    - Possible to trap all mouse events, even for other applications? Hello all, I'm working on a simple key/screen lock application. I'd like to keep it as simple as possible. I'd like to be able to show, for example, the today screen, but prevent any mouse taps from going through to it. It seems I should be able to trap key presses alright but I'm at a loss for trapping any mouse presses outside of my application window.     - Upgrading my app onto a PPC50 device; Problems with the upgrade; Hi, stats: device : PPC5.0 activesync: 4.1 I can install my app once without any problem. When I install my app again with up dates it just installs the last cab file it installed instead of the new one. I think it is taking the cab file \program files\myapp\myapp.cab instead of the new on the cd.     - Usage of the SignTool We have gone to VeriSign and purchased a certificate for our WM5 applications. Two files were provided: <file>.spc & <file>.pvk. I have used the "SignTool Signwizard" with these & all appears well. My problem is coming up with the correct command line switches to do the same thing to automate the signing process. signtool /a /f <file>.spc /p <passwd> /csp ""Microsoft Strong Cryptographic Provider" /k <file>.pvk <targetfile>.dll I've tried a variety of combinations and keep getting "private key container not found".     - Windows CE Web Server + ASP + DLL Hi. I got a hp h6340, with pocket pc 2003 and sql ce dashboard (with windows ce web server). I made an application dll with eMbedded Visual Tools (eVc++) in ATL mode, just to generate one class to be called from asp (one simply message with a Hello World sentence). It compiles ok, and it takes the function DllRegisterServer with no problems at all. I register the dll in the iPaq, and it goes ok, even I know it's already registered when I rebuild the dll with the device as a target (ARM processor). The problems comes on trying to make the call to CreateObject from asp, which I make as follows: <% dim pruebaobject set pruebaobject = server.createobject(prueba.mensaje) ' also made as: set pruebaobject = create(prueba.mensaje) (without the "server" before. %> Pocket Internet Explorer rises the next error: Parse error in script Microsoft VBScript runtime error: '800a01b6' Description: Object doesn't support this property or method: 'Server.CreateObject' In file: /pruebadll.asp On line: 3 I due 3 days with this error, looking for some information on the net, but I still haven't found any help, nor anywhere with a response for that.     - CCeDBDatabase and VS2005 I have an eVC++ project that I'm trying to migrate to VS2005. This is an MFC project and it uses CCeDBDatabase. VS2005 seems to have no awareness of the CCeDBDatabase class. I hear that CEDB will not be supported in the next version of Windows Mobile, but what do I need to be doing with this project that uses CCeDBDatabase?     - debug/networking while in the cradle Hi, I am developing network real time application. While my device is in the cradle my program binds to IP assigned by a host for ActiveSync connection. So all communication is going through host machine and my app is not working, I don't know yet why, network might be too slow or my app can't recognize "firewall" propery. Previously I was able to take the device out of cradle and debugger would still work becuase activesync 3.8 supported ethernet connection. However 4.0 & 4.1 don't support ethernet connection so I can't do that anymore. Is there a way to debug apps and not have IP addreess for host connection. Bluetooth & IR are too slow.     - Confused by data for OID_802_11_ENCRYPTION_STATUS I use the code below (end of post) for querying encryption status on a pocket pc device running mobile 2003. I have the wireless device configured to connect to a given access point using WPA and TKIP and I use a certificate for my EAP type. The device connects fine to the secure AP, but the value I get from OID_802_11_ENCRYPTION_STATUS is 5, which is Ndis802_11Encryption2KeyAbsent. From the docs... Indicates that there are no transmit keys available for use by TKIP or WEP, and TKIP and WEP are enabled; AES is not enabled. I use basically the same setup in an app on a winxp machine connecting to the same AP and I query the value of the encryption status using WMI and get a value of 4, which is Ndis802_11Encryption2Enabled. From the docs... Indicates that TKIP and WEP are enabled; AES is not enabled, and a transmit key is available. On my mobile device, under the network key tab for configuring the authentication, the checkbox for 'The key is provided for me automatically' is set by default and I can't change it when I haev WPA and TKIP set. So my question is, why am I getting a result of Ndis802_11Encryption2KeyAbsent on my mobile? I'm expecting the same value that I get on my XP machine. How do I make it so this key is not absent?     - Changing default installation directory Folks, I understand that by creating an installation project, I can specify the exact location for all the solution's files. This is fine for the final deployment. However, during devleopment, I want to be able to do the same thing, and still be able to use the debugger. By default, if I simply Start Debugging (F5), the solution is deployed to the device's Program Files directory. In my case, I cannot do this (I am trying to debug serious memory limitation issues and need to move everything to an SD Card). Question: how do I specifiy the default deployment directory for a project without using an installation project?     - Need the WM5 phone application I have a Dell AXIM x50v and need the Microsoft Dialer for Windows Mobile 2005. I have a CF Phone card (Audiovox RTM-8000) and need a phone application. The one I seek is part of the OS. Especially if your device is a smartphone, etc. I want PHOTO integration with my Contacts, and I'm lead to believe it will all just work! My callerID will present a known contact's picture... My Contacts will have photos, etc. I want the phone app to use these, and Microsoft's is 'sposed to. Where do I get it? Is it part of the SDK?     - Possible to get DLL loaded into Pocket Outlook? Hi, I have developed a custom form for Pocket Outlook that allows users to create a new email message of my own type. This works fine. My problem is that I need to change the message class of certain incoming emails so that they can be read with my custom form, if that makes sense (unfortunately I can't guarantee that mails coming from different systems will set the message class). My current solution is to have a seperate process use the State & Notification broker to check for new emails, and if one is received process the Inbox and change the message class of messages matching my criteria. It would be more ideal to lump the two things together into the same DLL as my custom form. So, is there any way to get Pocket Outlook to load a custom DLL at startup? My problem is that often while I am using the software, the program gets closed unexpected. No error, no exception. In system/memory it shows me that I still have 7-8M free.     - intermittent drop-outs and hangs using WavIn audio... The application I've written (C#) uses the WaveIn Audio facility to make brief periodic audio recordings. The application works well, except that 2-4% of the recordings are missing some or all of the audio data, and 0.1-0.5% of the time the application hangs without error or locking up the system.     - VB.NET dataset being dumped I have a app that is writing a dataset out to xml on the device. Well i have run into a couple of very strange issues that i cant seem to track down. First issue was duplicate records, one day i was inputing data, and went to review it at the end of the day, and had 3 dupes in the dataset. Havent run into that one again though, but i am thinking it may be related to the second. That one is as follows, every once in a while not even really sure of a time frame yet as i just noticed it was doing this, the data in the XML (and i assume the data in the dataset) is being removed. Not sure why, and i have not really been able to reproduce this problem. I manged to get it to do it one time, but i did several things at once to try and make it fail. But havet been able to make it happen again. Could this be caused by the device going in and out of standby? or maybe on and off the cradle? Has anyone else experienced any of these issues?     - MIcrosoft Platform Builder Hi All, Has anyone tried using Platform Builder Kernel debugger (kdstub)? I have tried for quite some time but is still unable to connect Platform Builder to my device for debugging. Platform Builder is always in 'The Kernel Debugger is waiting to connect with target' status. My device is connected via USB cable to the COM port and I have already loaded the image to the device with other tools. My device has no Ethernet port. I understand that in order to use kdstub, I need to include Kernel Debugger capability in the image. I am doing a release build but have undefined IMGNODEBUGGER (i.e enable kernel debugger) and IMGNOKITL (i.e enable KITL). However, I cannot find kdstub.dll in the release directory. What I have are kd.dll, osaxst0.dll and osaxst1.dll. Is this the reason why Platfrom Builder cannot connect to my device? If yes, how do I include kdstub.dll in the image? Also, may I know if it is a must to specify a transport in 'Target->Connectivity Option' before Platform Builder can connect to the device? What if transport is set to 'NONE', can it still connect?     - Fiveway navigation in pocket pc Tribe, In my Palm dev days we called it the FiveWay or 5-way. It's the rocker nav pad with center button. We used it to navigate focus around data entry screens. Well this functionality does not work as expected on a pocket pc device.     - PPC 2003 Crypto engine 40-bit suppport I need to make the new PPC 2003 use 40-bit encryption for a MD5-RC4 hash password. I developed the code under PC 2000-2002 which used 40-bit encryption and now in 2003 it fails due to the newer 128-bit upgrade. So to provided packward compatability I would like to use 40-bit when running on the PPC 20003 plataform; how is this done? Under the PC Windows platform it can be achined by adding the "0x00280000" falg to the CryptoDeriveKey(...) method call.     - Security Question Hello All, First off, I have to say that all of the files that I am using in this post are not signed. I just have a question that I am hoping someone out here can answer. I have an application that consists of a .exe file and a dll that the .exe uses. I did not notice this until I started testing on the 700w Treo, but when I deploy or install my application, the first time I run the application, I get a Windows message saying that an error occurred in my application and if I wanted to fill out a bug report. The wierd thing is that when I run the application again, I do not get any error. I then created a sample application that just uses the dll. I tested using this and it would do the exact same thing. I would be prompted for security for the sample application, but nothing else. I then tried to debug this application and I noticed that this time, I get prompted for security for both the application and the DLL and it worked. My question is, why would this fail the first time and work perfectly fine every time after that? Also, is there any way that I can prompt the user to allow the system to use the dll? Also, I do not think that signing all of these applications is an option with my company, so I hope that there is another way. Thank you all for your time. I'm calling the WM2003 Inbox (tmail.exe) using CreteProcess in my program.
Anyone knows how can I call the inbox, and when it starts, it open in a
specific account that was previously created, instead of the ActiveSync
account?

I believe this can be done by passing a command line when calling the
tmail.exe process, but I didn't found which command lines I can use to this.
