    - How to register ATL dll on WM5 using VS2005 Hello, I am porting ATL projects from eVC3.0 to VS 2005. I can build the project fine. But I can't test it (via test app) on WM5 because it isn't registered. How can I register via VS2005 IDE ? In eVC++3.0, the dll used to automatically gets registered. Can we do the same in VS2005 ? I tried setting project, properties, Linker, General, Register Output to "Yes", but I get build error "PRJ0050:Failed to register output.     - Windows Mobile 5, GPRS: How to DISABLE the "Cannot connect" popup/ balloon/message ? Hi all I developed a WinMobile 5-based application that needs to open a GPRS-connection to make a webservice-call (1x every hour). By applying a "registry-hack" I managed to suppress the "Connect to GPRS..."-popup... BUT I was not able to prevent the "Cannot connect"-popup notification window, that is automatically shown by the winmobile-device when there is no avail. GSM/GPRS-signal. My questions: 1) Is there a registry-entry that can be modified to suppress the "Cannot connect"-popup? 2) Is there a way to disable/suppress the "Cannot connect"-popup by using the API? 3) I read on the web, that the only way to suppres the "Cannot connect"-popup is to *kill* the window programmatically AFTER it has been shown by the winmobile-OS...     - Release DLL Problem Hi there I have a DLL written in C++ which I call in my Embedded Visual Basic Application. The problem is when I call a particular function from the DLL which requires an LPTSTR argument. I send the argument as a String from VB. It works FINE if I run the Debug-version of the DLL, but when I run the Release-version of the DLL it sends an empty string to the function.. Any Ideas for this anomaly.. We are converting inline assembly to separate assembly functions and meanwhile we encountered an exception at SMULWB instruction. I got information from internet that WindowsCE doesnt support ARMv5 instructions only ARMv4.Is this true ?     - Getting Started with development using Emulator - Problem I got the SDK for Visual Studio 2005 installed, Virtual PC 2007, and Pocket PC emulator. I am going to need network connections for the emulators. Anyone got any ideas on how to get it up and running? Pocket PC emulator reports, upon start up, "Error: No VPC network adapters enumerated or no host t network adapter with provided MAC address found." When trying to run emulator in VS 2005, the device just cannot cannoect to the network, no other errors reported. Virtual Machine Network Services box is checked on the LAN connection properties. Seems I am having a bit of trouble locating documentation on this thing. I see that others having similar trouble, but no results. Anyone can point me in the right direction?     - Problem in Using Javascript in Windows Mobile IE Hi All, We are creating some webpages for Windows Mobile using JSP. We need to capture the KeyDown events for Function keys. We were trying to achieve this with JavaScript/JScript. We were able to do this in Desktop IE. But the same code is not working in the pocket IE. The device we are using is MC70 by Symbol. We would like to know 1. If KeyDown event is supported in any version of Window Mobile IE ? 2. If yes, how can we capture it on web page ?     - Winsock Sendto() affecting receive data Hi, We have a voip application running on Win Mobile 6.0. We are sending /receiving packets of 160 bytes (20ms) . We have been having an issue with the receive data when we are simultaneously sending on the same socket. If we comment out the sendto() function the receive data is ok otherwise with the sendto() in we lose a few frames, this results in lost audio at the earpiece. we have done a lot of tests to prove the audio is fine. Simply commenting out sendto() cures the problem so we are wondering if sendto() can affect the receive data over a socket. We have set the socket to be non blocking but have noticed using QueryPerformanceCounter that sendto() is taking 5-10ms to complete.     - Connection Manager and Network Timeouts Hello there, I'm trying to create a persistent connection application on Windows Mobile 6. I intend for this application to use mobile radios (GPRS) to communicate with remote servers using Connection Manager for long periods of time (days). However, there appears to be a problem with my connection manager code. It appears to me that we are either getting killed by the network, or the device is timing out the session. I can't figure out which. Is there a particular set of calls to Connection Manager that need to be made to a) make a persistent connection that last days? (should I use always_on?) b) register to be notified if a connection is terminated either by Windows Mobile or the network? c) What is the event that I should be capturing to re-establish a killed connection manager handle? Right now we are attempting "Get Connection Status" before making network calls, but it doesn't seem to be working quite right. Any help appreciated!     - Correct provisioning of SDK certs on WM6 for service to autostart I have a couple of Windows services that need to be signed with the priviliged certs in order to auto-start when the device boots up. I am currently using the SDK certs for development but am having problems with WM6 in that the services won't auto-start. All is fine for WM5 so I know the registry entries are ok. I have also tested a plain service sample that doesn't do anything useful and that doesn't load either on WM6. If I use the MS Security Configuration manager to provision the certs to the device then it all works but it doesn't if I just copy the two .cer files over and manually install them. Also doesn't work if I do the same with the .pfx files or copying the tool.cab file over and installing that. I know I don't have this problem with WM5.0 because I tried it on a Treo 750 before I upgraded it to WM6 so something has changed with security in WM6. As a workaround I have an app in the Startup folder that starts my services but I shouldn't have to do this. How can I find out exactly what the MS security configuration manager is doing to provision the SDK certs on the device? It doesn't seem to be just copying the tool.cab over to the device.     - How to Register SQLITE DLL on PocketPC A friend is developing the PocketPC side of an application we are jointly working on. I am creating the Desktop side. To be able to exchange data back and forth within this application, we are using SQLITE as the database. It is working GREAT on the desktop side. And my friend is able to make it work GREAT in his development environment on his desktop. But when he sends the application over to his PocketPC, he must register the DHSQLITE.DLL file. Here is the problem. He does not have REGSRVCE.EXE on his PocketPC. Nor can we find it anywhere, where we can obtain/extract it from. We have downloaded and tried the REGSVR.EXE software, and it says it can't find the DLL file he wishes to register, which he has definitely loaded on the PocketPC. Does anyone have any solutions for us, please ? We are both stymied. Thanks in advance.     - Batter poll interval Hello I have run into problems with the Battery Icon update & Battery poll interval. I want the system to stop the automatic polling of the battery and instead force a manually poll with the SetEvent() function. The manual polling via SetEvent() is now working OK, but I can't get the system to stop polling automatically even if the registrysettings: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\ssupdate] "BatteryEarly"=dword:0 "BatteryLate"=dword:0 is included as proposed in the Windows Help documentantion. Another problem is that even if the 'forced polling' updates the SYSTEM_POWER_STATUS_EX2 structure as supposed to, the battery icon on the screen is not updated. (Not until the automatic battery polling is performed).     - Scaling Dynamic Controls for 640x480 Devices Hi All, I am having an issue on when or when not to scale a control that is dynamically added to a hosting User Control when executing on a device with 640x480 screen. Here is what I got... In designer, if a developer defines a property, my code will dynamically add a control to the main hosting control (everything works great; even scaling). I think this works because the control was added during the initialization process which the OS tells it to scale (at this time its a part of the controls collection of the host). Now, the problem is if the developer does not use designer, but uses the LoadForm event to define the property, my control is dynamically added but its not scaled correctly for the 640x480 device. I think this happens because it was added after the hosting control's initialization. Any ideas on how to handle this? I am using Visual Studio 2005 Framework 2.X and such. Thanks in Advance!     - Precision problem with eVC++ 4.0 Hi, I am having a problem with the CString's Format & the wsprintf command in eVC++ v4.0 when displaying "double" values. I have some "double" values in my database and need to display them to as many decimal places as possible. Some of the values have values of 10 or more decimal places, and .Net can successfully write & read them to my "SQL Server Mobile" database to this precision. The problem is, in eVC++, if I use the %f parameter, it doesn't display enough decimal places (it typically rounds them up/down to just 4 or 5 decimal places). However, if I ask Format/wsprintf to display the values to a large number of decimal places, then it "corrupts" many the values adding .00000000001 to their value. For example: CString