    - keybd_event wont fire KeyDown event for VK_Return keycode on textbox? Hi all, I am working with C# CF2 on windows mobile 5 phone edition on a Symbol MC70 device. For some reason the KeyDown Event doesn't fire when you use the keybd_event to send the VK_Return= 0x0D. If I use the hard keyboard Return I get. KeyDown KeyPress KeyUp KeyUp If I use the soft keyboard Return or keybd_event and VK_Return I get. KeyPress KeyUp If I use any of the three above methods (Soft keyboard, Hard keyboard or keybd_event) to input Numbers, letters or even Delete then I get. KeyDown KeyPress KeyUp Which is what I would have expected from all of these scenarios. I have tried setting the Textbox allow returns property and it had no effect. I have also tried setting the form key preview property to see if that would make any difference. This is the only post I have been able to find that even resembles my problem, it is for the desktyop and it is the richtextcontrol, but I don't really understand what the resolution to the problem was. http://www.thescripts.com/forum/thread249414.html I really need to be able to send the VK_Return using keybd_event and have it fire the Key Down event. Any idea on how this can be done? I have already tried moving my code that is running in the KeyDown to the KeyUp but this has not been an acceptable solution to the problem as it introduces to many bugs. I have attached the code I have used for testing to the bottom of this post I create all the controls dynamically so all that you need to do to test is start a new single form project and past all this code over the top of your form class code. The way to test is uncomment lines from the textBox1_GotFocus event.     - CLASS tag attribute on Internet Explorer Mobile Hello, I am developing a web application that should work on IEM too. Trying the rendering on a htc pocket pc (wm5.0) I encountered a problem rendering the XTHML "SELECT" tag. It seems that IEM doesn't take in consideration the "class" attribute of the tag, so I am unable to specify any kind of style for my select. Do you have any suggestion for this?     - MiniportInitialize and driver loading on WM5 I have an SDIO wifi device which is built into an embedded system board running Windows Mobile 5. The problem I am having is that MiniportInitialize is called only during system boot. I want to disable the device, replace the driver and then restart the device. But when I try to disable the device, it seems that the driver stays loaded. So I am forced to reboot the platform to test my new driver.     - Custom Today item not showing up in Today settings (very weird) Hi all, I've developed a WM5+ custom Today screen item, using Visual Studio 2005 and the WM6 SDK. The problem is that some people report of being unable to find my custom item in their Today settings. It simply doesn't show up in the list at all. They have already checked the registry references put there by the CAB installer (which I also made) and these are correct. To debug that, i've made another tester app that tries to load the DLL file (using LoadLibrary, so no static reference) but EVEN this tester app fails to load altogether, with a generic "untrusted app or component not found" error. The two files (tester exe and dll) were started as simple projects, no MFC, ATL or other dependencies. The joke is that other people report that my custom item is working flawlessly! In the OnPaint() method I am using: CPaintDC dc(this); dc.ExtTextOut(10,10,ETO_CLIPPED,CRect(blah...blah),blah...); This works fine but it draws a rectangle round the text which is unsightly and I have to remove it. Is there a way of just writing out the 'letters' of the text and not the background rectangle. Hi, I have written a small service application for windows mobile 6.0 and I have registered the service in registry under LOCALMACHINE\services key by setting the . context and index 0. Everything works fine. But the problem is my service is not getting started on every restart on my device. Its getting loaded only if I call it from someother applciations by using "RegisterService" api.     - WindowsMobile.PocketOutlook.Appointment: Recurring appointments Hi, I am trying to programatically determine on what days an appointment occurs (on Windows Mobile 5). I tried creating a recurring appointment (on desktop Outlook), which occurs every Thursday (1 Nov, 8 Nov, 15 Nov...) I then changed the time of the 8 Nov one (selected "Open this occurrence") to 7 Nov. So the appointment now occurs on 1 Nov, 7 Nov, 15 Nov... However, when I check it using OutlookSession.Appointment.Items[x].RecurrencePattern.GetOccurrence(date), The appointment looks like it still occurs on the 1st, 8th and 15th. GetOccurrence(7 nov) returns null. How do I get the new (modified) occurrences of the appointment? Is there a better way than using GetOccurrence() for each day in the year? Thank you in advance. I've downloaded .NET COMPACT FRAMEWORKs... v1.0 says "need newer version", v2.0 w/WP2 gives above error and v3.0-3.5 does NOT sync to my iPAQ hx2495b. I thought of creating a new form, put my button in it(each time with a different text), call ShowDialog(). On that button click event, just close the form. It doesn't work. But this did not work for me either. I have found some other threads, but with no solution. The one solution I can think of is to detect BTH stack in the device and call appropriate functions. Is this possible? If so, how one can do it? During the search I found some solutions how to turn wifi on/off via SetDevicePower function. Can this approach be used for BTH? SDK: "Pocket PC 2003"; Application Type: "Single document with DocList". 