How do i get my emulator to communicate with a GPS receiver that i have plugged into my computer? Can this be done?

I was under the impression that the emulator could not access a serial port,
hence I never tried reading data from a GPS when I was starting out. As I
was going to have to try on a 'real' device sooner or later, I just made it
sooner.

If you're using eVC, here's how to configure the emulator to use a Windows
serial port:

- Go to the Tools / Configure Platform Manager menu
- Click on the emulator you want to configure, then click "Properties..."
- Click the "Configure..." button beside the "Emulator Startup Server"
combobox
- Serial port configuration is at the bottom of the dialog. The emulator
supports Windows COM1 through COM4.
