    - My Company vs. my company's name... In VS.NET, I have set the application's company property by modifying the AssemblyCompany("<stuff>") to include my company name. However, whenever I look at "Remove Programs" I see my application listed as "My Company " and the application name. Clearly I'm missing a setting somewhere--can someone please point me to it?     - How can I use Contacts Database with RAPI Hi... I have tried to access 'Contacts Database' that is under '\\database' folder. I don't want to use POOM. so I used RAPI and I could access general database as *.cdb under other folers. but I can't access DB which are in '\\database' folder.     - How to create Menubar with Toolbar? PPC2003 Hello all, I've been trying to figure out for days on how to create a menu bar with a toolbar of icons. If anybody has any good source that incorporates a toolbar with menu items like in pocket word please let me know.     - How to control the volume in a application Hi, I want to control the volume value in my application. (When I push the volume up button in my application, then the real volume of the pocketPC should also change.) I tried changing the volume registry value under "ControlPanel\\Volume" And after change the volume value and call 'AudioUpdateFromRegistry' in the coredll.dll. Someone says it would work. But 'AudioUpdateFromRegistry' doesn't work. The change in volume value is reflected only after I reset the PocketPC Device. Is there any key points I missing? Or any other methods?     - Problems with "GET" in HTML on PIE I have an .ASP script that proces a form. It works ok on Internet Explorer (Win and Mac), Mozilla and others. It works well on Pocket PC OS 2002, but there's no way to have it working on Windows Mobile 2003. Access Netfront 3.1 works fine, but Pocket Internet Explorer comes back with the error message my script sends out when a field is empty. I am sure this changed from 2002 to 2003. On Netfront, Mozilla and Internet Explorer it works fine. PIE 2003 fails.     - eVC 4.0 + MFC - Events not firing Hello all. About 2 days ago I started to re-write an application I had begun in raw Win32 using MFC. I'm creating the basic UI right now, and I'm having a bit of trouble with events in my dialogs. My base program is a Dialog-based application, contained in my "CEsysscanDlg" class. I click a button in that dialog which creates a CPropertySheet derived class called "HW_PROP_SCREEN" that has 4 pages. Each page is a CPropertyPage class derived object added in by the HW_PROP_SCREEN object on creation (it also pops up as soon as I declare it, which strikes me as odd.) The problem arises when I attempt to interact with controls on my PropertyPages. I start with my "HW_PG1" class, which is derived from CPropertyPage. It consists of: - A text box with a button to the right - A drop-down ComboBox - Two read-only text boxes and was created using the Dialog Editor. My combo box, "IDC_HW_HWTYPE", has one event associated with it, "CBN_SELENDOK" which I already have performing what I want in my Win32 version. But it seems that whenever I'd expect the CBN_SELENDOK event to fire, it doesn't. To test, I created the BN_CLICKED for my "IDC_LOADREC" button (to the right of the first text control) and added a MessageBox call to the event. It does not fire either. I tried creating several other events, and none fire. Am I missing a step here? Are my messages getting misrouted and not being caught by my PropertyPage? Any assistance would be appreciated! The problem is, that I can't retrieve message recipients for a message, stored in OUTBOX directory.     - PPC2002 Emulator and Web services I've got a test app for a Pocket PC app which calls methods in a web service. I can debug run the app and it successfully runs and accesses the web service using the PPC2003 Emulator. I try the exact same code to the PPC2002 Emulator and the code just hangs and eventually after about 10 minutes or so times out. What's going on here?     - Compiling for H/PC v2.0? Is there any way to get eMbedded VC++ to build an EXE for H/PC (WinCE 2.0)? I have the SDK for H/PC Pro (CE v2.11), and EXEs from that will also run on H/PC 2000 as I understand it. I didn't think there'd be that much of a difference between 2.0 and 2.11 but the simpliest (~3K Exe) "Hello World" Win32 app won't run (gives an exception) on my Jornada 660 H/PC. :-( I think I found the H/PC 2.0 SDK on microsoft's site (mplatsdk.exe). Many of the links leading there are broken. But it appears this requires Visual Studio? Or will it work with eVC? Hopefully somebody has done some dev for these older machines. Thanks! What is the difference between ntext and text? My string will be less than 256 characters which is 'text' in Access. A description was not given for ntext. Should I use ntext?     - problems with BSSID search in different PPC 2003 devices hello guys, I am developing an application. One of its functions is to search APs or other PCs with Wi-Fi function. I used the following code to search BSSIDs. When I tested the code on HP IPAQ5450, the code returns correct network names; but on TOSHIBA E800, some network names are ok, but some network names returned from the code are weird characters. Both devices run PPC 2003.     - Synchronizing Pocket Access with 2 PC's I am having a problem getting my access database to synchronize with 1 Pocket PC (iPaq 4155) with 2 different desktop computers. I set it up fine with one PC and one device and synchronizes no problem (using ActiveSync 3.7 build 3083). When I try to get it to synchronize with a second PC, I run into problems. I have tried: 1) Copying the MDB from one computer to another In this case, you cannot manually create a synchronization item Pocket Access without moving the MDB to the CDB, and if I do, I am worried the first PC will no longer synch. 2) Copying the CDB from the device to the second computer In this case, it gives me an error when copying the CDB to the second desktop, but the MDB is created. Then I try to synch and it gives me errors. Finally, I tried moving the original MDB (copied from the first PC) to where the second PC is looking for the MDB to synch it, and that gave me errors. I was hoping someone has done this and knows some tricks they can share. I have a Pocket Access database on my Pocket PC 2002 Device, and want to programatically sync with my desktop. The Scanner Database has quite a lot of tables that I don't want to update all of the time, to save download time. On my scanner I have say 10 tables, when I use DESKTOPTODEVICE to send 1 table to the scanner, it seems to delete all the tables, then sends the 1, and my database is left missing all the other tables. Does anybody know whether this is by design or whether I am doing something wrong. If it is by design, does anybody know any alternative methods of updating the desktop with the scanner database?     - Power off/Suspend mode I'm writing an application that uses a working thread for communication with serial ports (Ir, cable, bt, etc.). Problem is that when user puts the PPC in suspended mode it locks down the thread and sometimes the whole device. This only happens when a BT serial port is open and PPC 2003, not when using Ir or serial on cable... Does anybody know a way to exit/end the worker thread when going into suspend mode? Does system send any message about going to suspend mode before shuting down? If I can catch such a message perhaps I have time to close down my serial connection to the BlueTooth serial port?     - Winsock2 LSP causes ActiveSync partnership recognition problem I'm seeing something strange while trying to use an LSP under Pocket PC 2003. I've compiled the sample LSP that comes with platform builder. I've installed it using my own installer (which I am confident works properly) into the TCP and UDP chains below the SLL LSP (immediately above the base provider). Now, when I remove the device from the cradle and then replace it ActiveSync goes through the motions of connecting to my desktop (ActiveSync 3.7.1), as expected. However, once ActiveSync stops syncing it displays the name of my Pocket PC as 'Guest' and not as its rightful name 'Pocket_PC'. Of course, nothing will sync and I can't access my PPC though Platform Manager or anything. I'm wondering if anybody knows anything about this behaviour or even if somebody who has had success with using the sample LSP could just let me know that it *can* be made to work.     - database options Using a HP 4150 with mobile Windows 2003. Sofar I have been using Sprint DB Pro, which works with .cdb files, which are made by converting and copying Access .mdb files. Sprint DB Pro handles these files very nicely, but there is on major problem. The Pocket PC .cdb file has a size limitation of 16 mB. What are my options to overcome this? If possible I would like to continue using Sprint DB Pro as I have developed quite a complicated Sprint DB Pro front end (the so-called form file). I understand using SQL Server CE isn't troubled by such a file limitation and has some other advantages as well. The problem is that as far as I know there is no easy third party application to make a PPC interface. I am not keen to have to spend a lot of time learning programming for the PPC and develop an application myself.     - Pocket IE and ASP It may seem trivial, but I have not found any conclusive answer to this question : Does Pocket Internet Explorer fully support server-side ASP pages ? I have this small application, consisting in some ASP pages running in IIS 5.0, acessing a Oracle Database, and browsed by a standard Pocket PC 2002 device through a wireless connection. There is no client side scripts, except some basic form validation written in JSCRIPT. Most of the time, it works perfectly. However, sometimes, when a single record must be inserted in the database, the PIE locks, and only after a warm reset it will work back. The only difference in this page, beyond the INSERT statement, is that it shows a paginated recordset , in order to show a defined number of records in each page, due to PPC screen limitations. Needless to say that the same page works fine when it is acessed by a desktop, and that the wireless connection is always live. I would appreciate any suggestions on how to proceed to isolate the problem and, also, whether there are any restrictions in the ASP page that shoud be considered when used in this kind of application.
