    - Problem only in release version! Hi everybody I'm working with a project in embedded Visual Studio 4 and I have a general problem which I hope that somebody can help me with. My problem is the following: My project works fine in debug version but behaves strangely and sometimes crashes when I run it in release version. I suspect that it is some sort of memory problem but it is not that easy to find out what the problem exactly is (the project is rather big with maybe 30000 lines of code). It should be the same code that runs in the both versions, right? Or is there some part of the code in a project that might differ in debug and release version? Thanks for all your help.     - Eraser tool for PPC Hi All, I am trying to develop an Eraser tool for a ImageEditor kind of application on Pocket PC. I can perform the erasing using a DrawImage method of Graphics for the PictureBox. The only problem is when user moves the stylus very fast on the screen the Mouse_Move event misses every e.x and e.y (GraphicsPath) and then it looks like some part of the image doesn't get cleared.     - VS2005 PocketPC UserControl Install Help Hi All, I just created a user control with the PocketPC Magneto project that has Design Time support. Everything works good. If I copy the .dll to the WindowsCE and the meta file that it created for the design time to the Designer folder. After that my install program creates a tab in the toolbox of studio and register the control. Is this the correct way to install a user control for the Pocket PC development?     - Two differents proxies ... Hi, I'm working on a CPF file to configure connectivity ... I have a server in the corporate network which hold http application (Web services). This serveur should be accessed using two different ways : 1. WIFI local access using "Proxy A" 2. GPRS distant access using "Proxy B" I do not know how to configure the device to use different proxies according the network used.     - Pocket Outlook Hello, I was wondering two things about pocket outlook. First off how come when I receive a message into Pocket outlook, that I generate, a link in it does not become a hyperlink, but if I copy that same link into a new message and click enter it automatically becomes a hyper link. Two, is there anyway to mask a hyperlink in pocket outlook? I was thinking something similar to how HTML does it, like <a href=somelink>Some Text</a>.     - Number of com ports available Hi, I am currently developing a virtual com port driver for windows ce. My question is why there is a limit on the number of ports you can create, that is number 0-9. I can understand this limit when it comes to hardware issues with IRQ etc, but is there any way to bypass this limit when i only do virtual com ports?     - 2 RAPI Question with Windows Mobile 5.0 Hello, Question 1: With rapi syncing to a new Dell AXIM x51v (Windows mobile conduit) I am unable to use CeMountDBVol(&foo, lpszWdbName,OPEN_ALWAYS) It always returns fails and CeGetLastError(); returns ERROR_INVALID_PARAMETER; The same code works fine againts an emulator and fine on older versions PPC 2003 etc. So im pretty sure its not actually invalid parameters. Question 2: When trying to use rapi2 I am getting unresolved external symbol _CLSID_RAPI and unresolved external symbol _IID_IRAPIDesktop.     - Getting Started Are there any online resources that will help me get started in WM development. I am a Palm OS user, and I have read articles from the Palm OS -> WM OS developent section, and I have been looking through the msdn library, and I can't really find anything. I have the dev kit for wm5, and I have created and built the sample project, and I kind of get the gist of what is happening, but I still don't know exactly what it is doing and why. Is there any online source that is the equivelant of the Palm OS Companion, that teaches it all? I want to learn things like basic application development, navigating forms/windows, creating control panel apps, modifying the taskbar, writing today plugins, ect.     - Performance of the 2003 SE emulator Hi all, Does anyone know what processor is equivalent (in MHz, approximately) to the Pocket PC 2003 SE emulator? I am writing a cpu intensive app (it uses integer arithmetic and many bitblt's) and I am getting a very disappointing performance with it.     - Text file question I think I posted this on another message board that I should not have. Anyway, I am fairly new to programming for mobile and I am using VB .Net. I include text files in my VB project, however in the programming what directory do I need to use to reference these text files? I need to open a text file based on user input from a treeview into a streamreader and then read that text file into a text box.     - Using DC functions on bitmap Hello all I'd like to create a small antialiased graphic in my today item, something that shows a value like an analogue gauge. Therefor I created a bitmap of doubled dimensions on which I intend to paint my graphic and which then is downsized to get the smooth edges. But the question for me now is: how do I draw on a bitmap, i.e. get a DC to it?     - More Keyboard hooking question: modifying processed keys another question related to key handling...if i am using a dll hook (LowLevelKeyboardProc) to recieve WM_KEYDOWN messages in my managed code, is it possible to change the virtual keycode and have it be effected when CallNextHookEx in the dll is called? What i have been able to do so far is change data in the KBDLLHOOKSTRUCT in my managed code, and see that those changes do persist back to the dll code.     - Retrieving an Image from a DLL I've posted a msg about this before, thought I had a solution, but didn't. So I'm going to try again ... I have a C# Pocket PC app with which I want to retrieve an embedded image from a separate DLL. I don't know if it matters, but I call this DLL "Multimedia.dll" and I use it to hold various images that are used in both the Pocket PC app and the associated Desktop app. Within Multimedia.dll I have a class called ImageTools in which I have various methods. One of them is as follows: public static Image GetImage(string fullImageName) { System.Drawing.Bitmap image = null; Assembly assembly = Assembly.GetExecutingAssembly(); Stream stream = assembly.GetManifestResourceStream(fullImageName); if (stream != null) { image = new System.Drawing.Bitmap(stream); } stream.Close(); return image; } But I get an error if I call this method from my Pocket PC app. I think the problem lies with GetExecutingAssembly but I'm not sure.     - Easy CEdit question I have a CEdit control that is the first and only control on a CPropertyPage. So obviously when the user switches to the property page, the edit control gets focus automatically. Problem is, it selects the entire text as well. I'd like to prevent the text from being selected automatically, since this is a multi-line text editor. I've tried using SetSel() and various other things in OnInitDialog() to position the cursor at the first character, but nothing works...all text is always hilighted.     - CertChk app with WM 5.0 devices I have used the CertChk.exe (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=D88753B8-8B3A-4F1D-8E94-530A67614DF1&displaylang=en) application to disable the certificate check with WM 2003 and WM 2003 SE devices.     - Installing a signed LAP Hello All, I am trying to install an M2M signed (Verisign) LAP dll on a Pocket PC 2005 device. It looks like, during startup my LAP doesn't get loaded. On the other hand, if I install dev certificates and load dev signed LAP dll, it gets loaded at startup and everything works fine. Also, I noted that If I run a custom application to load the LAP through the privileged call LASSReloadConfig(), the signed LAP dll gets loaded and I can start the password screen from the Settings->Password screen. So, here are the sequences I tried M2M Signed Version ---------------------- 1. Custom App calls LASSReloadConfig() etc to install the LAP. 2. Goto the Password applet and everything works 3. Reset the device and look at loaded dlls. I can not find my custom LAP dll loaded. 4. In step 2, if I set a password device hangs after a reset and I have to do a hard reset. Dev Signed Version ---------------------- 1. Custom App calls LASSReloadConfig() etc to install the LAP. 2. Goto the Password applet and everything works 3. Reset the device and look at loaded dlls. I CAN find my custom LAP dll loaded this time. 4. In step 2, if I set a password device device shows the password screen after a reset and everything is good. So, I assume there is some difference in loading a custom LAP when it is dev signed Vs signed using, say Verisign.     - Sockets that won't stop I've created a very simple tcp\ip program using your basic send and recv socket functions for WM 2003 SE. The sockets are set for blocking which is fine, since they have their own thread, however if I loose connection the socket just hangs forever. Is there a setting I can change that will stop this(allow the socket to time out)?     - PPC and smartphone webcam I have been searching for s/w to allow me to use a ppc or smartphone with a camera as a webcam. the ppc would be connected to a pc via active sync and software running on the ppc and the pc would work together to make the ppc a webcam usable with yahoo instant messenger and the like. And we have files: a.txt b.txt c.txt The problem I have is when the program with b.txt opened, then you minimize the window, then open c.txt by clicking on the file in File Explorer, the system only bring up and activate the program's window and doesn't actually open c.txt. Iam trying to avoid packaging 2 versions of our data CAB files, which can be very large in some cases, with our installers. If i could unsign a CAB file then i can unsign it before having ActiveSync Add/Remove programs install it on an older PocketPC.
