Tabcontrol 's Tabpage Position so strange
I put a tabcontrol control into my form,and then add the tabpage. In the IDE
,I can see the tabpage's "tab" on the top,but when I run it,the tabpage's

Provisioning the device (PPC 2003)
I remember seeing an artcle or MSDN video clip of how the new 2003 devices
can be provisioned using XML files downloaded from a server.
If I remember correctly, there was a website where you can go create sample
XML files with settings for your Pocket PC (e.g: start page for PIE etc).
Does anyone know what that site was? And where can I get some more info on
the provisioning functionality? I have not installed the 2003 SDK yet, so
let me know if its included in that.

Can not deploy to iPaq h2215 with VS .NET 2003
My Development Envirnoment:
1. newly configured window 2003 server
2. VS.NET 2003 architect installed
3. pocket PC 2003 SDK installed
4. SQL Server for CE 2.0 installed
5. ActiveSync 3.7 installed
My Pocket PC:
1. brand new HP iPaq h2215 with pocket pc 2003 OS
2. ActiveSync 3.7
Connection:
ActiveSync USB connect h2215 to my developing PC without any problems,
I can install pocket street, games to pocket pc and browser WWW from
pocket pc.
Problem:
I have encountered a deployment problem when trying to deploy a simple
C# project developed with VS.NET 2003 to my new iPaq h2215 (with
pocket pc 2003).
I am keep getting a error message:
Deploying to Pocket PC Device using TCP Connect Transport
Error: Cannot establish a connection. Be sure the device is physically
connected to the development computer.
Confusion:
1. My ActiveSync is working fine, the light is green and status is
connected, I can view my pcoket pc folder from development PC, connect
to Interent...
2. However, VS.NET 2003 IDE can not establish TCP connection to pocket
pc at all!
3. This is my first time to deploy VS. NET 2003 project to pocket pc
2003, before, I have done this with VS. NET 2003 to pocket pc 2002
with ActiveSync 3.5 without causing me any problems!

i'm getting a "there is no source code available for the current location"
when i try to instanciate a web service. i have added a web reference to a
site that has a namespace "automation.synchronize".
in the class there is a variable defined:
private webservice as automation.synchronize
i get the error when instanciating it here:

USB file dump from WinCE industrial controller
We have a unit gathering some data on a WinCE device. We need to
goto the premises and download some data files. Since the device has
a USB port, (no accessible disk, or flash) it would seem that the
best way is to simply download to a USB memory card watch-a-ma-
hinky. Does anyone have a utility for doing this or the code to do
this. It seems simple ... but I don't want to re-invent something
that is probably already be available.

Install SQL-Server in PPC Emulator
Which steps are necesary to install SQL Server CE (or other programs) in the
emulator?
I try to conect the emulator with Active Sync 3.7 but it don't work. I have
eVC++ and SDK 2003 and I can run my own C++ programs in the emulator.
Could be instaled in the emulator?
Could I install other software?

Anyone else having problem with POOM calls under the 2003 OS?
I've got an application that uses POOM to read and display apppointments on
the screen. It seems to work fine under the 2002 OS, however, POOM works
sporatically under the 2003 OS for the same exact executable. Specifically,
when I do a ->get_Items() and go through all the available appointments POOM
doesn't always return all the appointments!
It seems to work ok if I leave out the
->put_IncludeRecurrences(VARIANT_TRUE)
call, but works inconsistently if I have this call in. Anyone else
experience this kind of problem with POOM and the 2003 OS?

Fixed columns of one list
I would like to know as I can fix a column of my list,
thus, when I click on the ScrollBar of the list, this
column do not move. For example I have a list with the

Multiple button clicks slow
I have a PPC program that has some owner drawn buttons and a text box up top
(very similiar to the calculator button). If you try to press the same
button (like the #1 in the calculator) in a row the second press doesn't
register unless you wait a second or so. This doesn't happen in the
calculator program. I can't see what I'm doing wrong.

I need some information regarding WPA on PPC 2003:
1. Will it be supported? I know that CE.NET 4.2 supports it, but I've been
hearing reports that WPA isn't enabled on PPC 2003.

