    - import bank statement with category Hi I have just started using Microsoft Money 2006 Deluxe. When I import my bank statements from my online banking am i able to set some 'pre-sets' so if it reads the heading as 'Electricity payment' it can automatically put it to the category 'Utilities' and if it has a groceries store name it can automatically put it to 'groceries' category without me have to do it each time?     - MSMoney 2006 Deluxe - Unable to remove "overdue" bill notification. KB913617 doesn't help. I have exactly the scenario described by KB 913617 [1], but the workaround doesn't work for me. I have three reminders on the home page for "overdue" water bills. When I follow the workaround instructions, and get to step 8, I am unable to edit the series of bills. I click "Edit bill series" and then nothing happens, except the calendar screen refreshes. I have already deleted the recurring bill from the Bills page, and have run out of ideas.     - Portfolio not updating prices properly Reposted for clarity: Some of my stocks in my portfolio do not update prices throughout the day. Some do (ARTC, IWM, and IVV), but most do not, including (ORCL, TWX, CSCO, T, GE, MRK, HD, WMT, QCOM, MHS, EFA, EEM, DIA, SPY, SW2XX, ABALX, QVGIX, SLMCX, AGTHX, SSRAX) For instance, at 7PM, when I look at my portfolio, most of the stocks list the days gain as unch, and still list yesterday's closing price (which didn't update until sometime late the night before). For those stocks, I never have a day's gain listed, because when the price finally updates, it's a new day!! Strange but true...any suggestions? I am also having another problem....my Etrade account update seems to be stuck and I can't force an update due to an error message (seperate post).     - mark as reconciled? I have a brokerage account with several transactions that have been entered but not marked reconciled. Is there a way to quickly mark them as reconciled? In older versions of Money, I could do it with ALT E M R, but with 2006, I see no way to do it except by right-clicking on each transaction individually.     - Why do Closed accounts still try to update? (Money05) I had 4 Netbank accounts all under the same logon ID. I have closed 2 of the accounts but for some reason. MS Money keeps looking for them and gives erros everytime I connect. When I say I closed them, I mean, I closed them at the institution and then I closed them in MSMoney. But whenever I do an online update I get the following error: "Microsoft Money could not update your account because your bank or brokerage does not have a record of it. The account may be closed or the account number may have changed. Learn More." Duh... That's exactly what happened, the account is closed... so how come Money keeps trying to update it. I've tried everyway I can think of to disassociate this account with the Online Setup (short of stopping and resetting up online services, which I can't beleive is the real answer). By the way, I have the same problem with Chase Credit cards when I reduced from 6 to 4.     - Asset Allocation Chart I am using Money 2004. Have few mutual funds entered in M-2004 but the asset allocation pie chart displayed is wrong. I am unable to fix by manually changing it. I thought if you give the ticker symbol. Money will be intelligent enough to grab the information from the Net and update the chart properly. What's the best way to record the purchase of physical assets like tools? I currently purchase a tool, like a table saw, with my business credit card, categorizing the transaction as "Transfer : Business Assets". This is good, because the Asset account shows up properly in a Profit/Loss statement. It's bad that the transaction does NOT show up in the Tax Software Report at all.     - Reversing an automatically balanced account I ran into a problem in recent weeks. I import my transactions from CITI and US BANK and they come in as reconciled and Money shows that the account was most recently balanced at the time of the import. This started happening after having to reload Money Deluxe 2005. This is rather annoying since I balance all my accounts off of paper statements just as a sanity check. The "Automatically mark accepted transactions as reconciled" option in the online services setup menu is unchecked. I need 2 things done: 1. Stop Money 2005 from automatically balancing the account upon import of financial data. 2. Reverse the balanced account so I can go back and balance the account manually against a paper statement.     - M2004 - Can I sell "lots" in IRA account ? I know taxes aren't an issue in an IRA, but for the first time in a long time I sold some stuff earlier this week in my IRA. AND it was not the entire position. When I enter it into Money, I do not get an option to select the lots ( just so I can see " how I'm doing" in the GAIN column). I right-click - SELL - and no option to choose lots. I don't have FIFO selected and this is the first time in a while that I've sold in my IRA. I checked the past entries but it was always a sale of the whole postion so LOTS didn't matter. In my regular account, "Lots " worked a few months ago. I just opened the register for that sale and I can "reallocate lots", so the function works. But does it work for non-taxable accounts ? I tried Money HELP but no mention either way .     - Wont accept any transactions with a check number I have an unusual problem. When I download my statement, I cannot get Money 2006 Deluxe to accept transactions with a check number. The accept button doesn't do anything. Clicking on change allows you to leave it unmatched. Trying to match it to itself doesn't work. As a workaround, I leave it unmatched, reset the unmatched info to match the correct item and then delete the previous entry. I have tried doing an uninstall reinstall, repair both quick repair and the more indepth repair. Is there anything else I can try to make this work?     - money file too big and more... Hi, I've been a loyal Money user since the first version. My money file is now 52mb. Archiving doesn't help (goes down to 41), probably because there are so many investment transactions in there and they don't get archived. I am currently using 2003 and tried to upgrade to 2005, but my balances all ended up incorrect. Any way I can continue with my current file or do I have to start from scratch with a new file? I'd like to stick with Money, but if I have to start all over again anyway, it would be a good time to look at other programs. A few years ago, everything was great, I loved Money, and really loved the portfolio manager. Please have someone with power user privileges on this computer install money." It makes no sense, because I'm an administrator and it must be a common problem because I get this message with Money 2005, 2006 (trial versions too). I tried to install Money with some other power user but I didn't succeed. And what is interessting I know the reason (from the user side) of this problem.     - Portfolio not updating stock prices properly Some of my stocks in my portfolio do not update prices throughout the day. Some do, but most do not, including HD, T, ... ones that I know have the correct symbol inputted.     - Broker statement downloading I find that some of the OPTIONS downloaded from the broker statement do appear in the list of transactions but are absent from the Portfolio summary of that period. Apparently Money did not recognise those transactions as OPTIONS and therefore did not record them accordingly.     - Unsuccessful statement updates One day about a week ago, my Home Depot and Sears credit card accounts would not update although I have had them working for the last six months. After going through the process of online setup, Money appears to download my acount information then an error message box pops up saying the information could not be updated from your bank or brokerage. In the last few weeks, I've installed a new router on my network (1 desktop 2
laptops). All other network and internet functions are okay but MS Money
2005 will not let me log into Net Passport, (ID and or password cannot be
verified). I contacted D link regarding this and they indicated that a
"port" may need to be opened. Once I log into my money file offline, it will
not update stock and mutual fund prices. I have used Money for years. Does
