 - Money stopped synchronizing with by bank - help! Since October 17 Money has stopped synchronizing with my bank and my credit cards. It worked fine since I started Money 2004 in August. I have another Money 2004 file that synchronizes fine with the same bank. I have tried the Repair feature and the new file does not sync with my bank.  - Money 2001 - Non Default Currencies and Statement Downloads I have recently moved to Papua New Guinea and have set up my local accounts on Money 2001. I have added the local currency - PGK kina to the currencies but when I try to download my bank statements I get this error box message: Import Completed Your file import was completed, but 1 item could not be processed... File import X Your statement contained a default currency (PGK) which was unrelated to the currency of the account "Westpac PNG Cheque". Money does not support statements containing unrelated default currencies. I was dowloading the file in OFX format. QIF files work fine. I have changed my PNG account to the local currency and made it the default currency but still no luck. Can money only recognise currencies that it comes with originally and not ones that get added by the user? Is there any fix for this?  - mutual fund merger I have Money 2002 Deluxe & Bus. I recently had 2 mutual funds merge and I cannot figure out how to handle this in the Money program. It tells about Company mergers and I read about 3 different ways to finagle a fund merger on older versions of Money but none of which had any sort of proper outcome (sell & buy shares, remove & add shares, etc.) Does anyone know if there is a way to properly do this on this program? thanks Doug Tag: not responding on shut down Tag: 152626

 - cannot see a list of transactions for 401k I downloaded the transaction lists for my 401k account. However, all I saw is "add shares" without the list of transactions. I tried the following resolution suggested in the money help. But it just doesn't work. Please help. "On the Accounts & Bills menu, click Account List. Click your 401K or 403B account, and then click Change account details. Click to clear the Retirement check box. Click to select the Retirement account check box, and then click OK on the message that appears. In the Edit Account dialog box, click Other (for employees), and then click Finish."  - Money 2004 Deluxe only half starts I just installed Microsoft Money 2004 Deluxe on a Dell i8600 notebook with Windows XP Pro. Installation steps went ok but when I clicked on the Start/Programs/Microsoft Money 2004 it only "half started" or didn't completely load. Then mouse cursor would disappear behind the window and I had to use the task manager's end program to get out of it.  - Anyone using US Bank or Bank One & MS Money? I want to get full-blown, two-way OCX, "work directly with my accounts" MS Money support from a bank. According to the MS Money website, both US Bank and Bank One provide this two-way level of support. According to both bank's websites, they do not -- they only let you download & import your data into Money. The online service reps for both banks can't seem to understand my question or give me a straight answer. So I'm hoping actual Money users here may have some experience with both banks & can tell me.  - Debt Reduction Planner The debt reduction planner on my version of Money 01 does not take the minimum payment due into account. It expects me to short some accounts to make bigger payments to other accounts. Obviously that is not feasable, as the late charges for not making the minimum payment would negate any possible savings. Is there a way to fix this so at least the minimum payment is listed?  - Bank not listed for online services, can't find "partner list" MS Money 2002, major New Zealand Bank but only 1 bank is listed and it's not mine, we think it supports direct online services in Money, but how do I get Money to acknowledge and use them?  - Can't undo a scheduled bill in the budget In Money 2004, I have a category that used to have a scheduled bill. I've since changed the bill amount and category using the "bills" section. But the bill still shows up in the budget: old amount, old category. So my budget is skewed by exactly the amount of this old bill. Trouble is, I can't find the old bill anywhere else to delete it. If I edit the category in the budget, money doesn't show the monthly charge. If I go to bills, this old bill doesn't show up, so there's nothing to delete. Puzzled and frustrated.  - SAME DOWNLOAD DIFFERENT DAY THIS A REPOST FROM A PREVIOUS DAY. I have one bank account set up for online download of transactions. Once a month, we they tack the interest charge on to the account I download it. This same transaction continues to show up as a new transaction for the nextfew days. Within a few days I will receive the monthly statement. I then balance the account and reconcile all transactions on the statememt, including the monthly interest. For a few days after I have reconciled the account I continue to download the same interest transaction that has now been coded as reconciled. I do not change the Payee from what is download.  - Money 2003 Reports problem I'm preparing to pay Sales Tax collected from my customers for the third quarter. I invoiced a customer in Aug. but I received payment from them in Oct. The Sales Tax Collected report for the third quarter correctly does not show that sale in Aug. But the Sales Report does.  - Corrupt Backup The "Microsoft Certified Computer Tech" didn't tell me he was going to reformat my hard drive in order to change my operating system from Windows 98SE to XP. So I lost all my data except that which I had on my D drive or floppy. Unfortunately, I didn't back up my current Money 2003 to the D drive but had it on floppies. After installing Money 2003 on my C Drive, I have not been able to restore my floppy backup which is on 4 disks. I just get this message: 'A:\My Moneybackup Backupdl.mbf' is corrupted or is not a Money backup file. I have looked at all the FAQs and searched the internet for an answer on how to repair this.  - trial 2004 Hello, I downloaded and installed the Money 2004 trial. I installed the trial side-by-side with Money 2003 in a totally different directory. I tried it out, and uninstalled it. I copied my saved 2003 version of my .mny file and opened it in 2003. (I still have a good backup of my pre-trial installation .mny file) Anyway, I opened it and nearly all my account balances are around 700,000,000 dollars. But they're not the same, they vary by a few hundred dollars. When I go to the account registers themselves, the account total is correct. When I go to my budget, my current balance shows up as ***err***! I then chose the "reinstall" option on Money 2003. Still same problem. I then uninstalled Money 2003 and deleted the 2003 program directory (some files were leftover). I couldn't check any of the files in the windows directory because I don't know what to check, or registery values for that matter. Even after reinstalling Money 2003 I get the same problem. As it turns out, the boy had been sending out, via e-mail, a type of "report" to e-mail addresses that he obtained off the Internet. Every day after school for the past 2 months, he had been doing this right on his computer in his bedroom. "I just got the e-mail one day and I figured what the heck, I put my name on it like the instructions said and I started sending it out," says the clever 15-year-old. The e-mail letter listed 5 addresses and contained instructions to send one $5 bill to each person on the list, then delete the address at the top and move the other addresses down, and finally to add your name to the top of the list. The letter goes on to state that you would receive several thousand dollars in five-dollar bills within 2 weeks if you sent out the letter with your name at the top of the 5-addressee list. "I get junk e-mail all the time- and really did not think it was going to work." the boy continues. Within the first few days of sending out the e-mail- the post office box that his parents had gotten him for his video-game magazine subscriptions began to fill up with not magazines, but envelopes containing $5 bills. "About a week later I rode my bike down to the post office and my box had one magazine and about 300 envelopes stuffed in it. There was also a yellow slip that said I had to go up to the post office counter. So thought I was in trouble or something (laughs)." He goes on- "I went up to the counter and they had a whole box of more mail for me. I had to ride back home and empty out my backpack because I could not carry it all. " Over the next few weeks, the boy continued sending out the e-mail. "The money just kept coming in and I just kept sorting it and stashing it in the closet, I barely had time for my homework." He had also been riding his bike to several of the banks in his area and exchanging the $5 bills for twenties, fifties, and hundreds. "I didn't want the banks to get suspicious, so I kept riding to different banks with like five thousand at a time in my backpack. I would usually tell the lady at the bank counter that my dad had sent me in to exchange the money and he was outside waiting for me.  - Money 2004 Deluxe and multiple network users Is MS Money 2005 now "network aware"? In other words, can I set up a money file so that two users can access it across a home network without worrying about whether or not the other user is already in the file, thus causing corruption? I did a quick test which would suggest yes, but I want to triple check. Here's what I did: 1. Copied my money file to a safe location 2. Opened it on one computer (A) 3. Walked to another computer (B), opened it there as well 4. Opened A to Home page. 5. Opened B to Home page, then went to downloaded statements and accepted some transaction. 6. Opened A to downloaded statements, observed that B's changes were there. 7. Accepted another transaction on A. 8. Went to B, verified that it showed the modification on A. 9. Closed B. 10. Went to A, verified changes were still there. 11. Closed A. 12. Opened it from A. No error messages anywhere. Still, being nervous I deleted it and restored the copy I had made.  - Bill Question - Money 2004 I have MS Money 2004, and have a recurring Credit Card payment setup as a bill that I've had in there for years. Suddenly, my November payment, when I right click the bill in Bills & Deposits, the options I get are Go To Account : <My Bank> Checking Go To Payee : Citibank Go to Category GO To Subcategory There is no Send - Edit - Delete, etc...  - Saving OFX files from California Bank Of America...convert ofx? All, I've seen similar posts, but not exactly the same. I saved an OFX from California BofA, and I can no longer retrieve the data in a different format (it's older than their three month deadline). When I try to import it, I get the familiar 'There is a problem with the data received from this online provider. If the problem persists, call the provider's customer service number for help.' Can I convert the OFX to OFC or QIF (which had worked for me previously). It seems like there are conversion utilities for almost every other format to OFX, but not from it.  - Recording Mutual Fund Purchase Transactions I'm not sure of the proper way to record simple mutual fund purchase transactions that are automatically paid from my primary checking. I find that I have some transactions that are debit withdrawals from primary checking paid to the fund. These are usually downloaded transactions from by bank. Others are recorded as transfers from primary checking to XXX Fund. These all appear under XXX Fund(Cash). I also have one transaction recorded as an investment transaction that looks like it was entered long ago with no from account. I would think that all these transactions should be recorded as investment transactions. If so, how should they be set up so they record as investment rather than as cash transactions?  - Download from BB&T has duplicate check numbers Hi, I am using Money 2001 Deluxe & Business. I recently opened a checking account at BB&T (Branch Banking & Trust Company). When I download account information (via their web site), the debit card transactions have a zero in the field, according to the bank online help people. Microsoft Money replaces the zero with the most recent check number found in the download. For example, if I download check number 127, followed by two debit card transactions, it looks like: 127 Check $45.27 127 Martins $53.12 127 Citgo $19.50 Has anyone else seen this before?  - Download QIF file to update mortgage account I'm using Money 2004. I can setup a mortgage account, but I can't setup the online services for it. For my other bank acnts, I go the bank website, download history for the account and specify which acnt to update. When I try to download the mortgage transactions, Money asks which acnt to update and lets me select from a drop down list. My mortgage acnt is not on that list. I cannot type an entry into the field, only choose from the list. I also tried doing the download and creating a new acnt from it. Problem is, it won't let me create a loan account from the download.  - Money 2002 Statement Date and balance not updating I'm not sure how to post this question. In my checking account register, to the upper left if the actual register just below the date, there is a section of the screen with downloaded statement information. It lists the date of the last download, the balance reported by my bank at the time of the downloaded statement and the number of items from the statement I need to review. The problem is that this isn't updating as I download statements. Although I download a statement every other day, it still says my last statement was downloaded on 10/12/03 and my balance was $x.xx. How long have you waited? It may just be busy for a long time. "Not
responding" in task manager doesn't **necessarily** mean anything besides
it's busy and not processing its message queue.