3. Where can I find documentation regarding the interface to the EAP/PEAP

I read the earlier post that said to buy a 3rd party tool
to develop with Access and pocket pc 2003 ... Does that
mean that is not possible to connect to an Access Database
like you can connect to an sql database without writing an
extensive tool?
My situation is that I developed an application for pocket
pc with eVB to depoly july 1. I developed on pocket pc
2002, when the rest of the handhelds arrived they were
pocket pc 2003 (we did not order all pc's at the same
time) and my app did not work on them for obvious
reasons. Do I have any other options then re-writing the

I have downloaded Embeded Visual C++ 4.0 and it's service
pack 4.0, with
pocket pc SDK and installed it in Windows Xp and Windows
2000, several times.(on about 10 diferent computer),but
it does not work efficiently. sometimes it links with
it's emulator and sometimes does not. sometimes
some of it's features install(exp, Arm and Mips Platform)
and sometimes not, so it seems to me it is an unstable
software. would you please help me in this situation.(my
platforms support all of the requirements in
the instalation guide).

I have a user interface which has a tab control. In one of the tabs, I have
a Groupbox with radio buttons.
I notice a strange thing in that when I tab into the page with the group
box, one of the radio button function is invoked as if that button is
pressed.
What could be a reason for this behavior?
Also, the eVC help file suggests using "Section Labels" instead of GroupBox.

ActiveSync with Emulator - the old story
Hi all.
I want to establish a connection to the Pocket PC 2002 emulator via
ActiveSync 3.5.
The Pocket PC 2002 SDK documentation tells me that I have to connect
two Serial Ports of my desktop to each other with a null-modem cable.
But I only have one Serial Port.
Instead, I've got an USB-COM adaptor, so I can connect a cable between
one USB-Slot and the COM-Port.
Is it possible to work with this instead?
I tried, but didn't succeed so far. Is any special configuration
necessary?
The background of all this is that I need to get a .mdb database file
to my Pocket PC 2002 emulator (.cdb). The procedure described in the
msdn ("Move an Access Database into the Emulation") with this
eVB-program that converts mdb to cdb (via some "tdb"-file) doesn't
work. (I don't have such a "\emulation\palm300\My Documents"-folder;
creating one doesn't work either).

file, the small player opens (not the windows media
player). But it can't play all wave files, only those of
PCM format. I've other wave files of A-Law format, which

Developing app for wireless data transfer
Hi All,
I have to develop an application for wireless data transfer from Pocket PC
to a PC. Application will have 2 parts. One will run on Pocket PC and
another on a normal PC. Data transfer will be done via GSM/GPRS. Data will
be small text files.
Can anyone please guide me on what all hardware/software/sdk requirements
will be there in developing such an application.
1. GSM/GPRS support on iPaq 3800 series - What all is needed in terms of
hardware and software.
2. On PC- Do I need some additional hardware for GPRS connectivity, or some
software.

Getting windows belonging to a process
Greetings -
Is there is a way to find all top-level windows that belong to a
certain process on Pocket PC 2002. The process can be specified
by its ID or by its handle.
And - reversely - is there is a way to get a process ID by having
HWND of a window that belongs to this process?
It all was available in PSAPI.DLL but PSAPI is not available on
Pocket PC :((

Problems installing SDK - virus checker complains
I'm having a problem installing the Software Development
Kit for Windows Mobile 2003-based Pocket PCs. I've
followed the instructions at

execution of the SDK installer, I get messages from Norton
Anti-virus which say that certain .vbs scripts are

\Platman_install.vbs, and several others are reported

StretchBlt
Does anyone have any experience using StretchBlt on
PocketPC? I am trying to use it with no apparent
success. It will blit my DIB without any trouble but it
will not compress it.
Alternatively, any suggestions on how I could achieve
blitting a compressed DIB without using the StretchBlt()
routine?

WTL on Pocket PC
Hi,
Is there anybody using WTL (Windows Template Library) port on Pocket PC ?
There is (on pocketpcdn.com) Pocket PC version of WTL but it is based on
WTL 3.1.
I wonder if it is complete port of WTL 3.1 ?
May be there is Pocket PC port compliant to WTL 7.0 ?
If someone use WTL, I'd like to ask, what is your experience ?
Could you recommend WTL for complex application development ?
