filter(LPF) with Fs/2 cutoff frequency. and Cutoff frequency is changable as sampling frequency. My Question are below : 1.     - To avoid multiple items being displayed in Windows task list bar for the same application I am writing a Win32 GUI dialog-based application with Visual C++ 6.0. The application is composed of a few tens of dialogs. To speed the switch between different dialogs, I keep the dialogs in the memory but deleting them when they are not active, and only the active dialog is displayed as the current window. To give more details, after each dialog is created by DoModal() when it is called at the first time, and once another dialog gets the con, the current dialog will just minimize and hide (by SetWindowPos) itself but delete itself (by OnCancel), so it will be still in the memory. The next time it turns into active it will call ShowWindow (SW_SHOW) to display itself. One problem I met can be decsribed as: once a new dialog is created by the application using DoModal(), an item will be added to the Window Task List Bar, and item could not be removed even the corresponding dialog already turns into inactive. From what I have read, I can run an emulator if I install an SDK and a couple other things, but it still won't run regular Pocket PC programs. Now I want that user who is using the Pocket PC won't be able to use the network connection other than my application. I want to instanciate the object, but first I want to find the CLSID using this call: HRESULT hr = CLSIDFromProgID(TEXT("Msxml2.DOMDocument.3.0"), &ClsID); This fails, returning 800401F3, which should be Invalid class string. Fine, for now I'll be using COM and a manual BT connection. When using COM over BT, would one just use it as if it was a normal COM port? Would it just be like on the desktop?     - eVB vs VB.net 2003? I want to develop an applications for a pocketpc for use in the field. I have some experience in VB6 so i started out with embedded VB. But that works very slow (have to load a 4700+ species-list in a listbox, takes minutes to do that). On the net i got the impression that apps developed with the .net framework are much faster. So i want to know is this really true? And if so, is it possible to develop applications for a pocketpc with VB.Net 2003 standard? I have some problem : I need control which could show pictures and text
simultaneously. I have tried inkx but when I paste picture it covers the
text and appears in the left upper corner. Is there any decision of the
problem except writing a control?

Sounds like something you could achieve with a HTML control, unlike the InkX
it wont be editable but you can do a lot with the layout with some very
simple HTML including having the image as a background and the text onto,
another option would be to draw directly to the screen, this will depend on
whether you are using eVC++ or .NETCF.
