Hi,

I want to execute the AT Commands on Windows Mobile.

I tried using the inbuilt Wmodem using USB as interface but in vain.

Can anyone give me pointer on how to execute AT Commands on GSM Stack on
Windows Mobile 5.0.
My device is Imate JASJAR with Windows Mobile 5.0

TIA

You may want to give a try to Dialup Master (
http://www.southwaycorp.net/dialupmaster.htm ). I've written a tutorial of
it at http://pocketpcmag.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=17837 . Dunno if it's
WM5-compliant though - I've only tested it on devices up to WM2003SE.

If it doesn't work, do what I've explained in the above article or at
http://pocketpcmag.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=16032 - that is, use the
built-in pre/post-dial terminal windows.

thanks a lot for reply but my problem is more of - like I want to open a
serial port to the GSM Stack of Windows Mobile and then I want to enter the
AT Commands onto that.

Is that possible using serial port communication ?

It's possible with some for sure. I can do it with the i700 (CDMA). Not sure
about your model. I know some GSM phones do it, so network isn't an issue.

That is, you want to use the built-in modem of your Universal from an
external device like a notebook or PDA (incidentally, see the tutorial on
using Pocket PC Phone Edition devices as Bluetooth modems for desktop
Windows and Windows Mobile PDA devices at
http://www.pocketpcmag.com/blogs/index.php?blog=3&p=510&more=1 if
interested)? Your remarks on Wmodem/USB shows you are trying to do this.

Then, use the pre/post Terminal Window on those devices - all Windows (not
only Windows Mobile, but also desktop Windows) versions support this. The
desktop Windows even allows for scripting by default without additional, 3rd
party applications - exactly as with Dialup Master on Windows Mobile.

I think it also works over Wmodem/USB - as long as you use the built-in
connectivity engine in the desktop Windows and not a third-party dialing
tool.

(Alternatively, if you need to issue pre-dialing AT commands only, the init
string can also be used. But it's limited in length and can only be used for
pre-dialing commands.)

Would stronlgy suggest you itstall a terminal program for at least the
setup and learning period... the pre/post Terminal Window is "usable"
but a pita.

also, please pick a single forum for your initial posts... your question
will normally be answered even if the forum is unrelated or you will be
directed to the best forum.

crossposting as you did simply wastes the time of many good (unpaid)
responders.

Unless, of course, they're using a full NNTP-compliant newsreader, in which
case the post gets marked as read across threads.

You could start by posting it to a NG that actually pertains to your
question and not everyone that contains pocketpc in it.....

Did you ever have any success with this? I'm trying to do the same thing on
a QTEK 9000 (same thing as the JASJAR) and everything I find seems to be in
reference to WM 2003.

Am I right in thinking that you want AT access from software running on the
device?
I'm developing in C# and I'd like to write a dial-in Bulletin Board program
for the QTEK, so I need to access AT commands from a C# program.