2. In the message map of CMainFrame, add a line "ON_WM_WININICHANGE()" 3. Define and declare the function: void CMainFrame::OnWinIniChange(LPCTSTR psz) { CFrameWnd::OnWinIniChange(psz); } 4. Now run this application under WinMo Emulator. 5.     - Bluetooth SPP profile not offered Hi, I just got the latest WM 6.0 Pocket PC (brand withheld) which implements MS Bluetooth. It supports SPP among other profiles. For instance, I can set an outbound port to a remote device and send data through it (via the proper COM port in my C++ app). However, when discovering the sevices on this PPC, SPP is not reported. That means that a remote application trying to connect via SPP by first determining whether SPP is supported will not work. And that's the problem, because the Pocket PC does support SPP. It only doesn't let others know about it. Does anyone know of some setting (registry flag, API) that would force the MS BT stack to advertise SPP along the other profile it supports?     - Canceling a download via HttpWebRequest Hi all, I have some code running on the Pocket PC (w/CF v2.0) that grabs a file (about 20 MB) from the server using HttpWebRequest. I want to give to user the possibility to cancel the download (the download method is running in another thread which is aborted when the user cancels). From what I understand, to close everything gracefully requires calling Abort() on the HttpWebRequest object and/or Close() on the WebResponse object. Failure to do so will interfere in the subsequent attempts to download the file. But here goes, calling either of the methods seems to hang the device, but in fact I think there is some cleanup going on in the backgroup. BUT, from a user point of view, it changes nothing. Is there a bug in the CF because the same code works A1 on the desktop. Has anybody been able to work around this, or am I simply missing something? Thanks.     - RAPI being block buy Windows mobile Security model? Hi all, I have written a C# application that is to be used to commission(install and setup) Symbol HHT (Windows mobile devices) with drivers, Wifi network setting, phone settings and software. I have got the application doing all the basics like coping files, deleting files, editing the registry and running processes all using the OpenNETCF.RAPI.Communication wrapper. But the security seems to be blocking me at every turn. It all works as long as I am not using any System folders(Windows, Application) or protected Registry Keys (LocalMachine\Drivers) The problem is that these are the exact places that I need to be executing these things in order to set the devices up. The problem with doing the commissioning manually is that we often need to setup more that 1000 at a time. And doing this manually can take weeks. We were hoping to streamline this process buy scripting it. But now it is starting to seem like this cant be done either.     - Passthru driver under WM6 I have built the example passthru NDIS driver under the WINCE600/ Common/Public/OAK/Drivers/Netsamp example and am attempting to run this on an Asus A639 PDA (Running WM6). Steps taken thus far: 1. Compile/Build example 2. Sign using the SDK test certificate 3. Installed SDKCerts.cab on the PDA 4. Made the registry changes as detailed in the example However the passthru driver never appears to load (from what I can gather using the ndisconfig application or looking for passthru.dll under devices in the process viewer). What steps can I take to debug this? (sorry i'm new to device drivers etc). Is it possible to test the driver under the wm6 emulator (I am using Platform Builder/ VS2005)? Any guidance on doing this? I have googled high and low but it appears not many people are involved with drivers on PPC (either that or my google-fu is poor!) Please help as i'm tearing my hair out! Hi, I would like to define a gesture for FTouchFlo which will open the Programs shortcuts folder in the same way as selecting "Programs" within the "Start" menu. Is there a possibility for this by starting a built-in application with some kind of command line parameter? Within the Windows directory there is a file folderview.exe which does something similar if started, but then showing the wrong folder.
