    - ActiveSync with Emulator - the old story Hi all. I want to establish a connection to the Pocket PC 2002 emulator via ActiveSync 3.5. The Pocket PC 2002 SDK documentation tells me that I have to connect two Serial Ports of my desktop to each other with a null-modem cable. But I only have one Serial Port. Instead, I've got an USB-COM adaptor, so I can connect a cable between one USB-Slot and the COM-Port. Is it possible to work with this instead? I tried, but didn't succeed so far. Is any special configuration necessary? The background of all this is that I need to get a .mdb database file to my Pocket PC 2002 emulator (.cdb). The procedure described in the msdn ("Move an Access Database into the Emulation") with this eVB-program that converts mdb to cdb (via some "tdb"-file) doesn't work.     - Developing app for wireless data transfer Hi All, I have to develop an application for wireless data transfer from Pocket PC to a PC. Application will have 2 parts. One will run on Pocket PC and another on a normal PC. Data transfer will be done via GSM/GPRS. Data will be small text files.     - Problems installing SDK - virus checker complains I'm having a problem installing the Software Development Kit for Windows Mobile 2003-based Pocket PCs. I've followed the instructions at http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx? FamilyId=9996B314-0364-4623-9EDE- 0B5FBB133652&displaylang=en, except that I missed out step 5 [Install Visual Studio .NET 2003: In order to develop applications in C# or Visual Basic .NET for Pocket PC 2003, you must install Visual Studio .NET 2003 before installing the SDK.], as I don't have VS.NET and I intend only to work in C++. I've installed evc++4 and SP2. During execution of the SDK installer, I get messages from Norton Anti-virus which say that certain .vbs scripts are malicious. The first one it reports is C:\WINNT\system32 \Platman_install.vbs, and several others are reported thereafter. I tried authorizing the scripts, but then the installer fails in cscript.exe, with "The instruction at 0x6b80cb33 references memger at 0x756d656b. The memory could not be read." and several further application errors. Can anyone advise what to do? Is this a genuinely malicious script, or is NAV being over enthusiastic?     - Serial Port Handle not freed when application closed/killed!! I have a static class declaration (global) inside my C dll. Inside the destructor of the class, i free up resource such as a serial comm handle. Problem: An activeX dll is implicitly link to this dll. A client application such as VB is using the activex. When the VB client exit without closing the serial comm port through the activex interface, the comm port is locked! My question is why the serial handle is not freed?? even the client application that loads the activex dll and the dll that actually access the serial port is killed or closed!! If i just directly access the dll that access the serial port without activex, the allocated serial port handle is freed when the client app exit without closing the port. But I need to transfer the records that I can access on the Pocket PC through POOM, to the desktop PC. So I was thinking of using RAPI to connect to the Pocket PC from the desktop PC and then use POOM to access the Pocket Outlook database and extract the records to the desktop. I have every rapi.dll function working properly, except the CeRapiInvoke function.     - LVM_GETCOLUMNORDERARRAY bug? PocketPC2002, eMbedded Visual C++ 3.0, ARM I'm experiencing a problem with a listview window in report mode that only occurs on a live PocketPC-2000 device. After bringing up the listview, I can change the width by dragging the column header and sometimes successfully drag the header to a different row. Then, after some moving around and changing columns widths, it will mess up and th header title is moved but it returns the incorrect order array. In handling the callback "case ODA_DRAWENTIRE:" in the notify callback routine, I call ListView_GetColumnOrderArray( hWndListView, NUM_TBL_COL, colOrder ); At first this will give me the correct information regarding the column order. Then after changing the order a few times it will, from then on, always report the order as 0,1,2,3 . Note that this never messes up in the emulator, or on a x86 touchscreen pc we have, but is a problem on the ARM machine. Has anyone seen this problem? Is there a bug fix of some sort for the 'Win32 (WCE ARM)' modules? THANKS!     - How can i establish a GPRS connection with eVB3.0 Hello! I'm currently working on a GPRS based application and i try to establish automatically the connection. I'm using an IPAQ3970 connected to a Nokia6310i (bluetooth). The only way i've fond is to open PocketIE, ask for a page, then PocketIE establish the connection a then my app works (it uses the WSowk control).     - Copying files from PDA to desktop PC Hi! I want to copy some files from my PDA (Pocket PC 2002) to my desktop pc. I already found RAPI, but as far as I know that is just for accessing the PDA from the PC and not the other way around, so that's no good. Another way is also using comm control and setting up a link between the desktop pc and the pda and that works just fine, except that the pda has to be connected using the com port. Please help me to discover a way of either transferring a file from the pda to the desktop pc or making a connection between both of them (without knowing the pc's ip, computer name, etc). I sent in the registration in the first week of May, however the order status, still says "Submission review completed"... Was wondering if this free pocket pc offer was a joke... since I could not find any info about experiences of other people who responded to the offer... Somebody made a posting saying that microsoft had limited pocketpcs for each country but that surprises me more since the "availability" link pointed to the page that stated that the pocketpc delivery was guaranteed (on the last day of the offer 30th June 2003). what is going on? Hi, I've a Pocket PC installer application written in VC++.
I would like to know if there is a way to retrieve device
system informations, such Product ID processor TYPE and so
on, using RAPI or reading the remote registry.
