When I went back to finish, I get an error message that says <AC206> is not a valid interest amount. Since I clicked postpone and I had already entered the interest amount, now that box is dim and I can't change the <AC206> that's in there.     - How to sync money between Laptop and desktop computers I / my wife use our desktop computer as our main computer and that is where our money program is active. I just purchased a Laptop computer and would like to keep the laptop money program synced daily with the desktop money program.     - Account balance dsicrepencies within Money 2004 Premium? I have been using Money 2004 Premium for about six months now and love it. It is so easy to use and has really helped me get a handle on where my money is going and getting my finances under control. This has really been helpful with my "Total Money Makeover". However, I do have one, very small problem. A few months ago a 1 cent discrepency popped up in one account. I have one account with a very small balance of $210.74. The Money account register says $210.74, my bank statements say $210.74, my bank's online info says $210.74 and Money and my bank agree whenever I synch up and update the data online. The discrepency is in the amount shown on the Account List page or under my Favorite Accounts section of my Money Home screen. They both show the account balance as 1 cent less at $210.73. What gives? Has anyone else ever noticed a problem like this? Is it a bug? It's only with this one account and it hasn't always been this way. I've looked everywhere I can think of but it has me totally stumped. Like I said, it's only 1 cent and not a big Earth shattering deal but I would expect all of the data to match within the same application at the very least and I'd like to get it corrected if at all possible.     - Money Accessibility and Sharing Forgive me for reposting, but it's been nearly a week, and I didn't want to be forgotten. I am running Windows XP. My wife doesn't see very well, so her windows profile is set to 800 x 600 with extremely large fonts, etc. We have our My Money.mny file in our "Shared Documents" folder, but when she starts Money from her profile and attemps to open the money file, we get a message that says she doesn't have permission to access it.     - Portfolio button doesn't work When I click the portfolio button, the portfolio flashes on the screen, then disappears; the screen reverts to whichever view I was using when I clicked the portfolio button.     - Custom Sales Tax Reports in MSM Small Bus. 2004 Is there any way to create a custom report in MSMSB 2004 that shows all invoices per qtr. with totals for tax exempt and tax collected.     - Passport Sign-In Name Change I recently changed my passport sign-in name from xyz@domain.com to abc@domain2.com. However, even though I can log into Money 2004 with the new sign-in name and everything works on the web, each time I open Money 2004 it still has the older sign-in name in the Sign-In Name field. I'm able to retype the new one and then my password but I'd like to be able to set Money to remember the new Sign-In Name. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!     - Transaction Date for online payments When I enter a future date for an epay, Money changes it to the earliest possible pay date. I want the date to remain the exact date I entered. For example, I plan to make a deposit on the First, and want to schedule an epay for the 3rd. I enter the transaction on the 25th of the previous month with a "pay date" of the 3rd. As soon as I Submit the payment, the date changes to the 30th, but I haven't made the deposit yet. I want Money to show the 3rd in the transaction register.     - Update your property value with data from HomeAdvisor? In Money 2002 I used to be able to go to the "House" view of the Money home page, click on "Estimate My Home's Value" and then be taken to a web page where I would enter my address. It would then estimate my home's current value and update that value in Money. What happened to that quite useful module? Now, when I click on "Estimate My Home's Value" and enter my address, I may get one or two recent home sale prices in the area, and that's it. No estimate of my home's value and no automatic Money update. Since I have no idea if my home is comparable to those, the whole thing is now quite useless. Any feedback or suggestions?     - Money 2004 Canadian I got an new Dell LT and it had Money 2004 installed. I did setup my accounts there and everything was working for me until I started my RRSP accounts. I found out that everything was designed for the US (TAX-Accounting system). I am looking every where but I can't find a Money 2004 Canadian version.     - how do I enter annual budget items? 'new to Money04. I pay my own real estate taxes, so there are 3 once-a-year bills for local, county and school taxes. I entered them as recurring yearly bills, but they don't show up on my monthly budget :-( Right now it shows the money I know I need for that as being disposable income! The Standard version comes with only 1 year of unlimited support and 2 years of online services. On converting Quicken files the footnote says this... "The Converter Wizard for Quicken® in the U.S. version of Microsoft Money 2004 Premium will convert files from Quicken U.S. versions 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, Quicken 2002, and Quicken 2003." http://www.intuit.com/support/quicken/2004/options/winindex.html?product=..% 2F2004%2Foptions%2Fwinindex.html&submit=Go This is the only link on the Quicken webpage I can find about support options.     - 401(k) Headaches - Beginner Advice Needed Okay, I'm in the process of learning the whole process of managing accounts with Money... up until now haven't had to do anything with a 401(k) plan. In my infinite lack of wisdom in this area, I have no idea how to set this thing up in Money 2004's 401(k) manager or confirm that it is in fact properly set up. I've successfully got the 401(k) account put into Money, and I have set up the last several paychecks' 401(k) contributions section to go to, for example, "My 401(k) Plan (Contributions)". Does this number typically also include the amount that my employer contributes also? I'm looking at my first statement which I received 12/31/03... and the numbers from my own Contributions and the "New Contributions" seciton are close, but not quite: Money 2004 says $269.86; the statement says $252.52 (note that this is before the Net Market Change of $7.16). Why the $17 difference? Is there a discrepancy other than maybe an incorrectly entered number in my paychecks? Also, how do I know what to enter for my investments for this account when trying to enter information from a statement? I see that the company is not listed as being one of Money's online banking accounts, but is there a way to download information for the individual investments? Even if I can't download information for them, I have no idea how to classify them... Bond, CD or U.S. Savings Bond, Equity or Index Option, Money Market, Mutual Fund, or Stock.     - Bills, Accounts and Budget I have opened checking accounts and credit card accts on money. When I pay a credit card via Bills and Deposits, it enters it on both accounts but not in the budget, if I pay it through the checking account it will then appear in the budget but not on the credit card account..even those categories and subcategories are the same. What am I doing wrong?? If I do it the second way I found I can manually enter it on the credit card account but need to exclude from budget or it doubles...which is double the work entering.     - Unassigning category from payee Money 2004 Deluxe: I've read in other threads that you can't assign a default category to a payee. What, then, can you do when Money continually assigns the same wrong sub-category to a particular payee in downloaded transactions? I have repeatedly corrected the error in the register transaction forms, but Money refuses to get a clue. On the other hand, Money 2000 had it right, with the same file (prior to converting to Money 2004,) and Money 2004 has been very successful at applying the payee's alias -- so it's not completely incapable of learning.     - Incentive Stock Options I used MSFT Money for while and had an account with Incentive Stock Options that I "synced" with MSN Money's Portfolio. That resulted in an account showing the Stock Option purchases. Now I have been granted another ISO and want it to show up in the MSN portfolio. The problem is I have converted from Money to Quicken and there does not appear to be a way to directly enter Incentive Stock Options into the MSN Portfolio -- Only Stock and Option contracts (Puts for example).     - Home equity LOC - there has to be a better way I'm getting tired of how Money handles my equity LOC. I have it set up as a credit card type account, which is really the source of the problem, but Money doesn't really provide an alternative that I'm aware of. First of all, it considers it equivalent to credit card debt for the purposes of reporting, planning for savings goals, etc. And the Tax planner has a nasty bug in which it refuses to pull in transactions I have in the LOC even though I have them categorized as Loan:Mortgage Interest. Anyone found a workaround for these issues? I thought about possibly changing it to a bone fide loan account, but seems like it could be problematic too. Any ideas?     - Sorting Subcategories in Money 2004 My wife is using Money 2004 for a variety of accounts and a perplexing problem has come up -- we cannot seem to find a way to re-sort report subcategories.     - Cannot open the money program I have been using Microsoft money for about 2 years. I got it pre-installed on my win XP Os via the Microsoft works suite 2003 that was also pre-installed for me. Now when I click to open the program, I get the following error message: "Cannot display the End User License Agreement which must be displayed and accepted before you can use the application. To display the agreement, reinstall the application" I cannot understand what has suddenly gone wrong to cause this problem. I have run the EULA fix but to no avail.     - erroneous roi calculations What causes this? I have a mutual fund for which the 3 month and ytd calc is obviously wrong. During this period I transferred the shares from one broker to another. I used the "transfer out" command to move the shares from one broker account in my pertfolio to the other. Did this cause the miscalculation?     - Upgrade from Money 97 to 2004 and additional ? I have been operating in Money 97 since the beginning of time. I have recently obtained Money 2004, and wished to ask the user group of any issues prior to upgrading to the latest edition. They are both Standard editions, as it is used for personal home use. I appreciate any assistance offered to avoid pitfalls. Secondly, I have discovered that I have incorrectly accounted for a Loan/Overdraft protection account that effects multiple accounts. Is there a way to make holistic changes vs. individual line items in either edition? I have been unable to find this tool, and have nearly 250+ entries over the course of time, and was looking for an easy way to correct my errors. Finally, on this same account, it appears to have a running total of all tranactions. Rather than have a current balance for advances then payments on the account, it has a running total vs. balance.     - Money 2003 - Got an error on on-line transfer After pressing ok on error message which suggested I resend the transaction later as bank is unable to process; I pressed cancel. However the transaction is now in italics in both the debited account and the credited account with an electronic 'icon' on the credit account list.     - Cannot uninstall trial version of Money A few weeks ago I downloaded the trial version of Money to see if I would prefer it to Quicken. I gave Money the edge and decided to buy Money 2004 but I didn't want to download it.     - cost basis/avg cost per share I've got 2 accounts (mutual funds) set up under a single financial institution. In Portfolio, using Valuations view, Money calculates the cost basis for both accounts. In Holdings view, it only provides cost basis for one account, while displaying other details for both. Also, in the Investment Performance section at the bottom of the Portfolio screen, the commentary says the average weighted cost for one of the funds is $0. I would like an average cost per share calculation for both funds. I can easily calculate this if I have reliable cost basis info for both funds, but what's this $0 about? I cannot sync Money 2001 desktop to Ipaq pocketpc running
PPC2003. I downloaded the latest version of PPC money to
sync with. The program installs to my PPC. When I run MS
Active Sync it returns that it did sync Money. I go to
run Money from my PPC in the program folder. The icon
looks like a generic exe file icon. When I try to run a

As far as I know, a ppc2003 cannot sync with 2001. You'll need 2003
(mechanism previously posted to this newsgroup) or 2004.
