Are there any online resources that will help me get started in WM
development. I am a Palm OS user, and I have read articles from the Palm OS
-> WM OS developent section, and I have been looking through the msdn
library, and I can't really find anything. I have the dev kit for wm5, and I
have created and built the sample project, and I kind of get the gist of what
is happening, but I still don't know exactly what it is doing and why. Is
there any online source that is the equivelant of the Palm OS Companion, that
teaches it all? I want to learn things like basic application development,
navigating forms/windows, creating control panel apps, modifying the taskbar,
writing today plugins, ect. What are good preferably online resources and
articles? Thanks!

Welcome, Jonathan! Here's some general Getting Started info:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/mobility/gettingstarted/windowsmobile/default.aspx

Here's an article about writing a Today Screen plugin from MSDN:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/dnroad/html/road09122001.asp
MSDN has so much good info that Google or your search engine of choice is
often the quickest way to find what you need.

I briefly considered writing for the Palm OS a few years ago and got
the definite impression that one book was sufficient. Definitely not
true for Windows programming. I have a bit more than a dozen books on
Windows programming. I bought each one because it had several pieces
of info I needed but couldn't find in any of the books I already had.
And my books cover only a small portion of the operating system.

In this context, the word "newbie" is useful, not insulting. In
particular, I recommend using google
(http://groups.google.com/advanced_group_search) to look up
newbie
in this newsgroup. You will find a lot of notes like this, but you
will also find some real discussions and pointers to resources.
