    - How to use IPP in eVC I follow the documentation at http://support.intel.com/support/performancetools/libraries/ipp/win/ia/sb/cs-014993.htm But find some difference between the document and my environment.(I know it may owing to some version difference) My IPP version is 4.1. with eVC 4.0 Let me explain the difference between the documentation and my environment: the documentation says at 7. you would add C:\Program Files\Intel\IPPSCxx\lib and 8. e.g. default: C:\Program Files\Intel\IPPSCxx\include I know that default setting, and mine is C:\Program Files\Intel\IPP41\pca_xsc\lib C:\Program Files\Intel\IPP41\pca_xsc\include respectively. I see the documentation (http://support.intel.com/support/performancetools/libraries/ipp/win/ia/sb/cs-014993.htm) add ippIP_XSCxxPPC_d.lib at 6. I checked the documentation (ippman_pca.zip) in the installed directory (C:\Program Files\Intel\IPP41\pca_xsc) And find it's a function about Image Processing in debug mode. In eVC, I choose WCE Application, CPU choose Win32[WCE emulator], Win32[WCE_x86], and Win32[WCE ARMV4I] And choose A empty project. Then I add all the lib (ippAC_XSC41PPC_d.lib ippIP_XSC41PPC_d.lib ippJP_XSC41PPC_d.lib ippSC_XSC41PPC_d.lib ippSP_XSC41PPC_d.lib ippSR_XSC41PPC_d.lib ippVC_XSC41PPC_d.lib) to Project->Setting->Link->Input->Object/Library. When I new "A Simple Windows CE Application". It pass the compiling process. But Still failed in linking. If I comment the line of "ippsCopy_16s(pSrc, pDst, SIZE); " as follows, it passed. but we I un-comment the lint, it failed in linking.     - Signal Strength Hello, I am developing an application that will moniter a Pocket PC's signal strength for the network it is on. Can someone point me into the right direction on how I can do this. I started looking at the extended TAPI functions, but I cannot get them to work on my device. I am not sure why, but I keep getting the error LINEERR_OPERATIONUNAVAIL when trying to call the lineGetGeneralInfo function.     - Programaticaly Setting the CSD line Type in Phone edition Hi all, I am running an o2 XDAII pocket pc 2002 and I would like to be able to set up the CSD line type (Data rate 9600 (v.110) and Connection element(Non-transparent) in VC++ 4.0.     - Transfer from evc3.0 to evc4.0 hi, sir I have a project created by evc3.0, now I want to shift them to env evc4.0 however, after I created new project under evc4.0, and copy all the file. when I want to link to exe file I get an error pop up say: The build can not proceed because the current target CPU for the dependent project does not match the one for the active project.please select a CPU shared by all the projects. For many reasons, this soft needs a lot of files installed on the device, for running. I'm trying to produce a cab file which includes these files (let's say an hundred). I know cabwiz and the INF files, but it will be very time consuming to write the inf file describing all the files !! :-(( Is there a tip for handling a large amount of files in INF files ?     - Images on the Dell Axim x50v Hi, Iâ??m having some issues only on the Dell Axim x50v. Due to the higher res (640X480) on that device some of the images look very small. Others are stretched to the correct scale. All these images are just static bimaps added in the resources and it was my understanding that this should all automatically stretch to the correct size in higher res (due to using logical units). Iâ??m using C++ in Visual Studio 2005 and the images are declared in the resource file as: 147,IDC_SUBREFRESH_BITMAP,"Static",SS_BITMAP | SS_NOTIFY | WS_TABSTOP,18,94,21,19 Any thoughts as to why this images donâ??t automatically strech?     - PXA270 and WinCE 5.0 I have a NDIS intermediate driver and a stream interface driver that can run well on PPC2003 with PXA263 processor. The driver code I built in WinCE 4.2 is to choose ARMV4. Right now, I want to compile the same driver with the same code for MDA4(PXA270 processor) in WinCE 5.0 and I found that the driver is not loaded. In WinCE 5.0, I cannot select ARMV4 but ARMV4I to compile the driver code. The MDA4 we have is developed from other 3rd party. Do we need to get a BSP from that company?     - Mixing the audio source of phone application to another source Hi, We are currently investigating on how we can mix or replace the standard audio source (microphone of the phone) of the standard phone application of a Windows mobile device to another source. The goal is to be able to send through the phone specific audio datas in place of microphone inputs. HI, I am trying to get an Intermec 761 device to skip the welcome screen and just calibrate manually using the registry setting: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/HARDWARE/DEVICEMAP/TOUCH] "CalibrationData"="2047,1987 993,933 3148,915 3103,3063 975,3059 " "DriverName"="touch.dll" I load this registry setting using the Intermec utility ITCRegloader.exe on cold boot, then I warm boot and find that the screen is unusable. If I compile using DevStudio 5 - for Windows Desktop, under windows 2000 this error does not show up. While debugging an "Windows Mobile 2003 SE" device I was able to see sometimes this was an invalid pointer.     - RTS_CONTROL_TOGGLE does not work Dear all. I am using an old style RS232->RS485 converter for communicating with some hardware device Iâ??ve got. This converter uses the RTS signal to toggle between RX and TX mode on the RS485 communication. A problem I have noticed is that when setting the DCB.fRtsControl to RTS_CONTROL_TOGGLE, this does not always work. The problem has been described here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/q140030/ for Windows 95. But I also find this to be an issue in windows 98, on my PocketPC 2003 device (TDS Recon) and on several USB to RS232 converters I have been using. Now my workaround for this has been to set the DCB.fRtsControl to RTS_CONTROL_DISABLE, and then toggle by using EscapeCommFunction (hPort, SETRTS) to control the state of the RTS signal manually. The problem here is that if the RTS signal is cleared before the RS485 converter has transmitted all bytes to the hardware device, the communication is interrupted. To avoid this I am setting a delay before calling the EscapeCommFunction (hPort, CLRRTS), but this is really not a good solution since it may delay the communication unnecessary. Now, my question is, does anyone else have experience with this issue, and perhaps know of any fixes where the RTS_CONTROL_TOGGLE can be used as normal instead of manually cycling the RTS signal? Right now I have the problem that I get some OnClose related events in the emulator, but none on my PPC.     - screen rotation Hi, I have an Intermec 700C device running PPC2003 1ST EDITION and I'm looking for a way to to change the screen orientation programmatically. I have already tried the API "ChangeDisplaySettingsEx" function but it didn't work. After investigating the issue, I found out that the only way to do this is by creating a display driver that supports screen rotation using a tool by Microsoft called, Platform Builder. Unfortunately, this is not included with our MSDN Subscription, so my question is does anybody knows where can I find a display driver that supports screen rotation with PocketPC 2003 First Edition? I know that the Second Edition supports this, but the manufacturer says that upgrading to the Second Edition the devices that my client already uses is not possible. Therfore the OS has to remain PPC 2003 1st Edition... I also know that there is a utility to do this but the customer requires that I do it from within my application.     - Javascript Limitations on Pocket IE I have been asked to help out building a series of web pages for data capture on a PDA. They have asked for a website that can be used by either a computer terminal or PDA - so I have started looking into limitations of Pocket IE. Unfortunately the pages that work in IE do not work on PIE. The main functionality seems to be using javascript to populate a second drop down list based on a first drop down list. This is an ASP page written with Javascript. When you select an item in the first list, the second one does not update. The page I think uses an iframe as part of the solution of populating - but I have also looked at other people's javascript function that uses arrays and they don't work properly on Pocket IE either. I have tried finding a sample of this (as its pretty fundamental) but cannot seem to find anything about it being done on PIE. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated! Maybe someone here can help me. I recently tried to migrate a Windows
Mobile 2003 Pocket PC application ( native C++ ) to the new Windows
Mobile 5 platform. So, after actually porting some code, killing some
errors, I wanted to run the application on my Windows Mobile 5 device.
The problem I encountered was that Visual Studio 2005 ( Beta 2 ) won't
let me even deploy the application on the device. I simply says
"Deploying" in the status bar and won't do anything anymore. Same thing
happenes with the 2003 PPC SDK, and also both emulators.

The weird thing, however, is that I am able to create .NET applications
( both C# and Visual Basic ) that I actually can deploy on the device.
I am also able to debug those.

Did somebody encounter the same problem ? Is it just a bad installation
? Or is this a known bug in Visual Studio 2005 ?

Since I haven't found any answers yet looking at the MSDN or elsewhere
in the web, I really would appreciate some help here. Thanks.
