Hi-
I was just having problems signing into money w/ my
passport. What follows is what the MS support person
suggested I do, and it managed to fix the problem that
had been bothering me for 2 weeks:

-----
Dear Dan,

I apologize for the mistake I have made to write 2004
instead of 2002.

Focusing on this issue, I am sorry to hear that the
problem still persists. Actually, we have received
several service requests which detail the same Passport
sign in issue in Money. We have reported this problem to
our product team. Based on their feedback, the problem is
that one of a Passport server which provides an incorrect
authorization file (Client.xml) for Passport signing into
Money. They are working on this issue and may still need
several days to fix this problem. Since this
authorization file is located on the Temporary Internet
File folder, please follow the steps below to clean the
temporary files and try to sign in again:

Note: Please temporarily disable all anti-virus programs,
such as Norton, and all firewall software, such as Zone
Alarm, during our troubleshooting.

A. Steps to backup the cookies
------------------------------------------
1. Open Internet Explorer (IE) and click "Import and
Export" on the file menu.
2. Follow the instructions on the window to "Export
cookies" to a new folder.

B. Steps to Clean the Internet Explorer Temporary Files
and Cookies
----------------------------------------------------------
-----------------------------------
1. Click Start-->Settings-->Control Panel-->Internet
Options.
2. On the General tab, click Delete Files.
3. If you are using Inter Explorer 6.0, click Delete
Cookies.
If you are using Internet Explorer 5.5, click Settings--
>View files, choose Select All in the Edit menu on the
tool bar, and then select Delete in the File menu.

4. Click Ok to close the window.

Please resign in the .NET Passport to Money and check if
this issue persists. If the problem persists, please
follow the steps below to check this authorization file
(client.xml):

1. Open Windows Explorer

2. Go to the folder

For Windows XP system

C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Local
Settings\Temporary Internet Files

For Windows 98 system

C:\Windows\Temporary Internet Files

3. Check the file size of client.xml. A correct size is
about 28 KB.

4. If the file size is not 28 KB, please follow the steps
in the beginning of this message to clean the Temporary
Internet File and try to sign in Passport in Money again.

Please try the above steps on your side and keep me
updated on your progress at your earliest convenience. If
anything in my reply is unclear, please feel free to
respond to me. I will follow up with you immediately.

Best Regards,

Ellen