str1, str2; double doubleValue = 1.28533; str1.Format(_T("%f"), doubleValue ); str2.Format(_T("%.19f"), doubleValue ); Output: str1 = "1.285330" str2 = "1.2853300000000001000" I do appreciate that floats can't store decimal values exactly (1/3 being the typical example) but I find it strange that my .Net CF app can read & write the values successfully, without adding any 0's at the end (like str1 above) or adding or subtracting a tiny discrepency to their values, but eVC++ fails miserably. The irony is that if I use Microsoft's Query Analyzer to view the values in my table, it displays them perfectly. That "1.28533" value does appear in Query Analyzer as "1.28533", and all other figures appear fine, albeit rounded to about 8 decimal places. Any suggestions...?     - Uninstalling Windows Mobile 6 SDK I installed "Windows Mobile 6 Professional SDK" but it is incompatible with my Pocket PC 2003. Every time I try to launch my Pocket PC 2003 emulator Visual Studio 2005 Professional fails with the message: "Deployment and/or registration failed with error: 0x8973190e.     - Only digits in text box Hi, I want to create edit field that accepts only digits. I added ES_NUMBER style during creation. The problem exists concerning Fn key on some HTC and Symbol devices. So you can't enter digits without pressing Fn key. If you don't press Fn you hear beep and nothing is put in the edit field. I tried enabling InputMode functionality it for PPC but it doesn't work. I tried to test using ImmEscape functions to set Number InputMode, but again that work fine with SmartPhone but failed in case of PPC.     - running error of PPC application in PDA Hi all, I am a new developer of Pocket PC native application with VS 2005. I create the Win32 Smart Device project with the WM 5.0 PPC SDK and the application type is window application. The application just shows the 'Hello' string for testing purpose. It works fine in emulator. After that, I did the packaging according to "Smart Device Development Walkthrough: Packaging a Smart Device Solution for Deployment" located in http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/zcebx8f8(VS.80).aspx. For adding dependency to a CAB project, I selected <Visual Studio installation folder>\VC\ce\dll\armv4\msvcr80.dll. After that, I copied the CAB file to a Acer n50 device that is connected with ActiveSync 4.5.0 When i clicked this CAB file in Acer n50 device, it automatically installed but, when I run this program after installation finsihes, it shows the error message that '.. is not a valid Pocket PC application.' Acer n50 info: Processor : Intel XScale Operating System :Microsoft Windows Mobile Pocket PC 2003 Is there any compiler mismatch or missing dependency or ..............................????     - Deployment Question Here's what I got: I have a User Control that is in its own .dll that optional uses another control that is in another .dll. The problem that I have is when I run my Sample code, I get an error about the control in the 2nd .dll cannot be found. I looked on the device, the .dll is not deployed. How do I get the 2nd .dll to be deployed with the other .dll? I am using VS2005. The User Control references the other control by project references. Everything builds and installs, but the 2nd .dll is not deployed when running the sample code. I know its on the machine, because it shows in the designer.     - Pocket PC w/ SQL Server 2000 and 2005 Using Visual Studio 2005 Professional: We have two versions of SQL Server running on one machine: SQL Server 2000 Enterprise (Sql2000) and SQL Server 2005 Express. We need to connect the Pocket PC (PPC) to Sql2000. The PCs can connect, but not the Pocket PCs. The Pocket PCs can ping Sql2000, but when our code tries to open an Sql Connection, we get the following SqlException Error Message: "SQL Server does not exist or access denied." Since we can ping, we know the server exists and can be seen from the PPC. We have tried multiple versions of the connection string, but this does not seem to be the problem. Our System Admin assures me that the server is not running a firewall, so what else would prevent the PPC from being able to connect to Sql2000? The PPC does not have a login ID/PWD, so I say we should *not* be using Integrated Security. Sql2000 uses port 1433, and it is setup to accept both SQL Server and Windows Authentication. We have tried different User ID/Password combinations; some have Administrator access, while others only have access to the tables we need to read. 1) How to enable IPv6 on this WindowsMobile6.0 device.

2) Does IPv6 enabled on the WindowsMobile5.0/6.0 devices bydefault?

3) If IPv6 is not enabled bydefault then what are the changes that i should
make to the WindowsMobile5/6.0 device?

Please help me out for the above questions.
