    - Money 2006 - Yodlee-based account updates failing! Strange behavior in my trial Money 2006 configuration. I've added 18 various accounts- credit cards, brokerage, savings. Several different financial institutions. On 9/5, I only had a few accounts, and they worked. I had set them up weeks prior, and they had worked so far. I added the rest of them on 9/6, and while they were able to be added, the existing accounts (which happened to be Bank of America accounts, which were Fleet accounts until recently, adding an extra variable to this equation) showed up as an "unsuccessful update", but the rest of them downloaded their data appropriately. I figured it was because I had inadvertently interrupted the download when I logged in. Tuesday, none of my accounts would sync up. Today, Wednesday night, they still don't work. However, now I find, upon closer inspection, that all of and only my accounts that are linked into Money via Yodlee do not work (error codes 1001 and -2000). Any of the credit cards that store the login info within Money work fine, and I've got 3 different credit cards from 2 different companies set up this way and working fine to prove this. I thought perhaps the account that Money creates to sync with yodlee behind the scenes was somehow corrupted, so I created a new passport account, created a new money file, and I can no longer add a new account- even though I added it successfully on Monday. Adding insult to injury, I can't contact Microsoft customer support because the product ID of the trial product doesn't seem to allow me free customer support from Microsoft. Please help!!     - OFX Web Statements Downloaded to Wrong Account I just upgraded from Money2002 to 2005. When I now download my bank checking account statement it is downloaded to the wrong account, a credit card account from a different bank. How do I get it to download to the correct account.     - 2006 - Add an Account I just bought Money 2006, and everytime I try to add an account, I get a "The list is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later." Well, I've been trying again later for over a week, and it still gives me that message. But if I go onto Moneycentral, it works fine. Only problem is that some of the accounts I added on Moneycentral aren't showing up in Money 2006, while others are... Anyone have any ideas how to fix the "The list is temporarily unavailable.     - Your Portfolio: Performance View problem I've been using money since '98. Upgraded to the 2000 version and the 2004 versions and this problem is still here. The problem is that the Ann. Ret. column in the performance view shows N/A for one fund in the fund group that I have set up. There are a ton of purchases in there that date back to 1995. I really don't want to wipe them out and re-enter them. The ROI All Dats shows a valid amount (107.6%), along all other fields, except for the Annual Return. I do have other funds in this group with higher ROI All Dates percentages, so I don't think that is were the problem is. I have tried running both the quick and standard repairs, no errors were found either time. I do have two other N/A on Ann. Ret. Both are ones I understand, I had some insurance in a mutual company that converted to a stock based corporation and they distributed stock as part of the conversion, so there is a cost basis of zero. Any suggestions on how to treat the cost basis, or was I correct in assumming a $0.00 basis? The second is what is now a penny stock ($.007), so the math on both of these involves the current value divided by zero. Any suggestion on how fix the account to gain a correct Annual Return figure.     - Bill Pay feature not working Money2006 First Sorry for the double post but I wanted to be more specific in the subject. I currently have Money 2003 and downloaded the trial version of Money 2006 because I am very interested in the Bill Pay features. I have been unsuccessfull in using the Bill Pay features in Money. My bank is listed and I can download transactions but when I follow the steps provided by Money to setup bill pay the button to Pay Bill is greyed out. Any Ideas? Also do I have to sign up for .net passport for that to work or is it a feature the bank has to provide?     - Citicard download issue - fixed??? There have been many reports of problems getting Active Statements from Citicards. The issue data wasn't being downloaded and the only way to resolve was by disabling online services, then re-enabling them. Citi now reports that they have resolved this issue, and the fix was pushed live on 8/31. Is anyone still seeing the problem since then?     - Quicken conversion Money 2005 standard version. Quicken Deluxe 2004. When I try to convert a Quicken file, I get an error message that Quicken data is contained in several files and Money cannot find all files------. All the files are there.     - Multi-currency functionality broken in 2006? Using the US edition of Money 2006 Premium (upgraded from 2005). Attempt to make a manual payment in a mortgage account, debiting a checking account. Both the mortgage account and the checking account are denominated in British Pound. The base currency in Money is US Dollar. When you enter the payment, Money prompts for a conversion rate for the payment and indicates in the dialog box that the checking account is denominated in US Dollar despite the fact that the Account Settings for that account show it as denominated in British Pound. Tried setting up a new Money file with just a checking account and a mortgage account. Behaviour was repeated. If I change the base currency to British Pound, it works OK. If I have British Pound base and US Dollar mortgage & checking accounts, I get the conversion prompt! In other words, if the checking account and mortgage account are in the same currency but that currency is NOT the base currency, you get the prompt. Note: ordinary account transfers, say between British Pound Checking and British Pound Savings with US Dollar as base, work fine. It's just when you attempt the payment in the mortgage account that the issue occurs. Anyone else seen this behaviour or able to validate it? It worked fine in Money 2005.     - Money 2004, Citibank, Auto Update Stopped Working Hi I use Money 2004 Dlx to download transactions from my Citibank Credit card accounts. It was working perfectly fine till last month. Now, Money is not able to download the transactions from one account. Interestingly, it has no problem downloading the transactions from other account. BTW, both accounts have different user ID's. I tried to solve this issue thru "modify services". It does connect to my account as it detects the right CC number, but nothing happens after that.     - Money broken by Internet Upgrade I started Money (v11 - 2003 Standard??) yesterday & it automatically began a major upgrade (backed up & closed Money). The trouble is it got to the stage where it insists on inserting the CD & I lost it when I moved house recently. I now can't start Money - it always asks for the CD & shuts down if I cancel the update. Is there a registry key or something I can change to stop this happening - it's a disaster as my financial data isn't accessible. I also noticed in Add/Remove programs that there was a Money UK update which is wrong as I'm in Australia - we stopped using pounds in 1963. Any help much appreciated.     - Exporting, Editing and Downloading an account file I've read all the help about QIF files and still have this question. I recently upgraded to Money 04 from - believe it or not - Money V1. In that old program I never used categories. Now with M04 I want to use categories. I'm looking for some kind of a hack or trick that will let me assign a single old transaction to a categoy - and then have that category assigned to all past transactions to the same Payee. It looks like M04's export/import features are limited to QIF, which is a littel hard to work with because of variable lines per record. If it exported/imported .CSV files I could easily use Excell to modify groups of transactions with the same payee. Any advice would be greatly appreciated: - Do newer or older versions of Money have CSV import? - Does anybody have scripts to convert from QIF to a nice readable spreadseet and back? - Does anyone have a program that can open a MNY file and edit it?     - Online account data suddenly disappeared I'm having a perplexing problem with Money 2005. When I first attempted to log on this morning, I kept getting an error message that my login/password was incorrect, even though I knew it wasn't. Finally, after several re-attempts and a reboot, I was able to login to Money, but I then received an error message that my money data saved on my PC didn't match that saved online at MSN Money. When I chose to load the file from my PC, I soon discovered that the online info for all of my accounts--the usernames, passwords, etc. that allow Money to synchronize with all of my bank accounts, credit cards, and investments--was suddenly gone! I was able to manually set up the data (again!) for most of my accounts, but I still can't get two of my accounts to work. Everytime I attempt to setup these accounts for online access, I get the error message: "Account setup is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later." Not being able to access my account information online is quickly becoming a very frustrating problem...anyone have any idea as to why this might be happening?     - Back to 2002 From 2006 I know some people won't agree with me but I've gotten to the point, in only one week, that Money 2006 has to be the buggiest software I've ever encountered. I've been running Money 2002 (OEM version) since 2/02 and still use archived files from my prior Money 1997 (OEM version). I have never had a problem with it. It does everything I need and want. I found it 100% dependable. I decided it was time to upgrade to Money 2006 Deluxe. Bad decision! I've spent the last week trying to fix the following: Can't get the backup files to save in the same directory as MyMoney file; Can't change the number of backups from 3, on both hard drive and CD drive; When shutting down Money and within minutes attempting to re-open it, receive message that Money is still running. This went on for ten minutes one time. I find it very slow in responding to commands. I'm constantly looking at the hour glass waiting for the next page to open. I could go on but I think I've made my point. I've uninstalled Money 2006 and re-installed Money 2002 from the original OEM CD. It's running perfectly. It is a very well-written survey that allows you to offer detailed feedback on how you use the program and why you don't like the aspects of the program you don't like.     - Unable to Open a backup file (Money 2004) on a new computer Though I am computer savvy, MS Money is driving me crazy. Last year I have installed Money 2004 on my laptop and used it once a month to download transactions. Everytime I close money, I get a new file created on my hard disk with the name "My Money Backup ++.mbf", where + indicates a number. I always open the latest .mbf file to access the information. Now I have purchased a new laptop and installed Money 2004 on that as well. I have copied the latest .mbf file from my old laptop onto a diskette and tried to open it from the new laptop in vain. Whatever I do, I get stuck at the log-in screen, which asks me for sing-in name and password. I enter my passport sign-in name and password and I get the following message "The sign-in attempt for ****** was unsuccessful. Please try your sing-in name and password again". I can sign-in using the same name and password on my old laptop and as well as hotmail.com and I can't do it on my new laptop. This is driving me crazy. I need help badly.. Please anyone out there?     - Graphics in MS Money 2006 Hello all... With Microsoft Money 2006 I noticed a problem and can not figure it out for the life of me... Here is the situation... The menu at the top of the screen has the text color the same as the background. The background color is not the color it is supposed to be either... On my other computer it woks fine, but not my main computer. I have updated to the latest ATI drivers and still no luck. Microsoft support tells me it is something in my machine, and I do believe them, but I am not exactly sure what to even try. As I said, I have updated the drivers for the video card, tried different resolutions, tried 256 color, 16 bit, 32 bit... Changed the themes... changed the active X settings.... Turned off Hardware acceleration... What else can I try short of a different video card?     - Problem Opening 2005 File in Money 2006 Premium I'm unable to open up my 2005 Money file (approx 50 MB) in my new copy of Money 2006 Premium. I've tried all the repair steps, but every time I try to open the file, I get the "We're sorry, but Microsoft Money has experienced an internal error and will have to restart" window every time. I talked to the MS technical support group, but they were of no help -- ended up telling me I'd have to export all of my info account by account and try to import it into a new file, which would take me much more time than it's worth (I might as well import it into Quicken!) The PC concerned has recently been fdisked and fresh install of win 98 and the same version of Money 2000 Standard edition installed.     - Aversge Price and Cost Basis I had been using the Delux Portfolio with $CDN funds for 5+ years, but on July 18/05 it started with an upgrade download and hasn't given me a correct Average Price or Cost Basis since. I tried going to Money 2006 and it also does currency connversion at sign on & off resulting in a creeping rate translation error. I have to go to the Basic stand alone Portfolio, correct all the entries and then its OK unless I go back to Money 2006. The exchange rate box on trades is new since July 18th also. I can't understand why something so simple and fundamental isn't fixed yet. This is a serious bug. Just look at the July 16th version of the code and you should be able to pinpoint it.     - Paycheck Deductions Our paycheck is set up for payment every other week. However, when the budget summary shows the monthly budgeted deductions, it multiplies the amount by 4. For example: Dues = $13.05 every other week In the budget summary it says that our monthly budgeted amount for dues is $13.05x4 = $52.20 when it should only be $13.05x2=$26.10 Does anyone know why or how to fix this?     - Income Budget Incorrect Looking at past questions, my husband and I found the formula that MS Money uses to come up with the Income budget (taking the pay over the whole year and dividing it out). That number per month for us comes up to $5505.38. However, when we click in Budget and it shows our monthly budget - it tells us that our monthly budgeted wage income is $9209.00.     - How to deal with Buying a House Hi all, I am in the slow process of buying a new construction home. I am a little unclear how to account for all of the little items that keep cropping up. For the ernest money, I just created a new asset account for the home and made transfers to and from the appropriate account. The thing that I'm not sure about is things like the mortgage application, or the rate lock fee on the mortgage. Any idea where things like this would go? Also keep in mind that a loan has not been setup yet since we don't close until April of 06. Lastly, is there an easy way to deal with the new house, which will make selling of the old smoother.     - Transferring between accounts I have upgraded from Money 2000 to 2005. When I create a new transaction as a transfere between 2 accounts, some of the existing accounts are not appearing in the account list. I have more than 150 opened accounts and what I can see is only about 29 accounts.     - Q2004 Std -Cateogories Tax Assignment Print Glitch I have found that when "printing" the Category list, even though 2 subcategories are not assigned to a Tax Line Item and are correctly displayed as omitted, they still are identified on the printout as "Schedule A: Doctors, dentists, hospitals, medicine and drugs" within the "Healthcare" category group. Apparently, everything for the Healthcare category group of subcategories must be assigned a tax line item identity for printing purposes. Has anyone experienced this also?     - Money 2006 Trial: Investment activity on price history and chart I've been using Money 2002 and 2004 for about 3 years. Just downloaded Money 2006 trial and installed it. I have not yet tried it for much time, but found one thing that doesn't work. In Money 2004, if I have an investment transaction on a particular date, I could delete the price of an investment updated online for that day, and go back to the investment activity, manually input the transaction, or change the transction date back and forth if the transaction was downloaded. Then the price history of that investment will show the price and the action (such as Buy or Sell). In addition, the price chart will have a cirled B or S on the graph. I learned this trick from this group, thanks! Now this does not seem to work in the trial version. After I deleted the price from online update and played with the transaction date, there is no entry in the price history and no buy or sell marks on the chart.     - Money 2003 P&B and MSN Online Accounts For years, I have been able to sync my accounts from Money 2003 with Money on the Web. However, now when I go to MoneyCentral, I'm seeing two categories: * MSN Money Accounts * Microsoft Money Accounts. My bank account info is under Microsoft Money Accounts. The info seems to be updating correctly. However, when I click on any account, no data is displayed. I get the following error: "An error occurred on the server when processing the URL.     - Final car payment I am finally paying off my car! However, the final payment is slightly less that what the rest of my payments were (probably due to interest, etc.) My problem is that I can't figure out how to tell Money (2005) that this payment is different. When I go to the payment the splits are 'calculated' and it will not let me change them. How can I tell money that this last loan payment is slightly different? Thanks.     - OT, slightly Has anyone had *any* success at all using Spb Finance with MS Money 2006? I thought I'd use it until MS gets their act together and publishes MS Money 2006 for the HPC (PDA, whatever you want to call it). I cannot get Spb to sync with Money 2006 on my computer via ActiveSync. I have let it sit for over **two** hours with Task Manager showing more than 28Mb of data being transferred as Spb was "syncing" to MyMoney file. The Spb documentation says this "could take some time"!!! Over two hours?! C'mon folks. I finally gave up and aborted the operation, which is what the Spb folks should have done with Spb Finance! I have presentely uninstalled Spb Finanace from my PDA and will just have to wait on Microsoft to get one of their programmers off his/her duff and get Money 2006 for the PDA out the door. I check the web site daily but all it says is ". . . coming soon." Yeah. My PDA is a Dell X50v with a 1Gb SD card and a 1Gb CF card in it. I loaded the Spb Finance into main memory as the Spb folks suggested. I also tried exporting MyMoney fle to a QIF. Spb would not read the file but erred out. I am using Spb version 2.1 which is supposed to be the latest version "fixed" for a problem with syncing with MS Money. I have posted three (or is it four, now?) questions/complaints to the Spb web site. So far, no response. Thanks for allowing me to rant a while.     - Xfer to Retirement Acct not registering correctly I have a budget set up in Money 04 Deluxe. It works fairly well, but I'm having trouble with transfers to my retirement and savings accounts registering correctly. I'm paid bimonthly, and 7% of my paycheck is transferred to a retirement account by my employer. Additionally, I have $250 autodeposited in savings. Here is how I have set up: I have both a retirement and savings acct set up in Money. I have my paycheck set up in a Paycheck Category that transfers the appropriate amounts to the retirement and savings accounts. Both accounts register the the funds as received and balance. The problem is that the Budget registers the retirement account as a transfer out of a budgeted account, but it won't register the savings account.     - Cannot remove Overdue bill form Home page I have an overdue bill notice stuck on my home page under "Bills and Deposits" yet under the regular bills abd deposits I don't see that bill. What happened was this: I had a bill that was for $150. I setup a recurring bill payment for $25 a month and set the payment number to "6" until it would be paid off. When there was $50 left, I just paid the whole bill. The next month rolled around and somehow money05 thought that bill still needed to be paid and now shows it as past due. I have closed the account. I have tried deleting the account altogether. I have tried file repair. Yet, the bill is still stuck on the home page under hte category of "Bills and Deposits" When I click on that listing, it takes me to the Bills and Deposits page, but then highlights the very top listing, no matter what that might be. If I select any other upcoming bill form the home page, it goes to the bills nad deposits page but then correctly highlights that actual corresponding bill. Somehow it is stuck on the home page yet does't correlate to any real scheduled bill. I was hoping htat the update to M06 Premium would fix that but no luck.     - Capital gains for day trades I'm using Money 2006. I own shares of XYZ at different cost basis acquired on different dates. At times, I do day trades of XYZ where I buy and sell the same shares on the same day. For some reason, Money refuses to allocate the shares I bought on the same day to my sale. When I sell the shares, it shows me all the shares of XYZ I bought before (which is fine), but it doesn't list the shares of XYZ I bought on the same day! The program seems to handle sells before buys on a given day. I can't believe the Money programmers can possibly overlook something so trivial.     - Puttin Money 2004 on another PC I've got a brand new Dell Dimension 3000 running XP Pro / SP2 and loaded Money 2k4. Originally, I tried accessing my .mny file on my white box running 2k Pro from the Dell. The name at the top of the window changed reflecting the .mny file name but no data appeared inside the Money 2k4 window. - I uninstalled Money 2k4 and re-installed it on the Dell and applied all the MS updates for Money. Still no luck... - I copied the file off the 2k Pro box and onto the Dell. Still no luck... - I executed a repair on the file and tried accessing the new one.     - Money 6 - Version? I recently purchased "MS Money 6 Deluxe" at Wal-Mart. I've noticed that most retailers, i.e. Amazon.com, Circuit City, Office Depot, Staples, etc. are selling this for $59 and there is a $20 manufacturer's rebate. Wal-Mart's price was $29 but not subject to rebate. I've checked the product number and they show as 860-00391. The Wal-Mart version shows as 860-00394.     - Dis-associate payee I've somehow gotten a paye associated with a different one. When I connect to my bank and download my transactions, any transactions from Albertson's automatically associate with a different payee (Waste Connections). I have to manually change the payee before I accept the transactions. More of a nuisance than anything else. But I would like not to have to do it every time. This is for Money 2005 Standard Edition.     - Converting Money 2001 International addition file to 2006 US editi I have been using Money 2001 International Addition (English) file bought in India all these years. I am very sastified with it. I have now moved to US and recently bought and installed Money 2006 Premium edition. While installing 2006 the older version needed to be uninstalled as per instalation procedure. Now Money 2006 is unable to convert my old version money file into 2006. It gives a message that this file "cannot be opened because it was created using a different version of Money". Out of the blue yesterday I started to receive "The email address or
password is incorrect. Please try again." when I try to login with my
Passport. I'm certain there isn't an issue with my Passport as I can get
into MSN Messenger and other sites.

Held off on posting something as I was hoping it was a site-wide issue like
what happened last year, but after not seeing any posts int his group about
it in the last 24 hours, I figured I'd check.

Start with
regsvr32 msxml3.dll

which is step 7.7 in

If that does not do it, go to method 7, and then the others.
